Great place to stay, perfect for myself and my family.

The newly renovated rooms are amazing. We loved having a balcony and the staff was great. The location was also wonderful. We are able to walk to all of the downtown attractions.

Great location, comfortable beds, clean and updated rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

We had 2 rooms for 5 days. This is our experience, the good and the bad.
Good-
* updated room with COMFY beds, and nice updates from lighting, toilets, sinks, and odds and ends.. They took an old hotel and made it gave it great updates.
* Check in was easy...even with Corona virus style check in, they wear masks.
*Hotel is at the end of the strip off river road. The perfect location to get to the National Park easily, Obers tram, a 5 minute walk to the strip and a couple of good restaurants close by.
*Easy process to get things needed throughout stay, because of covid, it is contactless, but quick.

Bad-
*the large rug in our room is stained, looks dirty and 3 days after being there...we found a half eaten slice of pizza underneath it.
* Because of covid, noone was suppose to go in rooms, but someone had came in to put a lamp in our room and left an old, empty cigarette pack on our side table.
* the breakfast is not good... Go check out all the local eateries.
*Sewer flies were in both rooms, 1 had more then the other.. I counted well over 20 buzzing around me and this was the one with fewer. When I told the front desk, I did not feel she took it seriously, but it was gross.
* We were told because that once you stay with them you get 15 percent off of room when we get another room there. I called to get a 3rd room for my parents and they would not give that deal. Dont tell me things if it is not true.
We would stay here again... as long as the sewer fly situation is taken care of.

If you are frequent Gatlinburg visitor then this place is quite affordable and close to some tourist attractions.

Room was filthy. Had to sweep our room upon arrival. Staff was friendly, but very young and new.
Woke up with a roach, left immediately.

Love the location....the room was nicely set up and clean.

I was nervous to stay here after reading reviews but I was pleasantly surprised!! Hotel staff were friendly and the location was great! You were on the strip after a few minute walk. The rooms were old but CLEAN! Would stay here again.

Our first night there was good but the second night we had people staying over top of us that at midnight were jumping up and down, playing loud music and throwing stuff over the balcony. When we complained to the front desk she just shrugged it off like nothing and wouldnt do nothing. So we left to come home..There should be a cut off time for noise out of respect to other guest

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at! I ve stayed at many hotels all over the country. The staff was so kind and inviting, the rooms were over the top clean, and the bath and bodyworks bathroom products were an amazing addition!

I first booked Parkview Inn, that place was absolutely disgusting, I m so glad this hotel was so inviting and saved my whole trip! Highly recommend! I will be staying here again!

When we arrived from the outside we could see it wasn't maintained very well but , after other reviews we just assumed it was the "dated" look everyone described. When we entered the lobby we noticed a printed sign that said "NO REFUNDS FOR EARLY CHECKOUT" well that made us leary. When we entered the room it was as everyone had said it was old but fairly clean. We couldn't make ourselves sleep on the sheets or use the towels so we went and purchased a couple of blankets and some wash cloths and towels just to get by. When we went out for a day in town we passed one of their housekeepers and maintenance man. The housekeeper was wearing short shorts and had a cigarette hanging from her mouth and the maintenance man was wearing the dirtiest shirt and shorts I have ever seen . ( which he wore for the day and a half we were there.) We stayed out of the room the day we arrived and got back late so we put off a shower till the next day. When we did get time to shower we turned on the water and from the spout that fills the tub came the cold water and from the shower head came the hot water. You could not get them both to come from the shower head ! After that we couldn't take it anymore so we left. We didn't visit the lobby to complain, there was no need, they were not going to make it right ( as we could tell from the "NO REFUNDS" sign we saw at check-in) If you want to enjoy your stay and want your family to enjoy their vacation DON'T STAY HERE!!!!! This is a prime example of you get what you pay for.... This is not an exception at this property after seeing all the broken luggage carts and broken equipment in the breezeways covered with old bed spreads this is definitely the rule. Absolutely the WORST stay at a hotel in my life. If we had to find a bright spot in this ordeal we would have to say it would be that we don't think we brought bed bugs back with us.....

Wonderful surprise! Our first time to venture ofc staying directly on the strip (Parkway) and we're hooked! Not only have their been recent renovations but the location is Wonderful! So much more accommodating without all the traffic! The front desk was EXCELLENT at check-in as well as CHECKOUT! Very friendly and courteous! I expected a frenzy with it being a VOLS game weekend but just the opposite! Our room was very modern (2 Queens Non smoking) and the additional vanity with cabinetry is WONDERFUL! Especially for the gals!
Our balcony view was breathtaking and it was wonderful enjoying our morning coffee out there!
Happy to say RIVER EDGE MOTOR LODGE is our new Gatlinburg destination! Tha no you River Edge for our great vacation getaway! Your staff is to be commended!

A little over priced but it was a nice place to stay. You can walk to the strip and it's centrally located. Fireplace was nice but was only for looks. #cozy #weekendgetaway

Dirty and outdated. Over priced for the quality. We tried getting our money back because the online booking photos were misleading but they refused. We left and stayed somewhere else for the remainder of our trip.

Our stay there for most part was great wished they would of had a better breakfast some days but all in all it was great

Got their suite, described as newly renovated, and it was dirty. Thick dust on headboards. Mirror in bathroom was more black than mirror due to some type of damage. Dirt and something that can only be described as "gunk" on walls. Carpet was stained in many places. Hotel towels on balcony from previous occupant. Toilet had leak in inner tank seal so bowl would lose water and we would frequently hear the water flow as if someone had just flushed. Room needed to be painted because of the dozens of dents and nicks on every door frame. The suite had to be last decorated in the early nineties. On the plus side, it was spacious. Two rooms, one with one queen bed and other with two. Also, there was a hideaway bed. Plenty of room for three kids with me and my wife.

Located right off the main strip in Gatlinburg, its in a great location to get to everything. The rooms were clean and nice, although all the doors were a bit hard to close and open. Service was great.

Pictures can be deceiving. When we arrived there for our nightly stay it wasn't but 20 minutes before we were ready to go. We seen the "awesome" jet tubs they had posted online with the good location and went ahead and booked it. No showers in the room because of the tub and the tub hadn't been cleaned and had some kind of soap scum/skin floating in the tub.. To top it off we had to activate the plug to the tub with a rusted paper clip that held it together. Wouldn't recommend.

Nice place. Well kept and looks like it's been updated relatively recently. If you're a smoker you'll want to find a different place to stay as the campus is smoke free including balconies, and they enforce it.

The rooms were cute, however the main things I didn t like were there were small bugs all throughout the room. They were in the bathroom and on the walls everywhere. The other thing is there were no lights in our room. There were only a few lamps, which is okay I guess but just makes the room really dark. Over all not bad, but could ve been better. Location is good, close to a lot of restaurants and shops.

The room didn t look like the pictures, the fireplace wasn t working, there were tons of knats, the bed had stains on them, the bathroom looked dirty. I wasn t very pleased with my stay for the price I had to pay.

It's an old motel that is in the process of updating with lots of the parking unavailable. The rooms are ok. Nothing fancy. Got 2 nites at a great rate but Friday nite was pretty outrageous considering the state of the repairs.

The rooms have been remodeled recently and they are beautiful! Nice amenities, the bed was comfy, very nice fireplace & balcony! Will definitely recommend & stay again!

Great for the rate. Our room was pretty clean other than some light switches and dust on baseboards. I saw some other horror story reviews but my experience was nothing like that. We stayed in rooms 110 and 111, so maybe those are just some of the better rooms. Slightly must smell the first hour but didnt notice after that. Krispy kreme donuts in the lobby for breakfast. Also fruit and a few other options. Giving 4 stars based on price/expectations for that price. Great water pressure.

When we stayed here it was being renovated. When we pulled up it looked run down and we second guessed our decision on staying there. Then we got to the rooms and they where gorgeous all bran new and decor was modern and what I loved the most everything was so clean and there wasn t full carpet throughout the entire room there was just carpet under where the bed where and the beds where so comfy and there were plenty of great pillows and throw blankets which I thought was a nice touch! You also had ur own private balcony and there was the bathroom the outside of the bathroom was a vanity. The next morning they were painting the outside so it was safe to say they just had got to face lifting the outside quiet yet!! All in all this place was awesome and the price was spectacular!

The room reeks of smoke it was horribly furnished the only good thing was it was in the middle of Gatlinburg. There were several fixtures that were broken and in need of repair.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It s right behind the Gatlinburg strip so you can walk to anything. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are so nice! Bed was also comfortable as well. Will definitely book again.

The most pleasant staff I've ever met. Do not judge the outside appearance of the lodge. The rooms are updated with a nice modern look and the beds are very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again whenever visiting Gatlinburg.

It is clean and has wonderful and helpful employees. It has a nice pool and a great view on the balcony. Has great parking and comfy and clean beds.

This place is below a two-star hotel rating. Our room was horrific! No curtains at the window..only blinds that where broken and bent. Which meant no privacy and a building security light shining from the outside into our window all night. The bathroom sink and shower/tube were stained and damaged so much so that the fiber was peeling from the tube.....sink had huge stain. The linen was clean but the bed matress was so hard we could hardly get any rest without a back ache the next morning. This place is poorly clean, dusty and dirty. The TV was not proper hung and would not stay upright, kept tilting down....who could watch it? Management puts nothing back into the up keep of this place. They dont care. Dont bring your kids. The first thing we did was walk to the Walgreens to buy flip-flops to avoid walking on the carpet or showering bare feet. Oh, by the way after we asked for better accommodations they agreed and gave us another rooms. We went to the room to attempt to get in the door would not open. Front desk asked maintenance to meet us there to assist. He could not open it either. When I asked him why, he said the room was deadbolt on the inside. He knocked on the door......someone was already in the room. They gave us keys to another person's room. Totally unacceptable!!!

I was impressed with the decor, comfort and location!

The staff was very nice and friendly. Our room was very clean. The pool was clean. We had to leave a day early and our room was paid for another day, so I thought we wasn't going to get the money back for that day, (after all it wasn't their fault) but yesterday I received a check from them for the price of the room for that day! I recommend this place to stay while in Gatlinburg... Thanks everyone at River Edge Inn...

The staff here is amazing! The only issue we had is it there free wi-fi was not working. The newly remodeled room was great which included the king size bed in fireplace. We just wish there was more water pressure in the shower. The location was convenient to Gatlinburg so we parked our car at the hotel and walked. Will definitely be back

Luxurious rooms, great service and conveniently located close to some of the most breathtaking views Gatlinburg has to offer. Qualities that more than make up for its few flaws: simple breakfast and very slow, and short-range internet.

We both left with bites all over us I think they may have bedbugs and the pool was filthy

Very disappointed in the room! The renovation looked like it was half done. The entry doors were old and didn t shut well and the top lock didn t work at all. We had bugs in the bathroom. I woke up to one crawling on my back (It was not a bed bug!!) it was the same kind that was In the bathroom! Location was great and beds were comfy until I found a bug crawling on me! We went down to breakfast the first day and didn t bother going back the remaining 2 days! Sorry we won t be returning!

Fantastic place to stay! Very clean. We got a king suite with a spa tub and it also had a fireplace. Very cozy room and the fire place added warmth it was great. The walk to the main strip isn't far at all. Right up a little side street or you could cut through the parking garage which brings you out right on the strip. There's a couple restaurants on the same street as the hotel one is Bennets pit bar-b-q they have a buffet style breakfast,the bacon was on point. The other one is a seafood place. Calhoun's is a short walk up on the strip and highly recommend it. The food was delicious and the prices were good. This hotel should be at least a four star. We will be staying here on our next trip

This is a really nice place to stay. Very clean and Chuck who works there will make you smile and have a better day every time you see him. The other staff is great also. Would definitely stay again.

We are going to stay the 3rd week of August. Hope every thing will be open and running . girlfiends 30 th birthday.

We've been staying here for the past 10 years, but our stay recently was our last. It has steadily gone downhill and very, very outdated. This visit found the previous occupants garbage still on the floor by the garbage can, a slightly sticky carpet, Internet service that was slow, and NO hot water. None. Warm for the first 2 minutes of my shower, freezing cold for the rest. I hate that this happened, especially since this is supposedly a locally owned business, but this place is in need of major uogrades and repair. We won't be back.

I found this place on Expedia and wondered if the rooms really looked like they did in the pictures. I think the hotel has gone through recent remodeling for the rooms, and it really shows. The rooms were beautiful and we're probably some of the nicest rooms we've stayed in since we've been visiting Gatlinburg. The hotel is locally owned and the owners take great pride in the guests enjoying their stay. The bathrooms were the best the part about this hotel. They looked as if they had hired a professional interior decorator. The showers were made with tile, and the fixtures look really nice. The hotel was very clean and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
