Rising Sun Sushi Bar and Grill Review

Customer since 2010. Normally sit ar kitchen end of sushi bar so we get to chat w/the chef & staff. Also get to ask about the days incoming and have them recommend dishes they have been "creating/testing". We have found 4 or 5 dishes (3 off menu) that we cannot live without if the proper deliveries were made that day or say before.
Hit them up for Happy Hour to get FANTASTIC DEALS *just remember to tip based on the regular price please...these guys work very hard for you & earn EVERY PENNY we can afford them.

Man the seafood is great. Been 4 times so far and its deliciousness is almost close to this sushi restaurant i use to go to all the time in Georgia called kiku. This is the only spot I will eat sushi at from now on. Also the seafood fried rice is the bomb

My friend brought me here about a month ago and I've been hooked every since! I like that you can take away things that you don't like that come on the rolls(like spicy mayonnaise). They stay open late on the weekends and the ambiance is really nice. It's my favorite sushi spot. The menu is thick and there's lots of choices. I love that they have meat choices like crab, crawfish,lobster,shrimp, etc. They even have smoked salmon but I don't think it was cooked so I sent it back. Still other great cooked choices.

Food was alright but the atmosphere was pretty bad. Music was blaring electronic music (which was pretty good) but it was way too loud and all of us were screaming over each other. The wait on the food was long and the waitress, although very nice, was asked to bring some sauce for the sushi never brought it out nor could we find her to ask her again. Wasn't a terrible experience but left a lot to be desired.

Place offers a great atmosphere to sit down and have a couple of drinks while you enjoy your sushi. Food overall is delicious, a good variety of different dishes as well, with some having their own unique presentation.

The portions were the perfect size for the price. The meat plates are served with soup, salad and rice.
The California role was fresh, and the spicy tuna was spicy.
The place was a warm atmosphere.
Highly recommend.

It's hard for me to go to this side of town and not find an excuse to stop by Rising Sun. Their food is always fresh and made to serve. The staff is very friendly. They have a vast variety of sushi's. I have tried many different ones and haven't had a complaint about any of them. I particularly like their fried rice, it's clear they're using a Wok when preparing it. They're a touch on the pricey side maybe $2 high... But I wouldn't let those few dollars hold me back from visiting. They have pretty decent happy hour specials. I enjoy the atmosphere as well, seems to be a consistent energy in the air.

I received a gift card for this location in 2017, but moved and never had the chance to use it. We were in town last weekend and tried to use it and they honored it! I was so happy, because I never win anything and I was kicking myself that I never got to check you guys out. We ordered a few different rolls and an appetizer; everything was delicious! My only disappointment is that it's so far :) Thanks for a great experience

The food was excellent, great roll combos and good quality fish. The service was nice but it took an hour. Probably just the times.

This used to be a really good place to eat. Now.. the prices have gone up and the quality has went way down. Paid 18.99 for a chicken teriyaki plate. It came with 1 broccoli floret, 1 cauliflower floret, mushy cabbage and the whole thing was topped with way too much teriyaki sauce. Won t be going back.
