I really loved my time at Rio and I felt the majority of Professors were helpful if you had life happen which I did on a number of occasions, the only issue I have had is the math requirement. I am pursuing my associates in Substance Counseling and the math is the only thing holding me back and not having access to a tutor is super rough; I am on a long term pause at this point. I have found staff to be helpful and they do reach out to you and offer assistance.

Coming from someone that has attended school in different countries and different community community colleges across the valley, this is easily the worst Maricopa Community College. If you have the choice of attending Phoenix college or Scottsdale CC those would be much better choices. The department chairs and most of the teachers are out to get students, aswell as make their life more difficult. I am not just speaking from one experience and I am an excellent student that is graduating this week with a 3.7 GPA. So please take my advice.

I received my Associates degree in Business Administration last year through Rio. The elective class options were amazing and interesting. I could work at my own pace but was also kept on track by having a Saturday due date for my assignments. It was such a great experience and so convenient for me to get my degree all online while I worked full time and still had time for my family.

When I was in Arizona DOC, I took classes from Rio Salado online, which was a blessing and helped my time there go by faster. I completed several credits quickly and easily. When I got out, I had a hold on my account, and had to call and let them know I was no longer in ADOC, (which I put off forever because I thought it would be a long process) but it took maybe 2 minutes. It was also very simple to transfer my credits to my new school, and luckily some of them counted towards the degree I m pursuing.

I do wish there was more of a variety of classes available to men and women who are in DOC, but overall my experience was great and I highly recommend this school for online programs.

By far the worse college I have attended. I'm been to 7. Ok professors, but is ok really what you want from a college? High school teachers are better. Lessons are riddled with errors and when you point it out, they tell you they will pass it on. Ummm, if I caught it, how many others before me caught it? It's still there... There is no process for complaints on tests or to even check your rest. Pay a little extra and go someplace else. This college defines, you get what you pay for... Complete garbage!

I've been a 3.7-4.0 student for my entire career including collegiate and post-collegiate work. Taking Introductory Biology for Allied Health at Rio Salado with Lisa Byers was the worst decision I've ever made for my academic career. I needed this course as I took Biology so long ago, it no longer counted as a prerequisite. It is a freshman level online course that is made to be so tedious and time consuming. The teacher graded as if she wanted you to fail looking for every possible point to take away, rather than assessing your understanding. In all my years as a student I've never had such a frustrating teacher. I've done worse in other classes, but it seemed deserved as the material was challenging. This material is not challenging yet, the grading makes it seem as if I am a poor student. I disregarded bad reviews and what I had heard about Rio Salado because I needed online courses that worked with my work schedule but I really regret giving this school even a dollar of my money.

Their only saving grace was the very friends admissions staff member I spoke to on the phone who helped me with registration. I wish I remembered his name.

Otherwise, don't waste your money you'll receive a better education at all of the other Maricopa County community colleges or at any other online institution.
