I played here a long time ago before the new owners/management. I called it Concrete Acres because the fairways were HARD like concrete. Ball would travel extra yards. Since new owners & management the fairways are softer yet still firm enough to give you a bit of bounce. Greens are well maintained and always trimmed . I played here last year with a broken ankle and couldn't complete the 18. Staff was kind enough to give me credit for the remainder of my fee plus the cart. The only CON I can think of is the trails to each tee are not well marked. Other than that I would give this course a 41/2 star rating. THIS IS MY OPINION

I have never felt more disrespected by a golf pro (Pat) ,then at Ridgeview. The disrespect began on the first hole. After our tee shot we pushed forward to our ball. We noticed that there was a mower near the green. He looked up at us, noticed us waiting but proceed to continue mowing. (Normally I wouldn't care but Pat continued sending groups off the first tee.) Once he finished mowing we continued with our round. The disrespect continued on hole 7. Again there was a guy mowing. As we approached the tee box he moved out of the way but left the mower running.(Other course that I have been to, they respect the golfer and turn the mower off.)After we tee off, again we move to our second ball. This time the guy on the mower followed us. As we lined up for our second shot he stopped 10' behind us with the mower running. When finished I went in to the club house to let Pat know what had happened. He made up an excuse and walked away from me. Individuals like Pat ruin an afternoon of enjoyment and a person's willingness to return to a nice course.
Played here plenty of times, decent course, decent price. Of course there are better courses out there but this is just fine for your novice-intermediate player. Most fairways are open so not too challenging and there is no water.
Awful! If I could give 1/2 a star I would. Even the cheapest of courses are usually taken better care of. The staff was not very polite to say the least. Both gentlemen that I dealt were rude, not at all what you should expect at a golf course. The fairways and tee boxes were all covered in dead dry grass. Even the golfers themselves seemed rude. Had a older man get upset with me because I was using my phone as a GPS and scorecard. All around just a bad experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.
A very basic golf course. No frills, but offers a good deal for your money. Good location on M43 near the Van Buren County line. The course is well maintained, however the pull carts available for rent are in awful condition. Either bring your own cart or rent an electric rider. The course holes are varied and present many different challenges regardless of your skill level. Decent food and drinks in the restaurant.
Anyone planning a golf outing especially for a fundraiser, this is the place to go! Manager Mike Halpin gives you the best bang for your buck. He includes a full luncheon with the greens and cart fees and the food is homemade and wonderful. He is also very easy to work with and the course was in very good condition!
I heard that former management was rude so I avoided the course until this year. Love the new crew, fun events, reasonable prices and great golf leagues. Fastest league I've ever played in by far! Also course has been in good shape, greens especially, which is impressive given the heat this summer. Would highly recommend!
Worst golfing experience I've ever had. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Not something you'd expect with golfing. Even fellow golfers seemed very rude, getting upset with me for returning to a hole to retrieve a lost item when I did not interfere with their game at all. Do not recommend at all.
Worst golf experience I have ever had. We had a group of 10, and decided on our own to split up and do a 4 and 6 some, played best ball to keep the pace up. The outing in front was doing groups of 5 person best ball.
The old guy came out to us on hole 18 (we were one hole behind our other group, and no one behind us) and decided to yell at us that we can t have 6 and that 80 people were waiting at the turn and we were slowing the pace of play. Got to hole 1 10 minutes later, no outing waiting. One person volunteered to not hit or alternate with another so we would have 5 people playing. The old man proceeded to drive out to us on hole 1 yelling at us for playing with 6. He continued to rant about how we don t have golf etiquette, we didn t respect the game, and we shouldn t come golf their again, having an argument that every nearby hole was watching. After this, two friends that we were with decided to leave. We were then slowed by play from hole two through the entire front 9. So no need for him to act in this aggressive manner based on how many we had riding in our carts.
After playing we asked to talk to the manager. The old man walked in the clubhouse and asked if he could help us. We told him no nicely and that we were waiting for the manager. He asked several more times. The manager then walked in and we started speaking to him and the old man kept interrupting us saying again that we don t have golf etiquette and that we can t come back. After the old man accused us of attempting to get free golf and arguing for 5 or so minutes about not liking the treatment we received, we decided to leave. Manager followed us out and apologized for the old man saying we can come back when he is not there.
After reading previous reviews we found out the old man yelling at us was Pat. This seems to be a normal thing from him as it says he was a previous manager, so he must be mad he is not anymore. If they don t fire him he is going to drive every customer away, and is probably doing it intentionally. Based on our first experience here I would not recommend anyone play here if Pat is there. Watch out fellow golfers!
Hello, I have some feedback on the GolfNow App: This week I made reservations twice at Ridgeview golf course in KALAMAZOO, MI on Tuesday and Thursday using Hot deals.
On my second visit the owner of the course asked me if I had used Golfnow and I said, "yes." He then said he couldnt find my reservation and I stated, "I have the confirmation right here on my phone."
The owner then looked at his computer again and said he found it and then went on to say he was going to cancel GolfNow because he was losing money by using it and to come back when I can pay the full amount to golf there at regular rates.
Needless to say not a great business practice nor a good business man if he does not know and understand how GolfNow works yet signs a contract with them. His course is not like Gull Lake View where it's worth the monies you pay and the management and staff are thankful and grateful for business.
The owner also stated that an individual can only use GolfNow once per month at the same course. (Blatant Lie) Obviously he is not a fan and has lost a customer for life. I did tell him I'd pray for him in hopes that his business would stay a float lol.
I was very pleased with my experience at a big hole outing this was my first time at big hole and I had a great time. The course was in great shape especially considering the lack of rain and the high temperatures we have had lately. The food and people were great I will definitely be back can't wait until the next big hole if you have never been in a big hole outing you have to try it.
Get rid of Pat that works there. very disrespectful and unprofessional. Accused the other group that i played with in a big hole scramble of cheating because they won a skin and when i tried defending them because i literally saw them make the eagle he wouldn't stop talking long enough for me to tell him what happened. instead he just kept yelling profanity and telling us to never come back.
