it wouldn't have been such an awful experience had it not been for mr lowery. he was incredibly sexist, and when i called him out on it, he repeatedly degraded me for having my on thoughts, opinions, and beliefs, being intelligent, not being "feminine enough", and being asexual. he made me genuinely not want to exist, and eighth grade was a really sucky year thanks to him. there were a few good teachers, but most of them (especially mrs valentine, she was not the right teacher for physics) were pretty bad. a decent school all in all, but the staff is far from it.
This is a great school for kids to experience real life situations and to get the proper education for the future.
I like it, Lots of different types of people to be friends with, the staff is nice and accepting. The magnets are cool, and the experience is all out awesome. Never felt better at any other school i've been to.
This school is good except for two people who I am am not going to disclose.
I love this school! The magnets are a lot of fun! I especially like the art magnet which Im in. This school gives you so many opportunities and fun choices.
Mr. Lowry is honestly the most sexist man I've ever met. Talking about how he's had to explain to boys, "how distracting girls' knees are." It's honestly really insulting. I'm an eighth grader and I don't think I've ever seen a boy get dresscoded at this school. Mr. Lowry especially is not someone I feel very comfortable wearing a skirt around either.
Magnets are welcoming, but give you a challenge, which I like. The teachers, however, don't go let you go to the bathroom AT ALL, even during advisory. Also, us students don't have enough time (3 min) to go to the bathroom during passing period. So we are forced to either go before or after school, and also lunch. Good overall school, but it has it's flaws.
Coming from experience, the kids are fine, the classes are fine, the teachers are fine. But the Vice Principle for 2016-17 give the kids punishments that don't fit the crime.
