Just purchased a new home and requested a trash can two months before moving in. It has been one month since I made a request. It should not be this difficult to provide the tools needed for a service that I pay for each month. I ve called numerous times for a status update and I am told the same thing It should be there within the few days.
Not sure how this company is keeping its contract with the city with this kind of service.
Sloppy and unprofessional. Not sure why my neighborhood is still using this service for recycling. But the lady that answers the phone is nice.
They leave most of the trash in the streets. Most of the street litter in New Orleans comes from these sloppy and lazy trash men who are unable to get the van into the back of the truck. They only have 1 job and they get paid handsomely.
Very unprofessional. I ve called 4 times regarding trash not being picked up. Each time I was told that a supervisor would be coming to make sure the trash is picked up. No one came. I asked to speak with the office manager and a Deidre Jones who is the manager was very disrespectful and rude. This woman was screaming to me on the phone and when I called her out about being unprofessional she hung up the phone. The city of New Orleans need to cancel their contract with this company. Tax payer dollars shouldn t be going to a company that have no regards for residents of this city. There s too many bad reviews for this company to still have a contract. As I write this review the trash has yet to be picked up. I will be filing a complaint with the city.
I worked for this company temporarily and answered calls for complaints. The complaints were rectified and if I had the opportunity to work there again...I would do it in a split of a second. I enjoyed working with the staff and management.
The trash is picked up every Monday. The empty can is invariably left in the middle of the driveway entrance requiring that I leave the car in the middle of the street while I get out of the car and move the can.
Richard s disposal is trash. I placed a two neatly bagged large bags of branches, and they remained on my curb for six weeks (killing my ground cover), with me eventually paying a private company to pick them up despite multiple phone calls and complaints to the customer service. By far the worst trash service I ve ever experienced, the City and Parish would benefit significantly from using any other trash service, and this companies abysmal reviews certainly echo that sentiment.
I have had to order 3 new trash cans since Richards disposal started picking up in my neighborhood. The garbage man slings the trash can when they empty it and it causes the can to continually break.
Second Saturday in a row of no trash pickup and yet we are paying full price. Terrible service
Servicing the area for trash & recycling is their business. I will admit it took about a month to get things in order for RECYCLING at my place of employment, but once it was in place, it seemed to continue with fail (praying this remains true even after this review).
After speaking ad nauseaum to Ms Troy, Ms Linda & Mr Clayton, my woes were fixed. They were great in the efforts to have a job done RIGHT!!!!

Our sanitation workers are true heroes, just for what they do, week after week without fail. They truly are on the front lines and it breaks my heart when I see very young men working without masks or gloves. They are so susceptible to everything, not just Covid Virus. Is it at all possible that Richards could stretch their budget and hand out gloves and masks in the morning when these heroes show up for work? Is it possible for people who make masks to donate some to our guys who make sure we're not living in filth? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, THEY NEED IMMEDIATE HELP, THEIR HEALTH IS AT RISK. And, is it at all possible for Richards to Have a talk with these men, especially the very young ones who don't watch the news the way we do, to impress upon them how important it is to wear masks and gloves while working? It should be mandatory. Not for just the drivers, but the ones who touch the garbage cans. These heroes are husbands, fathers, sons and daughters, we really need to be more appreciative of them. Come on Richards, spring for some protective equipment for your people. The sanitation heroes in my neighborhood are excellent workers, clean, never leaving trash on the ground. Let's Keep them alive by protecting their health. It's because of the heroes in my neighborhood, I gave 5 stars. Thanks.
They never pick my can up on the first run, I have to call (phone is busy for hours on end) before the give me excuses as to why it's not picked up...the absolute worst disposal company in the City of New Orleans
We went into business with Richard's disposal last December 2017. Everything seemed to be fine at first until the owner's credit card started being charged for false hauls. We tried speaking with the Two ladies in the front office but we were shut down and treated with such disrespect it was shocking to see what kind of business is being ran at Richards disposal. Now, the new owner of the Family Inn is left disputing this overcharge, when this could of been handled professionally. What is right should be put to justice. We asked Richards disposal to pick up our dumpsters on February 25, 2018, didn't receive the pickup until the end of March. They charged us for their late coming. What kind of business is that?? I tried asking for the owner's name and number but was turned down. The lady upfront would not tell me her name, but I do know she has blonde hair and is very tall and dishonest. The gentlman that was our salesman - which no names will be displayed is the biggest fraud of them all. Before going to the office, I called him and told him how upset we were to see another charge being made to the company account that was not accurate, he begged me not to go to the office. We have three messages on our phone from him saying " please please don't go to the office, let me speak with them first". We are now left to take legal action.
This is the worst company I have ever had a bad experience with. Glenn Richardson (3530 Rue Delphine ) So the hopper was mad at me for ask him to do his job. I even offered to help him but he spent about three minutes give me an attitude; however, this is a grown man acting like a child. I didn't want to fuss because he was already in the wrong, didn't look like he wanted to work, and clearly upset because I asked him can he take the trash he passed up! So, I left and call the company to make a complaint. I don't produce much trash, but this particular day I did 8/10//2017 wed. Social skill are terrible and bad attitudes.
Incredibly slow to pick up garbage. We run a hospitality business and guests had to walk up to bags of trash almost 24 hours after pickup time was assured.
Customer service was rude and disorganized. Told me to hold, and then answered me as if I was a new caller.

Everyone I know who uses this company has problems. They basically do everything they can to find an excuse to not pick up your trash. A friend of mine is having problems because they are saying his very obvious house is commercial because he works from home, but they still expect him to pay for services.
Requested a trash can 2 months ago, because the workers mishandled my trash can so bad that the lid cracked, then finally came apart. Called on 3seperate ocasions about it.. was told a ticket was printed and reprinted 3 times. And still don't have a decent trash can with a lid. . Sad. . Get it together or find someone who will. . My tax dollars isn't paying for slack.
our recycling has not been picked up since before new years. It and the neighbors in the 3800 block of Prytania has been sitting out for three weeks now.
At least once a month, usually twice, they fail to pick up my recycling. Then it sits out all day and people put their non recyclable garbage in it and I have to resort or they won't pick it up the next week.
Last weekend I put my garbage out in the required can, and it wasn't picked up. This weekend the same thing happened.There was nothing blocking the view of my garbage can. I tred calling to make a complaint, and all I got was a constant busy signal. I don't understand what is going on. I am very angry to say the least!!!

It's not even worth talking about. They are just terrible.
Took 3 months for them just to give me my recycling bin and in the four months since I have gotten it, they have picked up my recycling ONCE. And only because i called and asked them to. Now I am trying to call to get them to come get this essentially useless bin. Phone is busy. Just really frustrated.
Sometimes our garbage is not picked up on the days of service. This has happened so many times I have lost count and I end up having to call. We pay for this service every month and on time, follow all the guidelines. We are very dissatisfied with the service.
Guy left my can on the back of the truck so it got crushed by the garbage truck. Now I have no can. This company is run by ignorant people!

I put a mattress out on yesterday I just heard the truck when I went outside the mattress is still there and they didn't even do the whole street just backed up half way through this is sad but they wanna strike do your job and ppl at the office is rude when you call it only be the young ones because the older ones does there job
Can someone please explain how can the hoppers miss a full trash container on pick up day. Now there's trash floating on the rain flooded street (8400 blk of nelson st). Disgusting!!!!!
They haven't picked up recycling in over 2 months. I've called the city 311 weekly, left messages with the city's sanitation team, and called them directly. Based on these reviews, this is a norm for the company and unfortunately we don't have a choice.
Not impressed with this company at all. Recycling is not always picked up as scheduled. Now in 3rd consecutive week of no pick up and 3 calls made to the company. Is it really recycled??
This is the WORST garbage company in America! I have lived all over the world and I have NEVER had to call and complain until I moved to New Orleans. The hoppers are forever leaving my neighbor's cans in front of my yard and ALWAYS having cans on my car. I have tried to call them 19 times this morning & the line is busy. So, with call waiting in place, I know the phone is probably taken off the hook so they don't have to listen to complaints! Just a sorry company and I'm sick of paying them for horrible service. This is tragic. Truck #716 hoppers should be fired. They've left all the lids on my side if the street open & closed the lids on the cans across the street. What's that about?? I don't know.
These guys are monumentally incompetent. We've been waiting two months for a trashcan. Different story each time I call. I should get a new one "for sure next time the trash comes" and "for sure by April" (5 months since asking). Customer support complaints go through the same people the complaints are about (ie trash can). Anez, Troy and Deva were all not helpful and all had different stories.

Richard's Disposal has the most uncaring and disrespectful workers I've ever seen. When complaints are made to the company, supervisors and/or 311 nothing is done about it. Richard's Disposal is an awful company to work with and unfortunately the citizens of the city of New Orleans don't have choice in garbage collection companies to use. What a shame.
I called and asked a Woman about services that they do not offer. As I was saying, "All right, Thank-----" Click she hung up. I am born and raised in the south and have even worked customer service. I have NEVER had someone so rudely hangup on me. I'm not even a damn customer and I felt the need to leave a review.

Best owner and best two adult individuals as his daughter and son of any business I deal with. This company owner takes care of every employee that works for him in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. He treats me with dignity and respect. I do the same for Me. Alvin his two children and everyone that works for his company. He is our companies top client. They purchase all of their fuel and lubricants from our company for both of their locations. They are NEVER LATE on any of their payments to our Company. Nothing but the best reviews I can make on any company that we do business with. Simply THE BEST!

The most unprofessional, uncaring, uncouth sanitation workers I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. And when you call their office to file a complaint, you get these unbothered, why are you calling me, I don't give two craps supervisors I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They're about as horrible as the trash they pickup-- or don't pickup.
Staff is very unprofessional a client older lady couldn't find the place I help out by bringing the paper to them walk in said good evening the employee this look at didn't help a lady came from another to help if any business with Richard 's Disposal , Inc. That would have been the last day
Not professional! Instead of placing my recycle bin where you found it you leave it laying face down in the middle of my drive way so I have to pick it up and move it as I arrive home! Really!?!? Throwing it down instead of putting it back. I noticed others were the same. Get it together Richards!
This company is trash. Their customer service is trash. I was told this morning that management does not typically get in until 10:30am to 11am but the office opens at 8:30am.
The city gave these people a contract. December 11, 2016 I called reference the trash men/women destroying my trash can. I was given a ticket and a day the new trash can would be delivered. Each time I have called I have been told it would be dropped the next trash pick up.
27 January 17, I am still waiting. My trash can has been inoperable.
Terrible service - they don t actually recycle. Neighbor and I had our blue recycle bins out. Truck pulled up and picked them up, but then also started dumping in regular trash bins (black bins), mixing them all together. Bins were left thrown down in the street. It does not appear as though they actually recycle!
