RET International: Protecting, Empowering, and Enabling Young People, Women & Girls for Two Decades
RET International is a non-profit organization that has been working tirelessly for over two decades to protect, empower and enable young people, women and girls across the globe. With a presence in 34 countries and 378 projects worldwide, RET has impacted the lives of over 2 million direct beneficiaries and program participants while reaching out to an additional 20 million indirect beneficiaries.
At RET International, we believe that every individual deserves equal opportunities to live a dignified life. Our mission is to create sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty, violence against women and children as well as other social injustices. We work towards achieving this by providing education opportunities for young people who are at risk of dropping out of school or have already done so due to various reasons such as conflict or poverty.
Our integrated programming approach ensures better outcomes by addressing multiple issues simultaneously. We provide vocational training programs that equip young people with skills they need to become self-sufficient while also offering psychosocial support services aimed at helping them overcome trauma caused by conflict or other forms of violence.
RET's multi-sectoral approach also includes community-based interventions aimed at empowering women through economic empowerment initiatives such as microfinance programs. These programs help women start small businesses which not only provide them with financial independence but also contribute towards their communities' economic growth.
We understand that protecting vulnerable populations requires collaboration between different stakeholders including governments, civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector actors among others. That's why we work closely with these stakeholders in our project implementation process ensuring sustainability beyond our intervention period.
