A great place to grab a beer and some bites and enjoy the atmosphere with friendly staff. They also have some vegan-friendly options.

There is a large and good selection of local and home-brewed beer. The view of the city and the historic building is a plus. But the prices are rather expensive! If the prices were more adjusted, more local guests would go to the old tram depot. So are tourists and companies in particular.

Top location with a view of the lower old town and the former bear pit. Cozy restaurant and huge garden terrace. Varied beer specialties and fine classic dishes. We will be back regularly and soon!

Good food and great beer. BUT: When reserving online, it is noted that you have two hours before you have to vacate the table again, and that is actually how it is done. We were shown at the door exactly after two hours. As a customer, you feel like you are in a mass processing. Pity!

Edit: The 2h stay has not only existed since Corona, but has been for much longer. Incidentally, on numerous of my visits I have noticed that the beer is usually poured slightly under the calibration in the glass. Pay more attention to it. Nevertheless, I always like to come back.

Beautiful place I have been there this summer and there is a magnificent view the cube is very good and you can also see bears walking underneath in the garden truly a place to see if you are in Bern

Good address, good craft beers of various kinds, quite varied menu with seasonal dishes. The restaurant is located very close to the Bern bear pit and offers a very nice view of the old town.

We were December 8 with my group. On the advice of a friend of mine .. it was full of people but we waited very little to have our table .. excellent food and fair price based on you have dishes ... I must say that we found a lot well...

The beer is always good and the atmosphere is relaxed. Been there a number of times and the service was excellent every time!

Good beer, delicious food (even if the fries were a bit too salty) and very friendly service. As a larger group, we sat in the small hall on the upper floor, where unfortunately there was a little 'gym atmosphere'.

Very nice atmosphere, a small brewery. The home-brewed beer is a specialty, but there are also other fine beers. The menu leaves almost nothing to be desired and the food is very fine. The service is very friendly. It is best to reserve as there is always a lot going on.

They didn't take us seriously when they saw us young and non-German speaking. The food was extremely fatty, neither I nor my partner was able to finish our meal. We were ignored by the waiters. We asked for a jug of water, and they brought us a bottle for a fee. However, the site is very pretty, close to the bears. Despite the bad experience, you must come to Altes Tramdepot at least once.

A full menu suits the good occupancy of this restaurant - it is difficult to find a place on the terrace - and the atmosphere cheers for eating and drinking.
Even the local residents recommend this place and advertise the high quality food.
And finally: the price-performance ratio is okay - typically Swiss somewhat more expensive - but still worth it!

The Altes Tramdepot buildin was originally used to store tram cars, but has since been repurposed into a restaurant, cafe and tourism shop. There is a convenient pay parking lot just north across the street, and public transportation is a good option too. Just next door is the famous Barengraben outdoor exhibit of Bern s eponymous animals. The beloved live bears are a notable tourist attraction, and there is a nice walkway down to the bank of the Aare River. The Altes Tramdepot Brauerei & Restaurant has a two-sided wooden bar immediately inside. The bar has about 20 wooden stools, and in the center behind the bar is their open brewhouse, which consists of two shiny copper brewing vessels on a brick mezzanine. The high gabled wood beam ceiling overhead is a pretty sight, and hanging chalkboards list their 5 house beers on tap. The several short stainless steel fermenters and stacks of horizontal bright tanks are visible downstairs through a windowed wall. The size of the brewery indicates a steady stream of customers. I was impressed at the excellent quality of their beer, which is available by sampler flight or full pour. My favorite was their seasonal Milk Stout, but their year-round core beers are very good too. Past the bar area is the windowed kitchen on the left and a large dining area on the right. Their full service kitchen offers a typical brewpub restaurant menu, and they pride themselves on their Flammkuchen flatbreads. Outside is a scenic patio area with plenty of tables overlooking the River to Bern. The staff is welcoming, prompt, and very helpful. This brewpub has a great atmosphere, good service and tasting beer. I consider it a must-visit locale in Bern!

Shameful! Little choice and menu only in Swiss German, gas plant without any refinement, raw salmon not fresh ... hamburger two slices of bread and a reconstituted and thawed hamburger. The children very disappointed and my wife ... no comment !!!
For the capital it is scandalous especially in this tourist place which is the bear pit.

Great food in a unique setting. The microbrewery is a fantastic addition to the interior. There were three different beers from the microbrewery in addition to others. Well worth wandering a little further out of Bern centre.

Because of the good location, view and the beer, we came here regularly with foreign guests on a city tour. The impersonal service didn't stop us. Recently we were sent away as a group of 10 despite reservation, because not all of us ordered food. Spicy: During the reservation there was no question whether we wanted to eat! We were simply given the bill (including those who ate) and we were sent away. We weren't even offered to go to the bar, no excuse, nothing! CONCLUSION: Beer and location: top; Food: overpriced; SETTING AGAINST CUSTOMERS: FLOP; Tip: Support small inns that are still happy about their customers =) !!!

Visited multiple times, always had burger and beer. Sometimes place is too crowded. Burger are decent but quite pricey. Locally brewed beer tastes delicious.
