This place was real nice when Betty Ross was there...

This place was real nice when Betty Ross was there. She really looked out for her clients and had their best interests at heart. She always looked out for me when I was late on paper work. Once Ms. Ross retired I felt like no one had my back since then. This new supervisor not sure what she like she never reach out yet.

About Resources for Independent Living

Resources for Independent Living (RIL) is a non-profit organization that has been providing services to individuals with disabilities since the late 1960s. The organization was founded by Ed Roberts, a group of college students with severe disabilities in Berkeley, California. Their mission is to empower people with disabilities to live independently and achieve their goals.

RIL offers a wide range of services that are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual they serve. These services include housing assistance, transportation, personal care attendance, advocacy, and more. They also provide education and training programs that help individuals develop the skills they need to live independently.

One of the key features of RIL's services is their commitment to person-centered planning. This means that they work closely with each individual they serve to develop a customized plan that meets their specific needs and goals. They believe that everyone has the right to make choices about their own lives and should be supported in achieving those choices.

Another important aspect of RIL's work is their focus on community integration. They believe that people with disabilities should have access to all aspects of community life, including employment opportunities, social activities, and cultural events. To this end, they work closely with local businesses and organizations to create inclusive environments where everyone can participate fully.

RIL also provides advocacy services for individuals who are facing discrimination or other barriers due to their disability status. They work tirelessly on behalf of their clients to ensure that they have access to all the resources and opportunities available in their communities.

In addition to these core services, RIL also offers specialized programs for specific populations within the disability community. For example, they have programs specifically designed for veterans with disabilities as well as youth transitioning out of foster care.

Overall, Resources for Independent Living is an invaluable resource for individuals with disabilities who are looking for support in achieving independence and full participation in community life. Their commitment to person-centered planning and community integration sets them apart from other organizations in this field and makes them an essential partner for anyone seeking greater independence."
