This business is a God send. The entire staff worked with us tirelessly through a very difficult time of rebuilding our home. We love our new rebuilt home. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.
Our Family would highly recommend Don Dufer owner of Renaissance General to rebuild your home. Our home caught fire due to a renter leaving a candle burning overnight in the Living-room. We contracted with Renaissance General to rebuild our home.
They removed all burnt debris, dealt with City of Fresno a long permit process, replaced most of structure including roof and upgraded everything to current code. Ty Harpin was the superintendent in charge and he was terrific scheduling all work. Ty even had some tradesman comeback and redo their work as it was not up to Don Dufer's excellence.
The home we got back from Renaissance is twice as good as it was before the fire.

Renaissance was recommended for some remodel work. I called them and spoke with Heather. I explained that I would like a bid. Heather explained that they mainly do insurance work, but they do some private remodels. Heather said that they don t do competitive bidding and if they come out to quote me a price than that guarantees them the job. I asked her how they were guaranteed the job if I didn t even know how much it cost. I heard a loud exhale and the phone hung up. I called back to confirm if I was actually hung up on or if it was accidental because surely they wouldn t have hung up on me for asking such a simple question. I called back and spoke with Stephanie who confirmed that I was hung up on. Stephanie then hung up on me. Very strange and very unprofessional. I m glad they proved they were terrible from the get-go instead of finding out later on.

My parents recently had a need to have emergency repairs and restoration on their home. It has been an insurance nightmare. The only bright spot has been the team at Renaissance. They have been there the entire way and have communicated, returned calls, texted, been on time and more. Thank god for these people in these situations.
We lost our house due to a fire and Renaissance was the first company we contacted. They were out on the property within 15 minutes and patiently waited with us till the Fire Fighters gave us clearance to enter our home. While our house was being boarded up and fenced off for security reasons, other staff members from Renaissance were generous enough to come by with water, phone chargers, toiletries, grocery gift cards and arranged for us to stay in a hotel until we contacted our insurance company to begin our claim. My husband and I were so lost in life, not knowing what to do, but Renaissance treated us like family and held our hand each step of the way. Before the house fire, my husband and I had ideas on how we wanted to revamp our home and Renaissance was willing to work with us and took the time to meet to go over all the details. Even the installers were great to work with! Always accommodating and easy to work with. Our house is almost complete which will be down within the timeframe Renaissance gave us and we can't wait to move into the beautiful home they built for us!!!!!

Great American patriotic family owned company. They helped my family when we had a very large house fire and lost everything. I have flooded my house a couple times and they were responsive and helpful from beginning to end.
If I could give zero stars I would. There was no communication between the office and the workers, and we as paying customers had to make unnecessary trips to choose flooring. Then, we had to wait two weeks, with nothing happening, and us always having to contact them. Then after one of the many calls to them about when work will begin, we find out the flooring we chose was no longer available and we had to drive down there again to choose. It took months before anything was even started, and then they damaged our property while moving it out of the house or back into it; I don't know for sure since they never notified us. The work was ok, but they had to return twice to fix issues we found. I will never use them again, and I wouldn't recommend them.
We own and manage a rental home that unfortunately burned in December 2017. Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, the house was almost totaled, just down to the foundation and many studs and a couple exterior walls. Renaissance worked with our insurance company in what appeared to be a seamless coordinated team effort to rebuild the home with the least amount of inconvenience to us. The longest wait was the city of Fresno's approval of the building plans...took about 2.5 months. While waiting for the city, Renaissance completed removed all of the damaged property so that when the permit was finally obtained, Renaissance was ready to start work immediately. Once started, they worked tirelessly to make our rental home absolutely perfect in every way. The home was completed in November 2018 and is now rented to a very happy family who love their "new" home. Renaissance made it possible. Thank you to the entire "family" at Renaissance for all of your help and support in rebuilding our rental so that's it's better than before it burned down.
I am a regular guy that has a small side business with my friend buying and renting houses in Fresno Ca. We unfortunately had a fire which totaled our rental property which was in a historical district in the city. The people at Renaissance streamlined the process for the rebuild, dealing with the insurance company and the city building inspectors and essentially allowed me and my business partner to relax and not worry... Which was much appreciated because we had no experience with a rebuild due to fire.
They work they did was outstanding and the property was upgraded which allowed us to later sell it and a significant profit. In addition to that, the rebuild cost more than we anticipated and they deferred complete payment for their work until we sold the property.. It honestly felt like we were in business with friends. I don t hope for anymore fires to any of our properties but if we have any, I wouldn t do business with anyone else besides John, Tamera and the rest of the crew at Renaissance. They are first class all the way around. I can t recommend them strongly enough!
Highly satisfied with the company from start to finish. Great communication during the whole process. It was a forced kitchen remodel & they were extremely helpful getting us through the ordeal. Workers did excellent work, wonderful attention to detail and great care of our property.
