We love our Remington home. This was our first time building so we were not sure what to expect, but the whole process was smooth and easy. Very high quality build and unique designs so you don't feel like you have a cookie cutter house. I highly recommend using them!

The builder addressed a drainage issue behind or residence which required a tear out of concrete.
If we wanted to change our residence, we would look at another Remington Home development.
We just built a townhome in Downtown Superior with Remington Homes. The whole building process was smooth and the superintendent we dealt with did a great job. Remington truly builds a quality home, and we are so happy to be living in one of their townhomes.

Remington Homes, a builder that does not honor its warranty. I have two instances where my basement has flooded because the waste pipe was not sealed per code. Two plumbing companies have verified that the plumbing is not to code, one being the builder s plumber. Remington s fix is to put bathtub caulk around the waste pipe on the inside of the basement. Needless to say that is but a temporary fix. To Ron Hauptman, do the right thing and deliver homes that don t flood. Fix this issue. It s been 11 months now.
We have purchased from Remington Homes twice. Both experiences were great for our family. If there were any issues Remington handled it right away. We would purchase from Remington again in the future.

I am in my 2nd Remington Home. I just love them. So well built. Good noise control. Beautiful on the outside and inside. The floor plans are well thought out. Whenever I had have some warranty work done the employees were prompt, respectful and do a great job.

Our family had a very smooth process with Remington homes. We had a little trouble replacing a few things, but overall it was a good experience building our home. We have lived in our house now for five years and we are still very happy. It is a high-quality built home. I have been to many other custom built homes and still feel Remington builds one of the best.
Our new Downtown Superior home is beautifully designed and well-constructed. It is bright and modern, with a spacious open floor plan and clean urban style. Remington addressed our list of minor issues with a thorough 60-day warranty repair program. A special shout-out to Shelly at Saddleback Design, whose guidance and expertise enabled us to customize our home to perfectly suit our tastes and stay within our budget. And also to Nate Freeman, who was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the entire process. We highly recommend Remington Homes.
We absolutely love our Remington home. The floor plan has worked out perfectly for us. Our visiting friends love the floor plan as well and comment how well laid out our home is. Remington is known as a high quality builder and our experience mirrors that sentiment
I am highly disappointed in Remington Homes and there customer service. There are 48 homes in my section and each and every home has been complaining about the AC units and how hot it is on their upper level. Remington is unwilling to attempt to fix the issue , saying well our numbers look fine. Their executives discount you once you sign the dotted line. They claim they are a family owned and value company but clearly not the case!
Remington built my home in Orchard Estates and they were a great builder. Every step of the process went well and was explained in advance. I even had a friend who was a superintendent with another builder walk through the house after framing, electrical, and pluming were finished and he said that they had done a great job. Would recommend them as a builder to anyone.
It's located in a historic part of the city, but it's not something I'm needing at the moment.
Emailed them over a week ago stating I wanted to build a house on my property...No response whatsoever.
We had such a negative experience with Remington Homes. From not communicating with us, not being truthful in the unopened concept design in the kitchen, to wrong quotes from the design center because they had the wrong phase 2 plans, not seeing our house plans for 4 months, to not keeping true on your word when we specifically asked worst case scenarios of one of us losing our jobs/income OR the economy collapses. We signed under false pretenses.
Let s start from the beginning.
June 16, 2019: Met with Remington homes to inquire about a new single family build in Downtown Superior.
Before we signed the contract, we met with Remington Homes TWICE to discuss some reservations. We specifically asked, on TWO separate occasions, what would happen if one of use lost our job/income and if the economy crashes. We were told twice, Remington are not monsters, we are willing to work with you if either of these scenarios do happen. We have returned deposits before. <--They gave us 2 examples of this.
Nov 18, 2019: Signed Contract
March 19, 2020: Finally Receive our design floor plans (We asked numerous times since signing the contract to see the floorplans, we added an extra bedroom and bathroom, they kept delaying)
March 17, 2020: Email to Remington: Design Center did not have the correct floor plan for our home. We spent over 4 hours picking out our materials, she couldn't get us specific pricing on anything. Could not quote us for the 4th bed/bath. Argued that there was carpet in the main floor living area, nothing laminate hardwood like we were told, tile and granite differed from what we were shown before we signed the contract. Still waiting on pricing info from Remington on a handful of items.
-Asked Remington to put things on hold, so we can get an accurate pricing and revisit so we can make a better decision.
March 24, 2020: Asked Remington if we can get the layout/view of the kitchen cabinets. I notice that there is some sort of wall or post in the kitchen. I email the same day to ask what I am looking at.
April 15, 2020: Remington confirms there is an added structural post on the island in the kitchen. This was never mentioned to us during the whole interaction with Remington. They clearly mentioned before/after we signed the contract, that the 2nd floor is the same as Phase One with the exception of the dining room moving over. No one ever told us of a structural beam. Around this time they also mention that the roof top deck has changed in design. This is TWO BIG DESIGN CHANGES!
During this time, we lost income (job) and a significant portion of assets due to COVID. We still wanted to move forward with the purchase of the home if Remington would come down in price, where we could afford it on one income.
May 6, 2020: Working on negotiating the price with Remington to buy the home. They were not able to come down enough in price, our only option is to not move forward with the house. Note that they have not even begun to break ground. We asked for our deposit back and they rejected it. We were SHOCKED! We tried reaching out numerous times to talk to them, and they ignored us. Completely ignored us.
May 15th, 2020: Our lawyer sent a Demand Letter, asking for mediation, which we are entitled to in our contract, they had 21 days to respond and we heard nothing back.
June 15, 2020: Since we have not heard back from Remington at all to talk about our options, we had to send a Demand Arbitration Letter.
June 24, 2020: Remington Homes sends us a letter stating that we are still on hook for the house, and we are in breach of contract for not choosing our finishes and giving them additional deposit. That we only have 2 options, pay the additional deposit or sign a letter stating that we void the contract. If we sign the letter to void the contract, then we are not entitled to arbitration. They literally cornered us.
No calls, no meetings, no emails. Silent. That is not how you conduct business. Remington homes truly do not care or have any empathy or compassion. Buyer Beware!
Really enjoyed the flexibility to customize our home. The sales team were accommodating and pleasant to work with. Would definitely buy another Remington home.
Love our home! It was a pleasure working with our salesperson as she explained everything very thoroughly. Jim Mason was very pleasant , patient and timely with answering all our questions during the building process! The design team was full of beautiful ideas!
Buyer beware! From the moment we purchased the home, before even moving in, we had only problems with Remington completing warranty work. Some minor issues and some very big issues. After 3 years and hiring an attorney, our garage floor is continuing to sink, our back door has continued to leak and cause damage (we have video of snow/rain blowing into our home) we have scratched glass on the study doors...the list could go on and on. I have video and documents to prove all claims. They have refused to reply to our attorney, costing us thousands of dollars and playing a very expensive game.
Looking through the other reviews, I see many were from The Hauptman family, their personal friends and current employees, clearly solicited.
Remington Homes is a crooked and untrustworthy builder that could cost you a lot of time and money.
We started the process of buying a new build with Remington Homes a little over a year ago. If you're looking for a semi-custom home, with the ability to customize and personalize any/every feature, they are the builder for you! Cathy & Lori were phenomenal, Jim & Jim were amazing. We were able to get the home of our dreams within our budget. We love our new home!
I purchased a townhome from Remington over a year ago and I love it! I've been impressed with the quality of construction, and the level of customer service. When we did our final walk through a year after purchase, I had very few items that needed to be addressed, they were fixed quickly and done professionally. I loved the layout of the house and the idea of low maintenance living, but was reluctant to purchase a townhome because I was worried I'd hear too much noise. I never hear my neighbors, and I'm so glad I purchased a Remington home.
We couldn't be more happy with our Remington home. Our family moved into our new home just over a year ago. The home has an open floor plan with high ceilings and beautiful windows throughout. From the initial floor plan selection to the variety of materials and options for customization we were able to craft our Remington home and make it our own. The construction schedule was outlined when we signed the contract and the company met all of the deadlines and we were and able to close and move in a month earlier than planned. I am a licensed professional engineer and we are very happy with quality of the construction and the attention to detail in the finish work. The few items that we asked to be addressed during the warranty period were resolved in a timely manner. We highly recommend this builder.

We built a house with Remington about 5 years ago and the overall experience was great. Cathy was our main sales contact and she was honest and very accommodating. She helped us with all of our choices and since Remington is a semi custom home builder we made a lot of custom additions. We also can not recommend our construction supervisor enough, Jim Mason is the best is the business. He is the main reason why we chose Remington. Jim helped us every step of the way and gave us some great ideas most of which we use everyday in our house. After 5 years we have had no issues with our home and we love the craftsmanship and custom additions we added.
Remington Homes built our home in Leyden Rock and we couldn't be happier. They were great from the start of the process through the building and the warranty period after we moved in. Cari Flint was great to work with to get the little things that needed taking care of during our first year in the house and beyond.
