Loved this place. Very educational. Especially loved the butterfly house. This was still early in the season and between blooming varieties. Summer and rose season would be beautiful. Definitely would go back. They have special activities for children also.

Little early for anything. Part of Gardens closed. Colors and plants in conservatory are a breath of fresh air. So gorgeous. Butterflies are captivating, as always. Can't wait for spring and summer.
I always enjoy Reiman. Whether it's the butterfly exhibit, Elwood the world's largest gnome, or the outdoor exhibits that are new each summer, Reiman is full of fun!
I grew up near Ames, and have been to Reiman Gardens several times. It is very well done, and has added several features and new garden areas as time has gone by.
There are buildings for tropical plants and butterflies, as well as generous grounds for the gardens. The facility has hosted several national touring displays, whether glass art or Lego sculptures. Benches and small shelters or pergolas can be found around the site for a respite.
There are also conference rooms and separate structures on the site for meetings or even smaller weddings, as well as a gift shop with snacks.
Awesome unexpected addition to our Ames trip. I might be a little biased as an Iowa State Alum but my 9 month old loved it. Weather was perfect and the tulips were in full bloom and perfect for pictures. My son loved the butterflies and his head was on a swivel the entire time so we couldn t get a good picture. It s jam packed with butterflies compared to other butterfly gardens I ve been to.
