Region Ale: House of Craft Brews, LLC Review

Okay...... So I'm not going to lie the first few times I came here within the first year of this place opening the service was not on par but everything else was great. Now at least a year later I have a come back at least a handful of times and the service is wonderful the food is great and drinks are awesome.

You also they have a great beer selection.
With having #2 pencil from 18th Street Brewery (being one of my favorites) it's awesome that they have it on tap!

Definitely will be back over and over!

While waiting for my neighbors to do some shopping, I stopped at Region Ale. My dog was with me and we enjoyed the patio. They brought out water for my dog and were super kind. I ordered a few tacos and they were delicious along with the selection of beer. Great atmosphere and even had light music playing outside.

This was one of the worst places I have ever received service at. They forgot to get us drinks MULTIPLE times, brought food but no silverware, took us 20 min to even get a fork. We ordered drinks that NEVER came. Took us about 30 min to pay the bill because we had to flag someone down to take our check. Took us 2 hours to have a small dinner & 1 drink. It was bad. I couldnt believe how bad it was.

I like that they have food on their menu that is "different"-not the same ole same ole!

Maybe better with time, but currently the service is pretty poor. On one visit, three of our dishes were dropped on the way. Large beer selection, but waitress does not know what they have. On first visit, had to leave my table to go look at digital menu on TV. On second visit they had added tablets, however I think they went as cheap as possible as all of us gave up and just used the TV.

If it arrives, the food is good though. The make your own Mac and cheese is probably my favorite.

Great place. Lots of local/regional beer to choose from. Nice service. Food wasn't much to write home about, but it was decent.

Region Ale Tap House has lots of beer! They do a great job displaying the beers on big screens, and their food is really good. I have only been there once so far but I will be returning.

Overpriced food that come in portions far too small for what you pay. Service is meh.

Bartenders are bad. Every time we go here bartenders sit and end of bar and chat with employees, lazy because they don't offer a food menu, lazy because they don't want to explain how some of the beers are. This place would be really cool because of the TV's, lots of beer choices, music and food but the bartenders ruin this place. All the bartenders are the worst in NW Indiana and all the ale houses. It amazes me Region Ale management allows the bartenders to push away customers which is why the bar is always empty. Every craft brew person I know complains about these bartenders too.

I do not write many reviews, but I am a big fan of Region Ale. We have probably been there over 40 times, and have always had great food and drinks, and a good time. They also have live music on many occasions and the staff is extremely friendly. I enjoy their burgers, but I have also tried the flatbreads (Down South is our favorite). My wife really likes the salads and the non beer drink options. Sometimes we just order the appetizers. Glad we found a local place where we can relax, have fun, meet friends for a drink, have a pleasant dinner, or stop in after a movie. I enjoy trying different beers, so I like to ask about the choices, and then I can try a sample. I usually order a flight of assorted beers from the local and regional brewers. Keep up the good work.

Food was great, beer was great. All they need is bottles of ketchup. You serve burgers and fries. Put out some damn bottles of kechup. You're not being cool or hip.

Went for a painting event. The server was nice and the band they had playing was good!

Enjoyed a delicious steak salad while listening to the wonderful music of a live band called " Cat Man Dog".

Great selection of beers, I recommend the Apricot blonde. The food was on point, I recommend the Mac and cheese (any kind/mixture) and the stuffed mushrooms.

We have been coming to this place for a long time now and every time we come the food, drinks, and music are on point.

Recently, we tried the cape shark strips and there were delicious.

The service was top notch. Annie was our waitress and she treated us like family. So much heart and soul in this place. Kevin and Steven both stopped by our table on several occassions to check in on us. I have not felt this welcome at a business in sometime. The food and the beer were outstanding. We will definitely be back and will tell friends to stop in. Glad to have Region Ale in Schererville.

Terrible service. First you walk in they tell you an hour wait then you order and they tell you an hour wait for your food. drinks took an hour to get. Good vibe though great music and the band was great. Just terrible service

Staff was friendly! Beer selection is good. Food was just ok.

Food is ok. Drinks re enjoyable but it is very loud. Have to almost scream to talk across the table

We were seated around 8:45pm with menus and waited for someone to take our order. 10+ minutes later not a single staff member had approached us. We decided to leave and told a staff member our issue, and we were brushed off. Never got to experience anything with this place but definitely will not be going back due to the extraordinarily poor customer service.

The food is really good. Steak poutine was great!, jambalaya too. We had a birthday party with about 30 people and the only waitress we had kept up great! They have regular beers for those not into the craft style. The main drawback is that they seem to run out of certain beers and food items way too much. It s a crapshoot when you order. Nice place overall.

Wanted to support local business during the pandemic...WAY overpriced and mediocre food. We'll support a different local business next time.

Great atmosphere and selection of craft beers. Clean and plenty of Tv's to enjoy Sports events.

I must say i was taken back at this place.
In my is a service animal..so right out the gate the hostess mentioned animals on the patio...we were okay with it then it dawned to us they didn't see the leash...(has service animal) so she asked the manager and said yes come on in ..we both said the patio is fine...and on top of that had a menu for the little bugar....awesome
But the typical clientele...your 20 somethings that get loaded during the day and the good ol boys with the cowboy hats on that looked that he wanted to say something but didn't....except that in Indiana i suppose

You'd expect an "Ale House" to have an extensive drink menu- not the case. The waitress told us they "didn't have enough" and instructed us to use our smart phone to google their drink menu. You'd also assume an Ale House would happily educate customers on beers that they hadn't heard of before, also not the case. The waitress rolled her eyes and got huffy when we asked for a flight of her choice of beers. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was dry and flavorless. I ordered a salad with no onions only to be given a salad covered in onions. I also spilled my glass of wine, and when I asked for more napkins she came back with two- didn't sop up the mess. The waitress also made a big show about "not charging us extra" for another glass of wine, even though the first glass wound up on the floor...that's just common sense. We left unsatisfied and confused

Great food, broad beer selection, and awesome service. Matt was our server, and he gave excellent service. We had hamburgers, Mac and cheese, and bbq ribs. Sooooo good! A great selection of local craft beer. Live music by the very talented Sinovi. So much fun. I can't wait to come back.

Went on a Thursday night when they have people play live music, the volume from the football game and the music made it hard to have a conversation without having to yell.

Ok, gotta admit I've been all over the region, and they have the best selection of craft beer around. Food is decent, service is excellent..

1st time visit and not the last. Me and my boyfriend love a good bar with a wide range of beers and they have it all. The food was so good especially the sweet potato fries. Had a great server and a great time.

I have never ever seen such poor service. We got sat in bar area on fathers day afternoon just my boyfriend and I. Server came over african american male with dreads..dont know his name cause he never introduced himself or welcomed us. He got our drinks and we ordered poutin with pulled pork as appitizer. And tht is the last we seen our server. 25 mins no appetizer...he never came back to even take our entree order. And now 30 mins and still no appitizer. I tried to wave the server down and he just kept walking no even pay any attention. So aggravated at this point I get up and go to the very nice bartender amd asked to speak to a manager. Waited 10 mins and now no manager...tht was the last straw. Left $5 for the drinks we ordered cause there wasnt even a chance to ask for a bill....didnt want the appitizer after 35 mins at this point and no communication. So we left.....poor poor service the worst ever. Management was not any better.!!!!!!

Food was dreadful. Not cooked to order, missing ingredients, dry and had no flavor. Tough as old boots.

Simply delicious food. They apparently hold weekly trivia games on various TV shows and movies. When we went they were doing sex in the city. The 30 women playing seemed like they were having a great time. Though I was lost. Our server was amazing and quite nice. And the bartenders served up a pretty good winerita. That's a margarita with s high alcohol content wine. First time I had it and I was skeptical at first. But it was delicious and got a good buzz. 5/5 would recommend again

Went in there with my family around 4pm. There were like 3 other patrons at the bar. We helped ourselves to a table as the sign stated please seat yourself and we waited 5-7 minutes for SOME sort of service. We didn t get a hello or anything.

We just got up and left. No effort done. Just jabbering off to her coworker.

Won t return here. Which is sad cause I d been looking forward to a trip here for awhile now.

Great beer menu. We have been there three times now but unfortunately the service stays consistently poor (very slow, given outdated beer menus, food made in correctly from menu, servers not knowledgeable, tables are not cleared off until requested several times).

Always quality service and food. I enjoy the large selection of local craft beers.

Unfortunately the place was empty when it should has been packed. My friend and I enjoyed the tacos, blackened chicken and shrimp. Our waiteperson was Great. She made me a cocktail that was to die for. The beer selection was phenomenal. They really deserve another try.

Best poutine around. Always a nice selection of craft beers. Love that the menus change. Sat at. the bar and Angela is very knowledgeable about the beers. Very attentive. Also enjoy outdoor seating on a nice day. Great place all around!

Been here twice and food has been great both times and beer selection is always pretty damn good. Hard not to want to drink 5 beers every time I go
