Wow amazing! They make their own vegan dashi in house, which brings this awesome richness you won t find elsewhere.

I can recommend just about everything on the menu, and you can t go wrong with just making your own bowl and picking out all of the things that look good to you! The chilled summer ramen with kale ramen served in a ramen sauce is the seasonal special and worth stopping in for.

Always clean and always such amazing service. 5 stars is not enough :)

These guys are doing innovative stuff and bringing a real Japanese flair to the vegan scene here in Boston. Thanks!

Decent portions, good noodle texture, and good enough broth for a vegetarian style - but let's not kid ourselves, we're still in Boston. The dragon's breath is full of peppery spice akin to white pepper or shichimi togarashi; not as pleasant in large quantities as you might think, even for the most dedicated spice junkies. Also, ignore the pictures, it doesn't look like that.

So... it is vegan. We went for COVID date-night for take out, and my partner is like, where is the meat Raman? The employee explained... Vegan. I had looked for a Raman place with the highest reviews... so we ordered and mused that all the vegans are saying, yes- these vegan noodles are just like real noodles... which if you know vegans and their oddball attempts at recreating animal-products with celery and gluten-powder (unless they re also gluten or celery-free)... made us just kind of laugh at the fact we just spent $25 for two bowls of meat-free noodles aimed at the upper-class dietary elite (sorry rest of the planet for that). But honestly- the noodles were good. The to go bowls are cool because they separate the broth from the topping- so remember to mix them together. But for a vegan place it was spectacular! For a noodle place it was still really good and as we were Turkey-logged from thanksgiving... it was sort of a cleanse. I would probably go back.

In this nice fast-food restaurant at the end of Newbury Street you can eat extremely delicious Japanese vegan bowls at completely normal prices. Extremely healthy and extremely tasty. The staff is extremely friendly. A real recommendation!

This place is so delicious and so good! First, the sauces are exceptionally good - ask to try before you choose if it's your first time. My two favorites are the Monk Curry and the Ginger + Cilantro, and they let you mix both in the same bowl. Second, the rice itself is wonderful. They call it "red rice" and "white rice" as the options but each one has so much more delicious bits to them than just the rice (which is perfectly cooked). Third, hidden secret that I appreciate every time, if you ask, they are happy to give you less rice so that you can have more of the super greens (e.g., if you are trying to up your veg intake or have a lower carb intake) as the "base" of the bowl. Fourth, the other veg toppings are super fresh. As if it's just come off the stove. Fifth, the staff are SO friendly and welcoming - we saw them serve kids, adults, when it was a rush, when it was quiet etc - consistently great. Wish this place was even closer to where we live!

The workers there are super friendly and ready to explain the menu, you have a few choices to select from mainly vegan ramen soups and 2 non soup based bowls

The porcini-based ramen soup in and of itself is not fantastic - I can't really seem to distinguish the flavors of the broth other than that it's quite salty: it does have a very thick texture with a bit of a grainy feel I suspect due to a lot of vegetable or mushroom bits.

The real saving grace though is the noodles - thick, chewy, and in great abundance, I enjoy the noodles much, much more than the soup itself.

The dragon's breath one is nice and spicy (could be spicier). The miso one I was surprised does not really have any miso flavor compared to the miso ramen I had in Japan, but that could be because the mushroom soup overpowers the miso.

Overall, a very nice addition to Newbury, regardless of the soup I'll be visiting often.

Red White provides a wonderful Japanese culinary experience while managing to be completely vegan. Not only were the meals enticing, but overwhelmingly delicious. The two young chefs working here are kind and take pride in their cuisine. This was my first time coming here and I know I ll be back with friends and family soon.

Very tasty vegan rice and noodle bowls. Everything can be customized and there is a variety of more or less spicy toppings. Very friendly staff too. Wished there were more outdoor seating spaces.
