Very good food and a beautiful setting. Gorgeous views.

If there was the possibility to put 6 or 7 stars I would. Marybeth the owner and Joe the bartender are the best possible people I could have ever eaten with. I'm just some random guy that came into this upscale establishment with a graphic tee shirt. Let me tell you this is the best PORK CHOP I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Wet and soft all the way through and full of flavor, served with some incredible spinach and bread pudding. Joe the bartender made me 3 drinks not on the menu when I asked him for a surprise, he came up with the most creative and appealing drinks that just force your brain into a state of satisfaction. Great service, kind people, personable atmosphere. Seriously ask Joe the bartender for a surprise drink, he never let's you down, dont tell him I said this lol.

EDIT: In addition JOE made me a custom cocktail that COMPLEMENTS the taste of the pork chop!!!!

Scenery is gorgeous and food was nice but the way owner treats staff was very poor. Just too bad. It ruined the appetite. Owner was too arrogant and I felt sorry for the staff.

Get there by 6pm to get a reservation outside. By the time you sit you'll have dinner with a sunset. Of course during Spring/Summer seasons.

The food is amazing here and the service was grand. The staff is very friendly and everything on their menu taste pretty delicious.

Came on a wed night and everything was amazing. Got seated right away, didn't have to wait. The service was great, very attentive and the food came out very promptly. Every thug was very good, the swordfish was cooked perfectly. And the desert key lime pie was fantastic. Overall would recommend to friends and would definitely come back.

Location is beautiful. Love the coziness and views. The food was disappointing. I really wanted to love it and find a new favorite place. We ordered the heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad, tuna tartare and the duck confit to start. Cant go wrong with mozz an tomato, tuna tartare had zero flavor, duck confit was ok but the mustard sauce was what saved it. We also ordered a dirty martini and the cucumber muddled gin - not bad on the drinks.
At this point though I was a bit concerned about the entrees so I tried to go a bit safe and went with the braised lamb and the NY strip. The steak came medium well (ordered medium) and the braised lamb and risotto were very bland, lacked any flavor.
We wanted to experience it all so we ended with the creme brulee and cappuccinos. Prob best part of dinner. Overall I wouldn't return, I was sad I didn't love it.

Food is just ok. But the view sitting outside can't be beat for lunch.

Restau very well located near Tarrytown on the edge of Hudson, very pleasant terrace to enjoy the view of the Hudson and room very friendly for the evening ... a little expensive but chic, very good cuisine already refined.

Beef Bourguignon...straight from Julia Child's kitchen! The view...to me soaked up by your appreciative eyes!

Wonderful views. Great food. Reasonable prices. Large portions. I went with a group for lunch. Some of us wanted to share entrees and the kitchen split them for us. Staff very accommodating. A short walk to the Metro North Irvington train station .

Attended a wedding here. Absolutely stunning views from every angle. The food and service could not have been better.

There for a work event. Had a terrific dinner. Crabcake was amazing and the chimichurri sauce for the steak was incredible.

One of my favorite local restaurants for date night or fun night out with friends. Food is consistently high quality, fresh and delicious. Service is always excellent. I highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Food was ok. Kinda pricey for the quality. Ive had food elsewhere for cheaper that was much better. And the wait was pretty long even though I made a reservation. I understand they were running behind, So I saw past it.

Gorgeous space. Delicious food. Great hosts. Perfect spot for a special meal. Nice looking bar inside, tables on the patio, & the rooftop cocktail bar is definitely worth a visit in the Summer!

This place has an awesome view of the Hudson River but that isn't all. Their steak frites, caesar salad and mussels were awesome and so was the service. The price is about what you would expect for 5 star service. Would definitely go back.

Grossly overpriced food and drinks. Our bill for two people $163.00 with tip which included one mixed drink , one beer, an entree which included 1 1/2 sausages , and a second entree that included a half chicken breast. For dessert was 1 $11 thin slice of key lime pie. Admittedly It does have a view second to none but I think Mp taverna is a much smarter choice. MP taverna is in the same development as Red Hat. Just my two cents....

Is the only reason why I would want to go back to new york

Drinks and appetizers were very good and our meal was excellent as well. Service was exceptional (Mynor was our server)and the owner Jimmy was very friendly and happy to make sure we had a pleasant experience. We will be back in the warm weather to enjoy the views on the waterfront.

Decent food but could do better for the high pricing. Prices fit the neighbourhood but not the cuisine. Also the Irish waitress seems sweet but also a little pretentious.

First time at the red hat. Loved every minute of the experience. Food was fabulous view was fabulous, and every one of the staff couldn't have been nicer. Will return as soon as possible.

Pros- Beautiful setting and views. Great Sunday brunch. Use organic ingredients when available. Outdoor seating when weather permits. Cons- parking although free can be difficult if busy. Reservations highly recommend especially during peak hours. I would have given five stars except our server brought out the wrong dish for one of two orders placed.

We had reservations for 2 at 1:30 -- very rainy day 6/8/16 -- we pulled into the parking lot at 1:20 and were asked where we were going - told the gent Red Hat and was immediately told there were NO more parking places for Red Hat..and there were not on the street---needless to say we went elsewhere.

Could not believe that for a restaurant of this caliber that they were not required to have sufficient parking for the amount of people they could accommodate. Not pleased at all

The reason you go out to dinner is to have a special dish that you usually wouldn't make. This was the dish! Slow cooked lamb shank, soft and tender in delicious sauce!

Nice place, good food good service. Although when we tried to make a reservation for 5 for early dinner, 5:30, they told us there was no room. When we arrived the place was empty. They then made room for us upstairs. It too was empty. We left close to 7 pm. Still the place was not busy. This was on a Friday evening. All in all it was good.

Great people and wonderful food. The customer service is first class. Owners are great people and really care about their clientele.

couldn't tell you about the food this is the second time I attempted to get there and was not permitted to park in the parking lot. I refuse to park on the other side of the railroad tracks and and walk. I will definitely not attempt it again

This spot is worth a try. They serve large portions for affordable prices. Constantly clean and with awesome atmosphere. Will come back again.

Bring a fat WALLET...PHONY OWNERS will try to kiss your butt....then steal your wallet. I have ZERO plans to return to this Hell Hole. Place smelled moldy as well.

Where to begin? First off I didn t think we were dressed nice enough but when I asked the hostess she was more than happy to seat us anywhere we liked, so we chose the bar. It has commanding views of the small dining room along with beautiful river views. Behind the bar we met Liz, who might be the best bartender/server I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was attentive without being overbearing, made excellent recommendations and had a personality that made us feel right at home. We can t wait to get back to check out the rooftop and front patio along with some great cocktails and food.

I can't believe this gem has been around for 16 years and I never knew! What a great way to spend a weekday afternoon ---lunch with a spectacular view!
