I have not been to the Brewery yet. I did get the chance to try this amazing beer called Devil's Backbone with Black cap on bottle. At 300 BBQ in Blanco TX..It is light in color just like a Pale Ale should be. But does have a slight taste of a dark beer but not over powering. Note: Dark beers to me have way to much after taste like old rubber bands after taste....Devils Backbone its good ...taste fantastic kind of like a Belgian white wheat very smooth.

I really like his place and visit it whenever I am in the area, beer selection isn t the biggest but what they do have is fantastic and there is something for every taste. Also have their own distilled gin and whisky. I can vouch that the Gin is great. Staff are friendly and the place has a great buzz/energy. Fully recommend a visit

With so many breweries in Austin, it can be tough ...

With so many breweries in Austin, it can be tough to justify driving an hour out of town to go to one single brewery. But the trip to Real Ale is absolutely worth it. The facility is new, has plenty of parking, and the indoor tasting room is well-equipped to handle groups so you can carpool with friends. There's also some outdoor seating, which appeared to be mostly shaded throughout the afternoon.
The tap offerings include all of their familiar brews that you can find in stores in addition to seasonal beers and my personal favorite... beers from the Mysterium Verum program. These barrel-aged, more experimental beers can be found in some craft beer bars in Austin and San Antonio, but they're so much more satisfying to drink in the spot where they were made.
If you're making the trip, be sure to be there when a tour is going on. The guide was extremely knowledgeable on the brewing process and focused on what makes Real Ale different (as opposed to the standard "this is how you make beer" tour that you get at so many breweries).
The only slight inconvenience is that there isn't food on-site or nearby, so be sure to grab a bite on the way over or bring a picnic. You'll want to sit and stay for a while, so be prepared!

This four star rating is not on the beer, the beer is amazing and taste so good. It is on the customer service at the tasting bar. We went in and the girl at the bar was completely rude. There were four people back there just interested in their own conversation and annoyed to help the customer when interrupted. Will continue to buy the beer but wouldn t go back to the tasting room.

If the drive isn't an issue for you, this is definitely a great place to come! I think their beers are pretty good (always liked their Fireman's 4), but if we're judging on the brewery itself and its tastings I love it. Free samples! Drawback is you get a small sampling cup but you can't complain about something that's free. Their Real Ale swag is also reasonably priced.

Their anniversary party was fantastic and impressed me with the variety and quality of their brews which expanded way beyond their more common (still great) varieties that I was familiar with beforehand. While there, I sampled a majestic sour beer that blew me away - I really wish that I could remember the name of said liquid-gold. Ah, well! Next year.

I'm glad they have reached out to north Texas via places like flying saucer and specks. Overall they produce memorable brews, fireman's 4 a crowd favorite and my personal fav is Rio Blanco pale ale. I have been to the brewery and while it was crowded it was still a fun environment and it was good to see that I wasn't the only one who enjoyed their products.

Beer is great but the service situation is atrocious. 3 bartenders working a crowded house and they're spending all their time making mixed drinks and micheladas. Waited at the bar for over ten minutes just to get a beer.
