Readorium Review

I am a teacher with 15 years experience, and I had the opportunity to use Readorium with my students. The program is fantastic! It is well-designed to individually support students as they develop the skills of successful and independent readers. The focus on non-fiction text was especially important, as this is the genre that students often find most challenging. My students found Readorium fun and engaging. The program's built-in reward system motivated my most reluctant readers. I saw my students make strides in their reading stamina and skills with Readorium!

I worked for Readorium briefly a few years ago and am still impressed by the quality of the material they put out. The team takes great care in ensuring that their scientific writing is both accurate and accessible to kids learning to read.

Brienza's Academic Advantage is an academic solutions organization working in partnership with schools to provide educational interventions, tutoring programs and support to students in schools. Over the last few years, we have utilized Readorium as one of our top choices for our in school programs. As seasoned educators, we selected this programs for our students for many reasons. Readorium Scholar and Readorium Rising Reader are both research-based and aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core's increased focus on informational text.

The program is very successful in providing students from diverse backgrounds and academic skills the support they need to improve their reading skills. The program is designed to be engaging while meeting the student at their current reading level. As the student participates in the program, the difficulty and mastery level increase. This Readorium approach, move students to a higher reading level upon completing different levels within the platform.

This program is very engaging, increases student's independence skills while learning. Readorium provides ongoing assessments for the users, which is data-driven, it meets the needs of my at-risk readers, and helps gives students the confidence to succeed.

Readorium has been a helpful tool in increasing my students' ability to comprehend nonfiction text. Having used the software for over a decade, in two different districts, it continues to produce solid evidence that the students are better readers for having used the program.

Being a science teacher, and a certified reading specialist, I understand the value of the Readorium approach from both perspectives. Now, as a district superintendent, Readorium continues to play an important part in my students' reading growth.

Readorium is a fantastic program. One of the best things about it is that the books adjust to varying levels of reading comprehension so all students are able learn the science content. The material is fun and interesting, and a lot of thought is put into what gets written and how it is presented. And the guides are engaging and make the learning process feel more personal. You can tell just from using the program that everyone who worked on it really cares about making education the best it can be for every student.

I have been in education for over 25 years. I have worked as a tutor, teacher and as an administrator. I have used and implemented Readorium in all of those capacities. Students ENJOY the stories and the format and, as an educator, I get immediate feedback on how the student is doing and suggestions and methodologies in how to best help that student take the next important step in their reading and comprehension skills. I have not seen a program like this... highly recommended.

As a Reading Specialist for many years I would search for interesting nonfiction text for my students.
I wanted the text to immediately engage the students and create curious and life long readers.
Struggling readers, and students still learning how to read, reach middle school with different levels of confusion. They have not had much success and many teachers don t know how to assist them with their inefficient problem solving techniques. In addition, many of these students are lacking the vocabulary and understanding, especially in science.
The Readorium structure and sequence takes students through interesting and fascinating readings in science. The different levels and types of questions are: stimulating, teach students how to go back into the text to find answers, directs them with gentle help if needed, and gives students positive feedback. Every area of science is addressed and explored through this interactive program.
I have witnessed many reluctant readers gain confidence, learn to love reading, and choose to read at home! Reading levels increased, along with comprehension skills. The level of background knowledge acquired is astounding, and students were selecting nonfiction books on their own from the library!
It is pure joy witnessing the positive changes in the students who were considered to be at risk.

I have been using Readorium for the past 5 years with my science classes and in my 16 years of teaching science, Readorium is one of the best programs I have used for increasing reading comprehension and vocabulary in the content area. There is a large selection of books for each area of science and each book is tailored individually based on a student s reading level and the questions that they get correct. What I like best about Readorium is the many features it has to keep all my students engaged. When students get questions correct and complete books, they earn Readorium dollars and tokens that they can use to play games within the program, read interesting science magazine articles, and watch neat science videos. Each time I use Readorium with my classes, I put the Readorium dollar standings on the SmartBoard and the students are constantly asking me to refresh it based on the amount they increased every few minutes for getting questions correct. There is a competitive nature to the program for the students, which makes it fun for them to learn. I highly recommend using Readorium--your students will have fun while they become better readers and improve their scientific knowledge.

I have been using Readorium for the past few years with my Science classes. It is an excellent reading program. Not only do the students love reading the science articles, they love the extras that are included in the program.
