We had to go through them for a proposal to buy a business. We also knew well the person selling. Raymond Chabot are far far from being transparent from letters opening day to daily business. They didn t like the offers of the table, so after letters opening, they reached out to other business/competitors and they DENIED doing so (one of the business who received a call from them is a friend of the family!! Little did they know!). They are in for the money, and they make sure they get paid first (that one is normal when you deal with bankruptcy). But their gorgeous offices and meeting rooms in downtown Montreal need to get paid for by people who are already suffocating financially. It is really puzzling how much they charge without seeing what they have done during that time. The lack of transparency really turned me off, especially when their competitors are a LOT more transparent. Businesses in difficulties need to shop around before to choose, not all business recovery are equal.
RESPONSE TO THE OWNER s RESPONSE: I believe in doing it right the first time. This should not be changed just for the file in question but for all the files that Raymond Chabot in Montreal handle. I feel bad for the company in question. Remember to be ethical and transparent and you will be a better company!
