I don t write reviews ever! I had tree fall on my house. The claims agent Susie K. Told my wife today that they sue their policy holders often for using their own contractors. What !!!! This is absolutely nuts!!! She also said that they were going to get a structural engineer to look at the house, but two days later we got a quote instead. So far I m terrified on how this project is moving along. I get the feeling that the desk agents bonus is tied into using their own construction company.

I'm not one for giving bad reviews, in fact I mostly get on here to give good ones , but I feel like I have to warn people about this company. Customer service rep was abhorrent! I can't say the words on this review I wish to speak. Don't hesitate to pay a little extra for the real person to person service you get with a real local agent. Plus their prices creep up without any real review of your policy. 2 star is generous.

Very difficult to deal with. They contract out all of their repairs so you are not allowed to choose your local companies for repair work. The contractor they have chosen is Rapid Response who in turn contracts out the job to the lowest cost team ... good luck on quality of work or timely repairs or even on time show up dates.

Excellent customer service and excellent response times to my wind claim. The process of me getting a new roof was so much easier than I ever thought it would be. They followed up weekly with me as well to ensure I was happy with the process/progress. Highly recommend!

I WAS a "Florida" policy holder. Let me start with, they have poor customer service. And the website is basic and out of date and was down more than it was up. Especially the payment portion of the site. Prices are not competitive and are far and above other companies. Please let me save you time and frustration.
Look elsewhere.

What company takes your money for insurance so you can buy a house when it was inspected and passed, only to turn around and tell you that you no longer will be covered unless you get an entire roof? This company is a joke and full of thieves who try to just capitalize on the commission. Stay far away, too many insurance companies with far better name and reputation. Bait and switch professionals here.

If there were more options for how poorly they treat their customer to. choose from, I would. They just always seem to find out how to avoid paying out any claim.
Case in example: I had one of the most respected/reliable roofing companies in the area come out to do a roof inspection as I felt there was some damage over the years (I had a small hole patched from falling debris and some other issues). They had their person spend almost two hours inspecting the roo, took over 300 photographs of damage and provided an extensive, printer, documented report and suggested I call the insurance company, which I did. They wanted to send their own inspector and specifically stated they would NOT ALLOW my roofer to be present during their inspection, which is out of the ordinary. They of course denied the claim. Flash forward 2 months, I get a letter stating my roof no longer meets their underwriting standard , I had less than 30 day to replace it. I called them explaining that it was almost impossible to get a contractor in that time frame, they said, don t worry, just get it replaced before renewal. $ weeks later I get a letter stating they would not renew my policy. Two weeks after that, I get water damage in my house, I make a claim, they send out another adjuster, again, no roofer allowed, and they say they will cover the inside damage but the roof is fine (even thought they had stated there had been a wind event July7th). When they decide to approve the claim, they do so under my HURRICANE deductible saying a hurricane hit Florida (but was NO WHERE NEAR JACKSONVILLE), and when I asked them to provide proof, they said they would not I could Google the information myself. The Desk Adjuster, Tracy Harris was rude and somewhat short tempered when I asked her to explain if there was no damage from wind, why would the hurricane deductible rather then my normal deductible apply, she said she would have to send it to another desk and I will hear back. But as usual, it will take at least 4-5 calls and emails to get any response. Oh yeah, and if they do accept your claim, you are required to use THEIR contractors, which they will not provide names, references or any other information. This company is beyond bad, they are simply a Ripoff.

No way this company should have 4 stars. Search Yelp and see what you find. I had them for 2 yrs. Never a claim, but given the reviews sure glad I didn't. They managed to screw up my renewal so my coverage lapsed without their notification, then upon finding this out 8 days after the lapse and per my request to renew, they said no. Well, best for both of us! I'm gladly taking my business elsewhere and will pay a bit more for piece of mind that a claim will actually be paid...per all the reviews.

Absolutely NOT a company you can rely on! We had water damage resulting from a burst pipe. Claims adjuster came out to inspect the damage and estimated cost of repairs at $1800. Our deductible was $2000, so claim was denied. This was completely fine and understandable until I started shopping around to find someone to do the repairs. Could not find anyone at all to do the repairs for under $5k. We got quoted as high as $30k. Also, every repairman was so swamped that we were looking at repairs being done no sooner than 2 months.
Then we get a letter from People's Trust saying that they needed proof of repairs within 1 month, or we would be dropped. So not only did they weasel out of paying any claim by drastically underestimating the cost of repairs, but they were now threatening to drop us if we didn't repair the damage ourselves immediately.
Not too long after this, our policy renews. And get this, the icing on the cake: our premium increased by over $1000 because we lost our "claims free discount." That's right. They denied the claim, paid nothing, threatened to cancel us, and then increased our premium even though they paid nothing. Moral of the story: DO NOT PURCHASE HOME INSURANCE WITH PEOPLE'S TRUST. Unlike their name, they are not to be trusted!
