Ramaquois Day Camp Reviews

We sent both our children to Camp Ramaquois and couldn t have had a better experience!!! There is legit no better day camp in our area. The owners and staff are extremely caring and beyond professional and it s because of them that our children had this incredible experience for many years. Even during this pandemic they went beyond the call of duty for us to make sure we were treated as family and not just another camper like most camps. We highly recommend anyone looking to send their children to day camp that this is the place hands down...ty for everything!!!

This camp is an absolute dream. It s as if you have stepped back in time to how things used to be ... should be.. class, respect, service - true old fashioned values, true old fashioned all American family business.

My son has jumped out of bed every morning to catch the bus for the last 4 summers and comes home happy, full and tired. This was a kid that cried everyday his first few years of school.

He loves the kids, the counselors, the activities... the trips, the entire camp! A camp paradise..there truly isn t anything not to love.

He s done and learned things that matter ... how to just play... make friends... make things with his hands out of wood... hit a ball... run around outside... be responsible... be independent... and NOT stare at a screen any of the day.

As a mom all of that means everything to me but Camp Ramaquois also makes MY summer awesome too. From the way they run the bus back and forth - door to door!!!! to the notes from home to the uniforms and so much more. But I have to say the towel service is one of my favorite things that truly illustrates how well thought out every detail is. What a simple pleasure to not have wet towels come home every day adding to my laundry!

We have sacrificed for a long time to send our kids to a great private school for many reasons including where it is we live... but I have said many times this private school could learn a lot about how to run things from Camp Ramaquois. They don t even come close to treating us the way Ramaquois does as a family, as people.

I know when you read reviews people will take things with a grain of salt but I couldn t have been more honest about how I feel about Camp Ramaquois and every single person I ve ever dealt with from there has exceeded any expectations I could ever have had.

Finally, at Camp Ramaquois you truly get what you pay for (almost nonexistent these days no?) plus you get much much more, extended family and a summer home away from home.

Luc can t wait to do it all again this summer! And next year he wants to be a counselor in training!

Camp Ramaquois is truly a special place for our family. It was a tough summer without camp operating due to the pandemic, but we appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into this tremendous decision not to open. The directors emphasized the safety of every camper and staff member which was much appreciated. We did enjoy a family day at camp in August, with our own private pool/lifeguard and air conditioned bunk, which was a real treat! We are very much looking forward to summer 2021 back at Camp Ramaquois!

Camp Ramaquois has always been a place I could call home. As a camper and staff member I had the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and professional skills. I would highly recommend Camp Ramaquois for their commitment to camping excellence and care for campers and staff.

You can't get any better than Ramaquois! From the first moment we visited, we knew this was the place where we wanted our 3 sons to spend their summer days. And we have never regretted our decision. Amazing staff that goes above and beyond to make the children feel like family. An incredibly engaging schedule that promotes friendship, confidence and creativity. Fantastic food options with meticulous attention to cleanliness and allergies (which one of our sons has). They have it all covered from A to Z. I couldn't be more pleased with the camp experience they provide. My kids cry for weeks when its over and spend the entire fall/winter/spring talking about how they can't wait to go back. Ramaquois rocks!

Camp Ramaquois is an amazing place that my kids love to call their "summer home" each year! The administrators work incredibly hard all year long to make the summer months loads of fun for ALL of the campers. I know that I am sending my kids off each day to a safe environment with caring and friendly staff.

Ramaquois finds a way to bring children's different interests into a fun supportive adventure! They have a blast at so many activities, make new friends and even sneak in valuable life lessons lol. Many counsellors are former campers so it's really a comfortable atmosphere. And with such amazing grounds, parents will want to be campers too!

I attended Camp Ramaquois for 16 years (both as a camper and counselor) and if I could go back and do it all again I would in a heartbeat! Thanks to the amazing staff, activities, and friends Ramaquois was more than just a camp, but a summer home. Some of my very best memories were made at Camp Ramaquois, and I would highly recommend to all!

I'm so lucky to have shared many years at Camp Ramaquois as a camper, counselor, and full time staff member. Camp Ramaquois is perfection! The grounds are beautiful and immaculate while offering endless activities. The staff is organized, responsive and well trained. The Camp Ramaquois team ensures every child has a positive experience while learning new skills every day!

This is absolutely the place to send your children.This camp is a GEM. I have sent two children here and wish I could have gone here myself. The staff is responsive and caring. My sons learned confidence, experienced new things, made great friends, and the food was great. From the moment the kids step on the bus til the second they get off the bus they had a great time. I always felt that the kids were safe. I never worried for a second. SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!

Camp Ramaquois has provided a fantastic camping experience for my children. The staff are professional, responsive and above all they love the campers. The days are event packed and they really do provide a sleep away camp experience. This year they made the difficult decision to remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Financially this must have been very difficult as they make their entire annual revenue over the summer months. They chose the safety of "our children" and staff over profits which is highly commendable. I can't say enough wonderful things about this Camp and their staff.....I trust them with my children , what else can I say.....

I highly recommend Camp Ramaquois. My son started there when he was around 7 or 8 and LOVED it! We decided to try sleep away camp and that was a disaster for him. He return to Ramequois the next summer and was greeted with positive energy and love! He has never looked back! He hopes to be there for as long as he can! Ramaquois is his summer home away from home!

10 months for 2! That is all I hear in my house from all 3 of my children. We have been part of the Ramaquois Family for 9 years! My kids start counting down for the first day of camp in September! It is such a great experience for the children, I am just sad I cant go too!

There is no other place in the world that I would rather spend my summers. Being a counselor at Camp Ramaquois for the past six years has given me some of my best friends as well as the chance to be able to grow as a leader and mentor for children. Camp Ramaquois has become a true home for me and I cannot imagine my life without it.

Camp Ramaquois has been my home away from home for almost 11 year. This camp is the happiest place on earth. You really create a strong bond between friends and counselors that last will probably last a lifetime. The camp is well taken care of and everyone wants to make you feel happy and secure there. The food there is amazing to go along with it!! The activities are so fun and creative. You will learn valuable skills like swimming and sportsmanship. So if your thinking of going to this camp I really do think it s a great choice!!

don't come to this camp for the first time at an older age. Everyone has already made friend groups if you go around the ages of 12. Especially the girls are very exclusive and if your not in the "group" camp sucks. You have almost no freedom except for one period a day and sometimes your division has something else planned, so you can't even do the activity you want. Your counselors usually force you to do activities you don't want to do. Ramaquois?? More like Ramamiserable. The activities are boring and annoying to do. the motto there is "better than a sleep away camp" but personally I think any sleep away camp, even if there was no electricity and you lived in tents would even be better than Ramaquois.

We went to family camp at Camp Ramaquois this past weekend and it was the highlight of the summer. The kids were excited to be on the Ramaquois ground again. We played on the playground, Gaga, basketball, walked all around the camp and had our children take and pass the deep water challenge with the lifeguard. It was nice to have our own private bunk, pool with lifeguards and shaded picnic area to eat lunch. Excited to go back for 2021.

Camp Ramaquois is such a special place! All 3 of my kids attend camp at Ramaquois and they absolutely LIVE for it! It is by far, one of their favorite places to be. They can't wait for summer because every day at Ramaquois is fun and exciting. The leadership and counselors at camp go above and beyond to make sure the kids are happy and that parents are kept in the loop. My kids, my husband and I all LOVE Camp Ramaquois!

Camp Ramaquois is more than just a camp. It s a place where best friends are united, your best memories are made, and your best moments happen. I even met my soon-to-be wife there! I highly recommend Camp Ramaquous... I m looking forward to sending my kids there in the future!

I cannot express how much Ramaquois has meant to me and my family. It is our happy place- our home away from home. Camp Ramaquois is a wonderful place for children. It is a well rounded camp with nurturing and attentive staff. I spent 11 years there as a camper and several more as a counselor. I made life long friends and have the most amazing childhood memories. There was no question Camp Ramaquois would be where my children s summer home would be. In the three summers my daughter has spent at Ramaquois she has already made lasting memories and has developed wonderful friendships. In addition she has developed more confidence and become an excellent swimmer. I can not wait for my son to join her this summer.

A "hidden" gem. Only about 40 minutes from NYC your kids are transported to a camp that is truly 5 stars! Not only is it a gorgeous setting but the staff , is totally invested in having your campers have an amazing experience, and the original owners are still actively involved and there everyday to make sure things run perfectly, along with great right hand people-Jared, and Phil, who are the best! It truly is a day camp that is like a SleepAway camp, with the range of activities and they are always adding to them. There is truly something for every kid, which makes it a great solution if you have kids with different strengths. The staff is amazing like I mentioned, and is great at communicating giving you updates or contacting you immediately if you had any concerns. Lunch is provided and happens to be delicious! There are trips that they have for older campers so that they get a little taste of an overnight experience. We travel far to come to this camp as there is truly nothing like it out there, a truly special place.

Having spent the last 11 years with Camp Ramaquois split as a camper and counselor, it has truly become my summer home. With a caring and passionate staff, campers consistently look back at their summer with memories that bring them back for the following year. The motto around camp is "we wait 10 months for 2" and nothing could be truer for the staff and campers who return every year. Each summer at Ramaquois brings new friends, learned athletic/artistic skills, and exciting experiences with the Adventure Trip program. I would recommend Camp Ramaquois to any parent looking to send their child to camp this upcoming year. I hope one day to do the same.

The best! No other camp has all that this camp has to offer. I worked at Ramaquois after college in my 20's and years later when it was time for my own children to go to camp there was no question where they were going. My girls are now 15 and 12 and have been at Ramaquois all their lives. Both have refused sleep away camp and only want to spend their summers at Ramaquois! They offer everything from an amazing sports program to unbelievable musicals to hands on crafts and a fantastic ropes/rock climbing adventure area complete with tree top trails and the coolest zipline that goes right over the lake. When the kids get older there's a comprehensive trip program with both day trips and overnights to places like Boston, Hershey Park, and Lake George. The camp itself is beautiful, the word majestic comes to mind. The staff is extremely friendly and inviting. Many are former campers. People seem to stay at Ramaquois forever! Plus, the food is fantastic. Their moto is that they are as complete as a sleep away camp, but I would say better than a sleep away camp. It is truly a dream summer for any child at any age. I can't say enough good things about this special place!

Camp Ramaquois has been the summer home for my family for over 20 years! My 3 children, all grown, enjoyed Camp Ramaquois from when they were small children until they were counselors and I still work there!! When I think of Ramaquois, it always puts a smile on my face! Camp Ramaquois is a wonderful camp for the youngest of campers right up to the oldest of campers. There is something for everyone and it is a camp that the children can grow up with. When my boys got older, they loved playing softball on the Bunt & Steal League and they also loved playing hockey. There is also a great sports league for girls. Ramaquois offers so many great daily activities in crafts, gymnastics, boating...I can go on and on. I personally work with younger girls in Jr Camp. It is such a wonderful, nurturing community. As counselors, we really try to focus on the needs of each individual camper. We build self esteem and confidence and the children make life long friends that they grow up with at camp. My favorite thing is to see my campers grow year to year and how they still remember songs that they sang when they were in my group! Hands down, I think that Camp Ramaquios is the best choice if you are looking for a day camp!

Ramaquois is an amazing camp!!! My daughter attended a different camp from Preschool to 4th grade and it was ok. In 5th grade we made the change over to Ramaquois with a group of friends that were looking for something better and we found it. My son started attending in Kindergarten, he is now going into 5th grade, and he counts the days down to summer every year. My daughter is now a counselor and it has been a wonderful transition. Ramaquois is the camp where my kids have tons of fun, learned to swim, were encouraged to try different activities(that they may not have before), had fabulous counselors and made life long friends. I highly recommend this camp.

Camp Ramaquios has been such a blessing for my 3 kids. They have each been there since they were 3 yrs old and they each associate summer with Ramaquois. The staff and facilities far exceeded my expectations. Having a child with food allergies is always a challenge especially when sending them into environments where they are severed food on a daily basis but Ramaquois has gone above and beyond to make sure my child is safe. I highly recommend Ramaquois!

I have been involved in camping for 36 years. I was a camper, a counselor, a group head, an athletic director, an assistant director, and now a camp owner and director. I have never witnessed anything as great as Camp Ramaquois. It is as close to perfection as can be. They work as hard as any place in the world at researching, preparing, and executing their plan. The campus is stunning, the staff is trained like no other place, the program is a masterpiece, and the directors are gold to me. When you walk through the campus, you hear cheering and chatter all day. The feeling there is like Disney World, but better. Ramaqouis is like its own city. They have around 10 pools, multiple indoor and outdoor gyms, fields, art rooms, cooking areas, and so much more. The traditions are purely their own, and the camp runs like a machine. It is nurturing, yet firm with its rules and supervision, and SAFETY, both emotionally and physically is always the priority. Any camp can say this, but they LIVE IT! I worked there over 10 years ago, and I have lived my life by their system both at work, and at home ever since. Not a day goes by that I do not think of the Ramaqouis family, and what they have meant to my life. I believe they are always ahead of time with their innovative ideas, and the ability to make a difference in not only their campers' lives, but everyone who ever works there or spends time. I recommend anyone who ever has a chance to witness camp in action to go see it for themselves. Our son has been going to CR for four years - this will be his fifth. He loves Fencing, Archery, Gaga and 4 square the most. Being outside, the great pools, Zip lines, Aerial adventure, Softball, Tennis and so many other great things. Best day camp ever. They care so much about the camp experience that they even have a chief culture officer to assure that positive life values infuse everything they do. This is not a day care center; this is is place focused not just on summer fun, but personal growth. They care so much about the values-driven camp experience that they voluntarily chose to cancel last summer because of the coronavirus and the challenges is posed. It was a brave decision that put safety and culture above dollars and cents. Both my kids love the counselors, the activities, the program, and I can see them grow every time they go. The best!

This place was truly life changing for me. I intended to work there as a counselor for one summer and end up staying for SEVEN. The support and knowledge from management made it so easy for me to give the campers the best summers ever. I could go on and on about how great Ramaquois is but it s one of those places I needs to be experienced. I will not hesitate to send my children there one day.

Our sons have attended Camp Ramaquois for several years now, after deciding not to go to sleepaway camp. They really enjoy everything about Ramaquois. From the activities to the trips. Even the food. My family has been in the camping business for 50 years and I cannot say enough good things about Ramaquois (especially how attentive and responsive the staff is). This has been a great experience for both of our sons and they cannot wait to go back this summer.

We are so grateful for Camp Ramaquois! Our son had the most amazing summer in 2019. We were disappointed to hear camp wasn t opening in 2020 but to us, this showed our family that Ramaquios wasn t in it for the money! We are so thankful that if they didn t feel like it was going to be in the best interest of the campers and staff to make that very difficult decision. We know this had to be such a hard call! Camp Ramaquois has been a life-saver for me. I am a sole parent and need child care for my very active son when school's are closed. I wanted to give my son the experience that I had at sleep away camp as a child but wanted him to be close, he was too young to go far from me. I searched high and low and found Camp Ramaquois. Nothing makes my son happy, yet everyday he came home from Camp with a huge smile on his face! Every year he is placed with the same group of friends and they learn and grow together. It builds a family experience for them that keeps growing each year. When I asked my son what his favorite thing to do at camp, his answer everything! He loves the zipline, boating, gagaball, Water Carnival, Carnival, Snow in the Summer, baseball, swim instruction, Hockey, Basketball, 4-Square, pickleball, tennis, recycle center, cooking, the petting zoo, ramapit, obstacle course, making s'mores, song and cheer and so much more... I also love how the camp is kept up-to-date, the facilities are immaculate, food services are great and I love the team of counselors that surround my son with, love, attention and fun each day! Thank you Camp Ramaquois for giving me all I need to make me feel like my son is safe and having fun all summer long!

My kids say Ramaquois is their happiest place on earth!! It is incredibly well run! I love that while it offers every activity imaginable in the most beautiful setting, there is also an emphasis on teaching good values. My two children went to Ramaquois for many years and had the most magical experiences. Every day is exciting and fun between all the incredible sports, arts, swimming, and other activities. My children also have food allergies, and I felt safe sending them to Ramaquois as the camp is run so well and they are meticulous about every detail. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

We have sent our 2 kids to Ramaquois for several years now. The activities and schedule have been great, with incredible counselors. I credit the amazing swim staff and low ratios of instructors to campers in the pool for teaching my kids to swim their first summer there. The Camp Directors and leadership team always go above and beyond. This includes making tough decisions like this past summer, in the abundance of caution, to unfortunately shut down the 2020 camp season. It was the right move. Knowing them well, 2021 will be the best camp year yet for all of the campers there.

Camp Ramaquois is the best - My husband and I both went to camp there, we both worked there and all 3 of our kids have gone there. Absolutely no complaints! They do it right.

Over the past 16 years Camp Ramaquois has become an integral part of our family. Our children spent their entire childhood as campers and their summers at Ramaquois were some of the best days of their lives. When I think of Camp Ramaquois I think of family. Both of my children have grown up spending theirs summers there as campers and now as counselors for the past 14 years. The friendships they have made, the values they have learned and the memories stored inside their minds, they can now pass down to the next generation of campers. This is a place you can call home starting at age 3/4 And never have to leave. There is no day camp facility around that can compare to the beauty of Camp Ramaquois. The administrators attention to detail, the fact that the majority of campers stay to become counselors speaks volumes to the type of place Camp Ramaquois is. There is something for everyone, from crafts to athletics and everything in between. I have also spent the past 11 summers calling Camp Ramaquois my summer home as an administrator. Not only have I watched my own children grow up there but I loved watching my campers grow up there. Like my children I have also made friends for life. Camp is a gift and camp Ramaquois will be the best gift your children can ever receive.

If I could give Ramaquois 10 stars I would! Ramaquois is one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our girls. They came home happy & JOYFUL EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR 8 weeks! They created new and long-lasting friendships & tried new activities that gave them confidence & thrills. The staff is BEST IN CLASS...warm, organized, caring, spirited, down to earth, responsive- just the best. And the campus- INCREDIBLE!! Its really magic what they have going on there and I'm so grateful for every single counselor, instructor etc that contributed the 4 summers we have been there. Truly a gift for our children!! We are a proud Rama-family!!!

Camp Ramaquois has been a part of my family s life for the past 6 years. My boy-girl twins are 14 years old now and just about the only thing they have in common is their birthday. My son is an outgoing, sporty kid with endless energy while my daughter is more reticent, shy and expresses little interests in athletics. With very little exaggeration, the one thing my kids have in common (except for their birthday of course) is their love for Ramaquois. Their time at Ramaquois is the greatest 8 weeks of the year. They each are the happiest versions of themselves as they reunite with their friends and Counselors from the previous years. Ramaquois has all of the bells and whistles one would expect from an elite camp, from the aerial adventure park, fencing, woodworking, vast array of arts and just about every sport imaginable. But what makes Ramaquois unique is the culture that it cultivates. As other reviewers have expressed, Rama has an extremely high rate of returning staff which is truly a testament to the camp. Campers and staff members alike can not wait until summer is here and can return to camp. Rama promotes individuality and allows campers the opportunity to explore new things in a safe and fun environment. A few years ago, my son decided to go to sleep away camp because he felt that the hours at Ramaquois were not long enough and if he could go to a camp like Rama 24/7, then he would love it that much more. The next summer we sent him to a sports-centric camp and after 2 weeks, my husband and I agreed to pick him up and return him to Ramaquois because as he said, nothing compares to Ramaquois. The friendships he forged along with the activities they participated in was way better than his sleep away experience. Ramaquois is a general camp where the groups travel to each activity together. As they get older, campers have the opportunity to elect a daily option period of their own choosing. Having children with wildly different interests, I love that they are exposed to so many activities that they would normally choose not to participate in. It has opened their eyes to other interests and has taught them to be a team player where being the best at that activity has no value. The idea of having pure, unplugged fun is what camp is all about and Ramaquois excels at accomplishing this for each and every camper.

I ve been attending Camp Ramaquois for 11 years and I love every year. It is my favorite part of every summer and something I always look forward to. The staff, activities, and friendships are some of the best things in my life.

I myself have never attended a day camp as a child. I figured I wasn't missing out on much at all and felt that sleep away camp was where the real fun most likely was. Man was i mistaken! When I had the chance to work at Ramaquois I was truly amazed at what was hidden in Rockland County. There really is no place like it. The amount of dedication, time and effort that is put into making sure the children who attend have the best summer of their lives year after year is immeasurable. This place is equip with everything you could imagine. You can almost immediately feel the aura after arriving on the camp grounds and can't help but be in a great mood. I've had many memorable summers here and have met people I consider to be family. This place has taught me a lot about myself and has help me grow as an individual. Being a part of the staff at Ramaquois has been an honor. All that this day camp has to offer is truly intangible. I found myself enjoying the summer as much as the campers did. I don't regret having not attended a Day Camp or Sleep away as a child, because this place most definitely has filled that void. Ramaquois is the best in the business and will continue to set the bar for what a REAL day camp is.

Love Camp Ramaquois! To say its a special place is an understatement! From the vast and beautiful grounds and facilities, wide range of activities, to the warm, kind, and enthusiastic counselors and staff, this place is a permanent extension of our summer. There is something for every kind of camper; whether an athlete, swimmer, artist, dancer, gymnast, theater enthusiast, chef, or nature lover; it is such a well rounded program. The feeling of warmth, connection,comfort and inclusiveness in the atmosphere at camp is palpable. This camp knows and understands kids on a level that cannot be surpassed by any other place. Wish camp were 10 months not just two!

Camp Ramaquois is AMAZING. It was my kids first year, and from the first phone call- they could not do enough to guide us and make us feel so comfortable. This continued throughout the entire summer. My kids had THE BEST summer. The camp has EVERYTHING for EVERYONE! My kids were happy as can be, had great experiences and met really nice kids. The counselors were stellar. I have never had such incredible communication from a camp they didn t miss a beat- EVER! I cannot say enough about Camp Ramaquois! 5 stars!

Best day camp around! So much for the kids to do, staff is helpful, compassionate, and fun! Facility can not be beat. My kids, my niece, my nephews, friends and their kids, and even I have had the BEST summers at Ramaquois. I highly recommend!

Camp Ramaquois is simply the best. The transition that I witnessed my kids go through this summer was incredible.

Camp Ramaquois is my special place, and has been for the last 30 years of my life. I am proud to say I was a camper, counselor, administrator, and am now about to become a Ramaquois parent for the first time. The fact that my son will be starting his Ramaquois career, brings the biggest smile to my face. There is a strong emphasis on tradition which elicits a community where kids of all ages can grow, learn, and stay year after year. Our son has had the most amazing summer experience at Camp Ramaqouis. This summer his younger brother will be joining him as well. The staff is dedicated to getting to know the kids and making them feel welcome. There are tons of surprises every week, which the kids love. I attended our first family picnic last summer and was blown away by the caring, happy, and family like faces everywhere you look. Camp Ramaquois is all the things you want in a summer camp without having to spend months away from home.

Ramaquoius has been my summer home for 18 years now, starting as a young camper and now as a staff member. As a camper, I created friendships that have lasted a lifetime. As a staff member, I have been mentored, supported and have had the opportunity to give back to my camp community. To this day, I consider members on their leadership team as personal role models. Ramaquois continues to provide me with a summer home where I am able to grow, develop and thrive. Thanks to my experiences at Ramaquouis, I have found my passion in helping others and have made sure to create a career path that ensures I get spend every summer at camp!

My son has now spent the last two summers at Ramaquois and my daughter will be beginning summer camp there this upcoming summer. Ramaquois is a wonderful place! We have been so impressed with the extensive amount of activities offered to the children as well as the thorough and friendly staff that have made our experience such a pleasure. Everyone who works at Ramaquois is committed to the making sure the camp remains in outstanding condition. The grounds are kept immaculate and there is never a shortage of excitement. I know my children will grow up with the best of memories of their days at day camp.

Ramaquois was the best experience for all of us. For my kids, it offered so many incredible activities in a beautiful environment and their fun started the minute they got on the bus. As a parent its values, its caring and communication, and putting our kids first was as comforting as it gets.

My two kids have been attending Camp Ramaquois for the past 9 years and they absolutely love it! They look forward all year to spending another summer at Ramaquois. They have made lifelong friends there and love all the activities offered. They enjoy swimming, sports, arts & crafts, and trips. The staff is great with many years of experience and I feel that my kids are safe at Ramaquois. I'm so lucky to have found such an amazing camp for my kids!

It s honestly a dream for working parents too as the bus picks you up and returns you at your door.

If you are looking for a REAL American Camp experience, look no further. We have lived overseas for 12 years and summers are spent at Ramaquois so my girls can experience a true camp experience. I told my husband the day they came home cheering and singing camp songs, my mission was accomplished. They were in the right place. A happy place. A safe place. A camp beyond others. Go see for yourself. It's what you see/envision in the movies. Beautiful grounds, happy kids walking/running along cheering for their teams, the lake (jumping and swimming in it), the pools, the sports, the food (yes, your kid will eat well!) and oh did I mention the friendships....camp friendships are special and forever! When I was 16 I was a counselor there and met another counselor there, who became my college roommate and to date, we are still the best of friends. That's Camp Ramaquois. It's a kid's dream camp. They are very in tune with what kids want to do each year and even ahead of its time, but still keeping to the old school philosophy of "LET'S HAVE FUN and be free, it's CAMP!" There is something for everyone there. Too bad its not all year long...now there's a thought!

If I could give Ramaquois more than 5 stars, I would. I grew up as a camper at Ramaquois through the 80's, was a counselor through the 90's and continue to work there today with my children attending as campers. The experiences, the friendships and the care that my children receive on a daily basis throughout the summer brings happy tears to my eyes. My teen daughter is on the quieter side, yet spending her days at a place that accepts her for who she is, encourages her to come out of her shell and provides opportunities to take exciting, yet safe risks makes her want to come back year after year. Every summer after the last day of camp, she begins her countdown until the first day for the following summer. Ramaquois is a unique place where each child can find something they love. The variety of sports, arts, adventures, trips as they get older all help a child build confidence and have a great time while doing so. The staff does an incredible job motivating and cheering on the children to take risks and try something new. Ramaquois is truly a part of us, it is one of our favorite places to be and we wear all of our Rama-apparel with pride throughout the year.

Went as a camper and loved it here. When I had kids of my own, my husband and I decided to bring them from California to NY each summer so they could experience the magic of an east coast summer camp. They wait each year to get back to camp! Truly the best!

If you plan on giving the gift of camp to your child, look no further than Camp Ramaquois. This camp is a very special place to my children and to me, as a mom and a specialty counselor there going on my seventh summer. As a mother, I can tell you that your children will be exposed to every activity imaginable and will be taken care of by their excellent well-trained staff. Most importantly they will have FUN! Ramaquois is my son s favorite place in the entire world. No exaggeration. The friendships he has made there have continued outside of camp and continue on every summer. The connections he has made with some of the staff has boosted his confidence in and out of camp. As a specialty counselor I have personally observed campers returning every summer, and transition from camper to counselor. That says a lot! As a specialty counselor I focus on teaching new skills and building self-esteem, while having fun. Ramaquois is more than a camp. It s a summer home.

As a parent, one of the most valuable things about Camp Ramaquois is your access to Senior Staff all year round. Any concerns you have about your child, the bunk, the counselors, the transportation, the specialized instruction, the activities and how your child is progressing in them, food requests, and more, is always made a priority to the Ramaquois Staff. The other thing we love about CR is that if you are not sure if your child will ever be interested in going to sleepaway camp, CR has camp for campers after ten years old! They progress the children to age appropriate activities, including trips, sleepovers and specialized activities for older kids. They eventually can go on to become CIT's and then counselors. It is a great option that doesn't exist in most day camps. Oh, and the other thing we love about Camp Ramaquois is that our son loves it more than any other place on Earth - he's excited to go everyday, comes home with a smile at the end of each day, and waits to go back all year long. There's not much more we could wish for him in a summer experience than that!
