Show respect and pay attention you'll get the same from the people in this company don't waste their time and money. Great people great company they have done everything they said they would in the 9 months I've been here I'm satisfied and don't have any plans on leaving... training is just that training ..they are not just training you to hold a steering wheel they want you safe for your self and the people around you..you need to be mentally ready to command a 80000lb truck and if you do your part they will have you ready to do that. I am satisfied with the pay sure you may get paid more at other companies but not much more and you could be making less other places too. Do your job remember your getting paid to drive and move trailers. Don't complain over dumb stuff and you'll be happy here

Been with Raider Express since June 09 and they've gotten better every year! Good days, bad days, like any other company. Bonus/rewards program second to none and tractors are the most fuel-efficient in the industry.

After searching all over the metroplex for trucking schools, I came across Raider Express.
I am so glad I made that call!
In 3.5 weeks I went from zero, not knowing anything to now having my CDL!!!
The school and the instructors are all awesome.
The school is absolutely FREE and you get paid classroom training.
The instructors want to see you succeed.
I am now getting ready to leave out on my 28 days with my new trainer.
Again, I am so glad I made that call.

I am very disappointed as I invested 4 weeks into this training with the hope of landing the job after. I already had my CDL but they claim that I don t have experience . I expected them to allow me to prove my self and gain experience with them once training was complete.

I don t recommend you waste your time and money with the training. The company lacks diversity and the assistant director discriminates against minorities who don t speak English as their first language.

The trainers here are rude and unqualified. They advertise this as a 4 week program but it is actually entirely at their discretion. While there I witnessed them put out so many trainees for no reason at all. It's all based on likes here. If they do not "like" you then they do not allow you to advance to taking your CDL test. The entire company is unprofessional and the trainers are a direct reflection of leadership in my opinion. Also, don't be fooled by "paid training" the payment amounts to almost nothing...trust me.

Im experienced driver and was looking for a long haul company to join. I had been out of the country for a few years and need to get my CDL again, all I had left was my driving test. I was working with a recruiter whos name starts with a D (that's all I'll say). He made it seen like I would be on the road in no time. Come to find out I had to sit through a 4 week class before hitting the road. He did a poor job of explaining the whole thing. Once realizing that I decided it was in my best interest to look elsewhere. The recruiter took it upon himself to call me and go off on me. He called me a few names as he put character into question. I am completely taken back that a company would allow such a person to represent them in a "recruitment" position. If anyone is looking to go through this company look out for certain recruiter.

Recruiter is rude!!! And sounds like he doesn't wanna answer any questions, called a few different times but guess he's the only 1 they got working there.

When you call you will see what I mean. EXTENTION 5004

my wife called on a different occasion and what a jerk. She said he acted like he could care less whether you joined their school or not and getting info from him was like pulling teeth from a horse.
I don't recommend them.

Been with them for 4 months, 0 issues with pay. Good equipment. Good Dispatch, good miles.

Update: Been with the company going on 2 years. School is 100% free. Yes, you end up paying for the hotel if you use it but the company pays for it up front. There is no contract to sign, no money to pay back. Yes, our program is intense. You will have to give it your all in order to pass. We aren't training you to pass the test, we are training you to be a professional driver and to work for us. Think of the school as a 4 week interview, give 110%, and you will do just fine.

I just finished the training and I'm currently on the road with my trainer. The school is great! The trainers have a very low tolerance for BS, but will go out of their way to make sure you learn. I had the opportunity to work with every trainer there and they all had a way of getting through to MOST students. You're absorbing a lot of information in the 4 wks and they add just enough levity to the sessions to keep guys off suicide watch. My recruiter, Tana, was extremely helpful throughout. Like most people I was a bit skeptical about the "free cdl" training, but unlike other companies there was no bait and switch... the same info she gave me was reiterated by Dustin, head of recruiting, the very first day of class. It really is free and they even pay you while attending school. The only thing you pay back is lodging if you stay in the hotel. I've recommended this company to anyone looking to become a professional driver and will continue to do so.

95% of the driver's I've ever encountered from this company are some of the most stupidest I've ever seen from the truck stop lots shipper/receivers and highway. No common courtesy whatsoever. I hope to God you don't get caught behind one on 287.

I'm only giving them two stars because of one drive. this driver is so lousy that he was in too much of a rush that he wouldn't let me over when my lane was ending. granted I had the right away anyway he wanted to ride my trailer all the way up the hill well the last .3 miles instead of slowing down to let me over. let me end this rating with a bit of advice to this driver... don't threaten to fight someone on the side of the road or at the next truck stop if you don't know who they are. who's to say I don't have a knife or who's to say I don't have a gun on me? do you really want to risk your life for something so stupid. actually do you really want to lose your job because you got mad over something so petty think about that. Talk about being a man... real men walk away and acting like that will not end to well on your end. I couldve stopped at the truck stop u wanted me to and let u throw the first punch. Then what, idk call the cops, press charges of assualt, let them tow your company truck off while you sit in jail for the night thinking about how childish you were.

I love Raider! The company and the instructors are so good. You can assume since it s free school students come in from every corner, some who have no clue to some who have English barriers, but the instructors are happy and helpful to get you in Thank you! The only bad guy is the guy who check you in for safety, the work he do is pretty little compared to instructors and the tester and he s contact with students is just about three days, but he will say something that you wouldn t forget

Mrs. Harrison, otr driving is not for everyone. In today's business companies do not warehouse products like they did in the past. When you call in on your 1st day they should have fired your husband. They gave him another shot & it sounds like he may not be cut out for this lifestyle. He should try for something local. I do not work for Raider but, I've heard it's a good outfit. I hate to see someone trash a company for no reason. Good luck.

If I could really rate them it would be at 0 because.its the worst place to try to get your cdl.they need some real certified trainers.its like they let any body become a trainer at that place.plus they're always students failing the road test so that messes with your seat time.they dont have enough trainers for everyone.so your constantly being screwed over.all they do is constantly bring in new people ever Monday which they over crowd the trailer.

Worked for this company for over three years. Every time I came to the yard in fort worth there was a totaled truck. They have there own trucking school ft. Worth cdl school . Very dangerous. Putting people on the road who can't even back a trailer. Then they want you to drive 55 miles and hour. I spent more time looking in my mirrors than looking foward.Very dangerous Company.

They treat their employees with so much respect. I have never met a group of individuals as amazing as these.

Safety is their number one priority and being a safety and compliance supervisor for UPS, it means everything to me to. I never have to worry whether my husband will come home or not because of what they instill in each of their students and employees.

By far one of the best trucking companies ever (after UPS of course).

If this place worked as hard at taking care of drivers as they do at making your life difficult when you choose to leave their POS company, they'd be half decent. They withheld my check even though I no longer owed anything, and refused to produce any documents showing the supposed balance that they said it was for. They refuse to verify employment to other companies when they are asked. And they outright lied under oath to the unemployment office, and later withdrew their lies when they couldn't prove it. Bunch of petty ass people who get offended when their drivers realize how much they suck, and decide to leave. Steer clear.

As a graduate from the school my experience was good. But it does come down to factors. What you put in is what you get out of it. I would recommend this school to those who know how to be on time and those who are not hot headed. It is a tough school but the instructor are very knowledgeable. Don t be afraid to ask questions. I think my favorite instructor comes down to two Tovar and Billy. I wish my circumstances was different otherwise I would have been a lifer at this company. If you choose this company your not only choosing a career but a family . Signed Justin Sumovich

So their recruiters are non-cooperative and rude, and management is even worse. I had heard nothing but bad things about this place, but training was free so I thought I would give it a shot. Glad I dodged this bullet, their are plenty other places that offer free training and that don't abuse employees or potential employees.

At 0755 this morning as I was backing out my drive...

At 0755 this morning as I was backing out my driveway which is directly across from the school in our little town of 700 people, a Raider Express truck barreled boldly through the school zone. It appears he had turned off US54 onto KS34 and accelerated up our Main Street. By the time he traveled the five blocks to the school zone, he still had about a half mile to travel before he would reach a highway speed zone. I don't know just how fast he was traveling when he passed through the school zone, but there was NO WAY he could have stopped had a child walked into the middle of the street from the cars parked on either side of the street. I see good reviews about Raider Express and the driver training, but for me they ring hollow. This morning I got to see how that Raider Express driver had little or no respect for the lives and safety of children in Bucklin, Kansas ... or for school children from anywhere else for that matter. His action this morning speaks loudly to me about Raider Express.

Too many bad reviews here, Honestly you have to sacrifice a lot in order to get your Cdl but it is worth it in the end. Make sure you have your mind set up before coming here. It won't be easy I promise but been here for a year and I'd like to say they have treated me pretty well. Btw lots of people come here trying to get their CDL with weak mindsets until they see how stressful it can be.

I really want to thank the makers and everyone who put together this school. I really love the trainers here at Raiders Express. Everyone is always in a good mood and I'm really learning swiftly. The first trainer I met was Corey. He help me to pass my permit test on the second day of school. Corey has a great attitude and is willing to answer any questions being asked, he made me feel like I was supposed to be here from day 1. Second week I came to Darren class I was lost the first day of mapping cause coming from little St.Thomas U.S.VI where I'm from didn't had to use a mapp but he teaches the class in this special way that even a donkey could understand. I love that class he is always funny & willing to help everyone understand to the best potential they can. I really think Darren is a great teacher. The last trainer is Kirk I really appreciate this guy I'm learning so much of driving techniques from dis guy. I really love his training. I love being on the truck wit him.Everyday you learn & get better wit Captain kirkI just want to give Raiders a big shout out & I am happy to be working for you guys in a couple of weeks. I aint get my CDL yet but I guranteed I'm going to get it. Shout out to Robert for accepting me in the school & I will be recommending more people from my Island to come to your school. I want to thank Tana Crowe for recruiting me. Thank you Raiders Express you guys are a life changer. I really appreciate y'all letting me come to the school. I just had to do this. Have a good day.

Called to get information on the company to possibly drive for them. The first recruiter was very rude and hung up on me.... Why was I dumb enough to call right back? I did the second recruiter was just as rude but she at least did not hang up on me. Neither one wanted to give me any information. Was told to apply to their school I have over 5 years experience I do not need to go through a school to teach me to drive.

Got my CDL with them and Drove with them for two years.

As a starting company not bad, but one look at their pay scale and you will understand why, I no longer with them as an experienced driver. Only way to make money is take a different trainee with you every one to four weeks, depending on whether they stay or not.

The program to work there is under a one way system. I was recently in the program and was sent home simply because the trainers assume that I wasn t gonna to work for the company and because I ve had trucking background or been around trucking all my life. If you wanna come to this company and go there the school here make sure you come not knowing anything because if you do you will be sent home and you will intimidate the trainers till they decide they just have to sent you home. Weather it s unfair or fair to do so. The higher up won t change what they say to get you back going on your career either. So be careful with Raider Express

Please don't come here, I obtain my CLP permit within 3 days of being here and I was able to back the truck for at least 2-3 blocks and I never drove a truck before. However I was having a little problem with how to map a route and the instructor Darren was being an ass about it, but he just doesn't know how to teach, he is too busy trying to tell jokes in class instead of teaching. Anyhow after my first week they let me go because I didn't get the mapping by week 2, mind you that I got my permit and backing within my first week of training. Mr. Cory is one of the best instructor that they have and if you come here you will meet him, other than that don't waste your time. I am not disgruntle about it, I am just informing you if you have a family.

They are understaffed and refuse to hire new train...

They are understaffed and refuse to hire new trainers. There s no separate instructor for people who have been there for weeks vs new trainees so they all get bunched together which means if you have already been there for 3 weeks you will have to sit there twiddling your thumbs while new people are being taught information you have already learned even after you ve passed the written exams. This is why a 4 week training program easily turns into 6-7 weeks and keep in mind you are there 7am-5:30pm (10.5 hrs). They don t have enough instructors to train more than 5 people on driving at a time so everyone else is just stuck in the classroom.

It s an OK program. They are thorough in lessons and providing information but not very organized or accommodating. It is free training with a guaranteed job so I guess its worth it if you are patient and have time to train 10.5hrs/day for over a month. If that s the case for you, go for it. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

alright first off I never ever fill out reviews for any place; good or bad. I felt obligated to get on here and set the record straight. A lot of the negative reviews you see on here are coming from lazy ass people who didnt actually take any initiative / were mad because they didn't get free money. I just went through the school and got my CDL in 3 weeks and 3 days. I learned so much during that period and really tried to absorb every ounce of criticism I recieved to try to make myself better. Everything that I was told was 100% real and straight forward. The education was 100% free. As a matter of fact I got paid to get my CDL and become a driver for the company. Tony was in my class and he left after the first day because he wasn't going to walk out with a paycheck on the exact same day as he showed up.. Anywhere you go you have to wait at least 2 weeks to get a paycheck, the dude is a coward and a loser don't pay him any mind.

I was looking for a new career after selling my bu...

I was looking for a new career after selling my business of 25 years and obtaining my CDL was always a dream I had always wanted to do.

After researching and looking at multiple companies in the DFW area, Raider Express caught my attention with it s advertising a FREE school + they pay you $1,000.00 to learn to get your CDL!

Once I applied and filled out the necessary forms to get a driving background check which was clear I was contacted by them and started my school the following Monday. I found out that I was selected out of 350 applicants during that week to come to their school. We started off with about 27 students that first Monday morning and we dwindle down to about 11 after the first week and a half. Some of them failed their drug test, some of them did not want to go and get their permit because of past child support and so I did not pass the physical because of some medical issues.

They pass you off week to week from instructor to instructor after you have obtain the knowledge you need to be evaluated and moved onto the next part.

I am proud to say that after three weeks and three days I tested and passed my CDL test on the first try. I will say that it was not without doing a lot of work, a lot of studying, and a lot of perseverance. I have a newfound respect for truckers and all they have to go through to not only get their CDL but to keep it.

I am just finishing up my fourth week of school and will be headed out on my 28 day in the next day or two. Once I come back from that I will be driving solo and earning some really really good $$$.

I have nothing but good things to say about all of the instructors and the director and the company overall. They have tremendous interest but be prepared to work because that s what you re gonna do. Shout out to Antonio, Darren, Chris, Kevin, Bill, Verne and all the staff that worked each day to get us where we are now.

Got to meet some really good brothers and sisters while here also.

In closing FREE means FREE. I have never had to sign a contract. I have my license and could leave if I wanted to, but why would I.

All of there trucks are 2018 or newer Volvo s and automatics which make driving much easier.

3 weeks and 3 days from start to CDL.

My husband has worked for this company for over 2 years, this was his first long haul trucking job and he absolutely loves it. Most company's train you and require you to work for them afterwards, not Raider. You won't want to go anywhere else once you've gotten your CDL. The team is very attentive and takes care of him while he's out on the road they have taught him everything he knows and then some. I was referred by somebody else that works here when he was looking for a job. I highly recommend them they will go above and beyond for you. They have contracts with a lot of big names and you will feel appreciated and part of a family. There are many bonuses and perks with Raider.. I can't say thank you enough to Raider Express they have done so much for our family! Very family oriented as well, Every birthday they send our kids a card and gift card another reason why they stand above the rest.
