This place is in serious need of upgrading. I ve been staying here for work for several years and they ve updated the floor in the lobby. The front desk staff was nice, but when I asked for a mini fridge, I was told I wasn t staying here long enough to qualify for one. They also removed the coffee makers from the rooms. Thankfully they ve apparently removed most of the raft beds (sleep number) from the rooms. Also, the shower heads were made for Umpa Lumpas or dogs, get ready to duck in there if you re taller than a pony.

This hotel is HUGE with some elevators being "private" as in you cant access certian floors with out your door key which is nice, but still not the best hotel. Staff is pretty helpful but just a few small things really throw it off. Such as dirty shower/shower curtians. Dirty plates at the breakfast buffet (which came from the clean stack) hair in the showers that isnt mine. The room order is very confusing. And in place places pretty far away from anything. The elevators are wonking and sometimes go to floors you didnt push the button for. The convention parts of the hotel are great convention rooms are very nice sizes that can be separated with a foldable wall, but dont keep a TON of sound out. The starbucks in the hotel is okay, dont have a TON of choices but i think a little bit of something for everyone, including pop and energy drinks. There is only 1 pop machine that i have found that takes card and not just cash. Their prices for the food (outside of the buffet) are a little much i think personally for the over all of the hotel. The backs of the doors claim the tooms are 600 per-night(for a 2 single beds, a fridge, 2 medium size tables, tv with stand that has 3 drawers) online has them for 110 so thats a bit confusing. And if it is the 600$ a night it is deff NOT worth it even a little bit. Over all i cant rate this morr than 2 possibly 3 stars only becuz the staff is so friendly. They have a bar/resturant in here as well and the food isnt that great and understaffed.

This is an old elegant staple of the area. It s amenities are many - pool, several restaurants, spacious but dated rooms and very professional staff. It s apparent that this economy is affecting their business so, although it s another struggling hotel, I would encourage people to support them and their accommodations and services will only improve.

Best bang for your buck in Appleton area. Rooms aren't brand new per say, but for just under a hundred bucks, what do you expect? Very spacious place, two in house restaurant/bars, and Sunday brunch for about 15$ a person.
Interesting pool set up, but delightful.
Staff was exceptional. Pleasant stay

The Red Lion Hotel does well on the Front End - the service was excellent, the bar had a terrific selection of local beers on tap for a wonderful price, bar food was much better than expected. I d rate the front end a solid 4 of 5 stars. If they only put a bit more work on renovations I d rate it a bit higher. HOWEVER,The West tower elevator was worn and smelled like old socks. The 5th floor room was clean, bed was comfortable, ventilation worked but the bathroom worn. I d rate the lodging portion of the stay a modest 3 stars. I think with a little more attention to detail the hotel could be a solid 4 star establishment.
Would I stay there again? The answer is yes but I would know what to expect.
In life - if you tell someone exactly what you are giving them, then deliver just a little bit more, you will win their loyalty.
