My stay was ok. The rooms are a little dated. The beds weren't as comfy as we thought a hotel bed should be. There wasn't a fridge or anything in the room.. We requested a top floor room and didn't get one. I also asked if they could do something special for my sons bday they said yes. Didn't get that. The pool was amazing though
From the exterior, this hotel is beautiful and the location is great! Bill at the front desk was awesome and very helpful.
I was checked into my first room (non-smoking king) and it smelled like cigarettes so bad that we couldn t stay in it. Pair that with a father screaming at kids next door with paper thin walls, I think the family lived in there. I asked Bill for a new room and he got me in one right away.
The next room was better and it worked for the 3 nights I was there but it wasn t spectacular, I wouldn t stay again.
This is a pet friendly hotel and we witnessed a dog pee in the hallway, the whole feel is old and although we reserved time in the pool (per the covid protocols), our family with kids got yelled at by non- guests that pay to use the pool. The kids didn t want to try again which was unfortunate, we were in town for a funeral and the pool was the only thing that made this trip seem exciting to them.
Bill did a great job with what he had. He was running around at most times, it seemed like he was the only one there. I saw him trying to run the front desk, answer phones, get carts for luggage and help guests as best he can.
This place needs some major updates and perhaps a designated floor for people with pets with hard wood floors to help with accidents.
It s getting old, but still looks majestic outside. Sound isolation is poor inside there was a dog crying all evening, neighbors were making love in the morning etc. AC system is a vintage specimen, looks like late 70 ies but everything works and is clean. Staff very nice and helpful.
Best value and service for your money. Plus the building is just really cool. (Looks like a castle)
The staff was nice. The room was super dirty. The toilet had poop on it from the previous people that stayed there. The "clean" towels had hair in them that wasn't mine, the table was covered in dirt and hand prints and the whole place was dusty. The shower floor was black. Next to the sink on the floor had so many dust bunnies and trash. Overall would not recommend due to poor cleanliness. When checking out and we told them some of the things and the poop on the toilet they only took 3 dollars off the room. The exterior is gorgeous. Wish the room was the same. On a positive the mattress was super comfy.
We visited recently on 2 separate occasions. Both visits were overall positive. The staff is great. The first time we stayed, we had a room on the top floor. The room was so clean and was a fairly large suite. The second time we stayed, just last week, the room we booked was overbooked so we had to change rooms. Which, ultimately was fine, because they still had room to accommodate us and I was thankful. Again, the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately though, we were put in a smaller room and we did not have a pull out couch so that was a little disappointing. The room this time was definitely not as clean as the room we had stayed in last time. But I 100% understand there is a shortage of workers everywhere and I appreciate the staff who work so hard.
Looks nice from outside, but it is not well maintained , very dirty rooms, just need more attention, it has a nice pool and a great look first floor and entrance, just need more attention inside the roons
Older style hotel but the place was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Heated pool was an added extra and a great amenity for kids.
The hotel is in the shape of a castle. It is nestled in a quiet corner right off the main highway. Customer service was great.
Hotel has trucker rates and spots for semi trucks at the bottom of their property. Truckers please be mindful and keep it clean! The hotel is dated and needs some TLC, bathroom shower was dirty and beds lumpy. At the time of booking Only had rooms available with full size beds for one night . If you stayed multiple nights there was an option for a king size bed. No breakfast due to COVID. Microwaves and refrigerators are only available on request! Hotel with over 300 rooms should be situated better
