I've been to Dakar twice this year and since I was happy with my stay at Radisson Blue the first time, in February, I booked it again for a longer stay in March / April. I would start with safety and security, as these are both important during Covid-19 pandemics - the protocols are in place and observed at all times. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is helpful. There is a beautiful infinity pool, two bars and several restaurants. The hotel's guests have access to a very well equipped gym. High speed internet works great, allowing video conference calls without any problems. There is a connection at the first floor with Sea Plaza shopping mall, which is very convenient. A special mention to Mme Coumba, at the concierge, who would do anything to make your stay there a top experience.

This is the best hotel in Dakar. It's an absolute gem. I just got back from Dakar and I will always stay here if I'm in town. The hotel is very modern and elegant. The pool is absolutely breathtaking! It's an infinity pool that looks out over a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean - absolutely stunning. Rooms are modern and the hotel is very quiet, I slept like a baby every night. The restaurants are superb. There's a big mall next door with everything you could want (including a Casino supermarket) in case you forgot something or just want to shop (it's got a bunch of cool clothes stores in it, I bought pants, shirts and shoes and quite reasonable prices). The hotel is full of really cool art. In the evenings they have a great jazz band that plays in the pool area, which is always a fun social scene (you may see very famous people hanging out there too - I did!)

Definitely recommended!

We tried at great length and at the expense of much of our vacation to address the problems with their on site staff to no avail! This stay was completely unacceptable. We paid for an ocean front room with terrace. We were given a room with NO ocean front view and with a terrace with furniture missing the cushions for the suite. We asked for cushions for two days. The first day we were told they were dirty and would be returned the next morning. The next day we were told no less than three times they were on the way and then we ll after sundown we still had no usable terrace. Mona the front desk manage had no answers. Instead, men with sheets for beds and no accommodation for the unusable terrace come at 10:30 pm confused about what to do. This is on top of the rude concierge who would not provide recommendations and the check in staff who detained us at the front desk, because they were confused about the reservation even though we had confirmation and paid in advance. This is completely unacceptable. On top of that we reported a maintenance issue in the bathroom. The shower did not drain properly as the seal for the door was broken, causing water to pool in the bathroom and drain into the bed room. This was clearly an ongoing issue as the bathroom door had water damage from the continued run off. We were told maintenance was coming. Instead housekeeping brought towels to soak up the water and never returned. Each day, we had to request more towels for clean up and maintenance. Towels came but maintenance never did. No apology, no offer of a room swap, no check in from a manager! This was our first time to Senegal and this has sullied our experience. How sad for us as African Americans trying to connect to our roots and finding people trying to scam us who treated us poorly on the other side.

I spent a week at this hotel and all the boxes were ticked, good food, efficient wifi, excellent laundry service and very helpful staff. Mention special for the breakfast team and their energy with Florentin leading.
