Disappointed with RAA Total Loss Handling

My recent experience with RAA's Total Loss Department has left me deeply disappointed. Despite a minor accident, the lack of communication and empathy displayed by RAA has been shocking.

After being assured my damages would be covered, I was left in the dark for over a week, only to discover my car had been deemed a total loss without any notification. Despite numerous attempts to contact RAA, I received no apology or explanation for the oversight.

During my call with the Total Loss representative, I was met with indifference and blame-shifting, instead of acknowledgment for their shortcomings. This dismissive attitude is unacceptable.

Furthermore, my concerns about the undervaluation of my recently purchased car were brushed aside, further adding to my frustration.

This experience highlights systemic issues within RAA's communication and customer service practices that need urgent attention. I urge RAA to take responsibility for their actions, apologize for the distress caused, and commit to improving their services.

Dreadful. As a 20 year member I can without a doubt say I have been undersold inadequate insurance and products over the last few years. The RAA is little more than a shell of its former self and it's staff possess inadequate knowledge to assist with the products and services they provide. Save your money, find other products and services, and don't learn the hard way!

If I could give no stars then I would, our insurance premiums have gone up because of RAA's incompetence. They want to slug us more financially due to their losses due to the bushfires being their top excuse.... Was told this over the phone and they didn't give a reference number for the recorded call but they have the recording on file anyway. I will be taking all my families insurance policies elsewhere and if it's not resolved then I will be contacting consumer affairs for such a ridiculous excuse to charge more. We the consumer have always paid less for insurance every year due to no claims and good driving records until a certain point where it stays the same, never have we had to pay more. As bad as the red cross in my opinion. Absolute joke!

I've been in here a few times to buy some travel items and get an international drivers license organised. The location is great and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Travel gear is a bit on the expensive side but good quality stuff.

I have 3 policies with RAA, I rang up to cancel 1. Only to find out I still had an ongoing 4th policy being debited out of my account for the past 12 months. 12 payments of $99.00 which continued to come out of my account prior to me cancelling this particular policy 12 months ago. This makes me wonder how many other people are out there who do not realise the same thing is being done to them. Poor management. No compensation for what s been done unlike other industries. Will not be recommending RAA to anyone in future. Entitled company who doesn t care about the customers.

My car was maliciously vandalized by jealous neighbor. The Police would not give me a report no. RAA insurance is useless and will not pay. These people are being paid for insurance to my car. A bunch of criminals. I will not renew my membership next year and will terminate my insurance policy.

11/5/20 Dodgy tactics and make new ( rules ) on the spot, all of a sudden within 5 day with no claims ever the policy goes up $22, on 7/5/20 my insurance for my car per month was $43 and when you go to re new now its $65... after i was told there would be no increase, i would love to keep my money in SA but now it will be going to AAMI much more professional

Use them for their outstanding roadside assistance but do pop into the shop now and again for a look. They have a wide range of services for members; all listed on their website. Reasonable deals for members but I rarely purchase from here.

They don t help you but just look to rip you off and milk it as much as they can.

There s fine print in their policies that if you didn t read, you would unfortunately be limited in terms of coverage and assistance unless you upgraded to a different membership which I wasn t suggested at the time.

Encountered a slight error with the RAA for making a vehicle inspection while under tight time lines but Andrew managed to assist me, wasn't pushy at all and gave me all the important information I asked for or forgot to ask as well as persistently looking for my booking that seemed to of gone AWOL.
