I took the state test by them. First of all, 7 short responses in a day is too much. I couldn t feel my hand for an hour after that. Next, they gave us two pages to write an essay that required 4-5 paragraphs. My essay was 4 pages and I had to write my essay in the passage section! This is simply unacceptable. Their questions don t make sense either. A question they asked was How to the subheadings contribute to the understanding of the article? Everyone knows what headings are for. Why make a question based on something widely known. If this test is meant to measure how much a student has learned, the only thing I ve gained was how much of a waste prepping was because this test was just sad and pathetic. This score decides my high school and this test makes me feel like they don t care about this.
On behalf of the 25,000 students in New York that wasted a day testing just to go home being told thier score wasn't recorded, you get 1 star. Yes my son was a victim of your digital testing. No; digital testing is not the future.
