Food was good, but an enjoyable evening was marred at the end by the waiter's tantrum as our (large) group was setting the bill.
We had been told we could pay individually for what had been eaten/drunk. However, the waiter's stress levels rocketed and halfway through our group's departure he refused to process any further payments. In a v rude manner, he dumped the cash he'd received and remaining bill on our table, declaring 'it's all a big mess'.
This was totally unnecessary, and v unprofessional. Especially so as the bill was easily and swiftly cleared.
This disorganised and sour end to a lovely evening could have been easily avoided if the restaurant had asked us to pay collectively (which we were all prepared and able to do), or taken cards for tabs. As the booking had been made weeks in advance, and food pre-ordered, you would've hoped the staff would have been better prepared.

Lovely meal and friendly, efficient staff but evening ruined by this restaurant deciding that people wanted to hear YMCA and other disco music played whilst trying to enjoy dinner and conversation with friends. Asked them politely if music could be turned down as we couldn't hear each other over the music. It's suppose to be a restaurant not a nightclub! What used to be a nice evening here now is a completely wrong vibe for eating dinner. Will not be back because of this sadly.

Very good meal and full on a Wednesday evening which is a good indicator. Don't be daft like me and go for the chicken - if you are on the coast, always go for the fish - it looked super.

Excellent food and service.

Excellent food and service.

Quay 33 has a good reputation and we called in without a reservation. Luckily we got the last available table and joined a full restaurant at a time when others were mostly empty. Such is the reputation of Quay 33.

I had the fish stew and my wife had the fish pie both of which were excellent. Piping hot, served quickly, and satisfying.

Good value and brilliant ambience.

We had a lovely meal here. The trio of fish as others have said, was first rate. The reason for the missing star is the Seventies disco soundtrack which although not loud, did not give the relaxed dinner vibe that I was hoping for. This and maybe the staff talking over their shoulder to others whilst serving our food and drink? This might have been this because we were sat downstairs. The management have excellent Covid secure process in place.

OK

Quay 33 is pretentious, over priced, with rude staff and the WORST FISH N CHIPS on the barbican. The chips are frozen "catering chips" from Booker cash n carry and the fish is probably frozen fillets, defrosted and then battered. Avoid this place, there are plenty of other places to go.

An excellent Restaurant with very good helpful service from the waitresses. The food is cooked to perfection at reasonable prices. The wine list is adequate to suit all tastes again at reasonable prices. The disadvantages is that the menu does not change much and the specials are limited in variety. At the time of writing (21/9/13) I consider it one of the best places to eat in Plymouth for either Lunch or Dinner.

Amazing restaurant, service and food. I have visited a few times and each time tried something new. The food is fresh, served in good time and always tasty. Locally sourced ingredients, especially the seafood, and very filling portions. The restaurant itself is well decorated - light and bright. Seating upstairs and down. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good reliable food and prompt service. It isn't cutting edge and hasn't changed much in years, but the meals are substantial ( completing a starter and a main is a challenge, one starter between two?). Conventional dishes, but well cooked and tasty. Wine is well priced. Often full, so booking advised.

Absolutely lovely little restaurant! Visited several times and am always pleasantly surprised. The food is delicious and well worth what you pay as the portions definitely fill you up! They have a set menu for lunch and dinner if you want to save a bit of money, too! Would highly recommend!

Ate here with friends who were visiting from the North. Very happy with our experience, staff were friendly and accommodating. Clean facilities. Great food, I had the chicken teriyaki which was tasty although I think I would have preferred the salmon. Dessert was lovely, cheesecake was gorgeous.

Came in last week for a birthday meal with my Mum. Service was second to none, very attentive without being too full on. The food was out of this world! Not too pricey either! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to go for a decent evening meal!

The food was spectacular, the sevice was first class and the restaurant itself is so pretty.
