I took my Dad to the first performance of Flint. I was raised in Flint and my sister and brother still live there. Many memories and hard times have hit this city. Beautiful play and wonderful facility.

Great theater in the quaint city of Chelsea. Great Sherlock Holmes adaptation.

Saw Sherlock Holmes show, was funny, quick paced, and very entertaining.

Jeff Daniels captured all of our attention and hearts tonight. Beyond amazing, best show ever - one talented actor, writer, story teller, musician...Michigan his home. Grateful for the opportunity to attend tonight.

Intimate theater with highly skilled actors. I have never seen a production that I did not love. The most recent was Flint which was incredibly moving. The local talent in this area is amazing. We are very lucky.

Fantastic acting and staging in an intimate atmosphere. Seats about 110 people wrapped around the stage giving you a great view from any seat. Suggest buying tickets in advance, as they go very fast. In downtown Chelsea within walking distance of great dinning and shopping. Plenty of parking on side streets near the theater.

Roomy and a lovely display of art in the theatrics. Jeff Daniels founded an awesome theater!

I saw Diva Royale here and loved it! I'm very excited to see another show in the future at Purple Rose Theatre Co.

Excellent acting and setting. I've seen three performances and they were all good but a bit raunchy.

Went to see Jeff Daniels Live. Jeff can be a "Real Person" --- "Not an Actor" when he is home. YOU PROBABLY HAD TO BE THERE TO UNDERSTAND.

Great show.....a fantasy for practically every older woman who finds herself alone.

Once again, kudos to the Purple Rose for "Willow Run". The script dealt with women facing the challenges of entering the workforce in the 1940's, and the impact it had on their lives. The experiences are still topical today. Congrats to the cast and crew for an entertaining and educational theaterical experience.

We haven't actually made it out to a production at the Purple Rose yet, but I wanted to write a review about how accommodating they were. We were supposed to see Flint, but the roads were terrible from a bad snowstorm and we don't live close by. We were past their 24 hour cancellation window, but they still refunded us our tickets. It was so refreshing to have a theater be so flexible with a return policy rather than feeling pressure to drive in bad weather. We'll definitely go see more shows there in the future and send a donation their way!

I have never been disappointed at the Purple Rose. The plays are excellant, with a wide variety of topics. I LOVE this place. A small personal venue.

I love going to the Purple Rose. Every seat is so close to the action, the actors are phenominal, and you won't see these plays just anywhere.

Such a great, intimate experience. It is difficult to explain why the Purple Rose is such an incredible and unique venue. You could see each play at each showing and each viewing will feel a different show. The best part is it gives local actors, directors and playwrights an amazing opportunity they deserve may not have received otherwise. There is never a bad show.

Great place to see live theater! You are almost on the stage and the performances are very good.

Intimate. Professional. E V E R Y seat on the house is great. Seats surround 3 sides of the stage. Went with a group of 4. Very polite audience. Stage/set was intriguing. Sound was excellent. Even my hearing impaired sister had no trouble following the dialogue. I like that a fair portion of the audience was dressed for a date - IMHO this is a compliment to the actors.

Another great night at the Purple Rose Theater. Jeff Daniel's we thank you for your candor, your comedy, your truth and not being a Chevy actor! Love the theater and all the great shows we've seen there. Thank you!

I went and saw Sherlock Holmes and the adventure of the fallen souflle, it was great, full of humor and great dialogue. The theatre itself is perfect, very cozy and comfortable and there isn't a bad seat in the house, and the staff is awesome, very kind and helpful. I will be returning as much as possible.

The stage is always impressive, great attention to details brings you immediately into the world of the play. Have been to several shows, always enjoyed myself. There is variety and originality in the choice of the topics.

Thie Purple Rose Theatre offers an intimate theater experience, in the round. I have enjoyed every play I have seen there since the mid 90s. I almost always attend the "talk backs" where the audience discusses their experience with the director. These are before the official opening.

Intimate (around 165 seats) theater celebrating Midwest playwrights, actors, directors and crew. Jeff Daniels (film and TV standout) decided to raise his family in Chelsea MI where his dad ran the lumber yard. He started Purple Rose (named after Woody Allen's amazing Purple Rose of Cairo in which he appeared) in 1991.

Great night at The Purple Rose. Very intense subject matter, excellently played. Always enjoyable.

Only challenge was the parking! But that could be because it is a popular venue. Cozy with comfortable seats - and not a bad one in the house, I'd say.

We saw the show "Flint". It was quite an emotional rollercoaster because the actors were excellent. You could feel all the tension of the situation in the story, which was also spiced up with some humor. It was a great way to touch on the water problem in the city of Flint. We like the seating in this theater. There is no bad seat in the house. The acoustics are also great. We try to see every show the company puts on because it's the truth experience and we love it.

Beautiful theater, wonderful experience. Cast is always amazing. Can never go wrong by seeing a play at the Purple Rose.

Been going to the PRT since their first play and as always it is great. The best live theater in the area.

We had an amazing time visiting Chelsea and in particular The Purple Rose. The town was celebrating with a Christmas Parade the evening we went, it was "alive" with shoppers and visitors. We went to th PR to see the Sherlock Holmes play which was awesome! This venue is intimate in size and allows the audience to almost feel like we were a part of the play. Highly recommend it!

Diva Royalle was hilarious and masterfully acted by 4 actors. The physical comedy was awesome.

The acting is ALWAYS incredible. Whether comedy, drama, or tragedy, they bring the story and characters to life. They do many original productions by local playwrights as well as very well known classics. Sometimes the shows are a bit edgy, which some could take issue with, but again...the acting! I saw "Our Town" a few years ago - tears were running down my face. And the comedies...you're laughing out loud. So good!

Great theatre, however they've caused huge traffic problems as there patrons are rude drivers and park in spaces they aren't allowed to and block traffic

Went to see Jeff Daniels: Onstage & Unplugged 2016 for the theatre's benefit and was greatly disappointed. Because I have seen Jeff Daniel's perform before (and he was terrific), I knew what a high standard he sets in his performances. Unfortunately, he had a broken arm and didn't cancel the show. He only played the guitar and sang 1 or 2 songs and the majority of the show was a long explanation (while skillfully done with shots from the movie went on way too long) of his injury. I had come to be entertained with his humorous and entertaining singing and was greatly disappointed.

I am in awe with the performance I seen here today. The theatre is quaint ....just like the town of Chelsea. Very small but even with a packed house very comfortable. Fell i n love with Jeff Daniels today for his commitment to theatre.

Love the interior, was perfect fit for a Sherlock Holmes ' play, seasoned actors made it all the more interesting
