Great food. Great service. A little pricey tho.
This place is first class all the way! Every single thing is great.
Amazing blackened trippletail and Brussels sprouts. Surpasses any restaurant I've been to on the Gulf Coast to this point. Definitely lives up to the hype.
Nice restaurant and great place for a date. Dress nice and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff is very professional and you wi want for nothing. The menu is great too.
Very beautiful, upscale restaurant. Unexpected! Polite wait staff. Very clean bathrooms.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Couldn't ask for anything more
We loved it!!!! Food was great and our server Chris was awesome.
Was there at lunch. Luncheon menu was varied and interesting and most were very affordable. Atmosphere was formal and quiet and perfect for conversation.
Food was delicious, but one order was filled incorrectly. (This restaurant is good about allowing substitutions, but the substitution was not followed.,) I had dined here 2 weeks ago and a completely different dish was served than what was ordered. Luncheon at the Purple Parrot is still the best in town, but 2 errors for 3 visits in a row is concerning.
Great food and staff. The outside of the building has been remodled and looks great. They still have some work to do to freshen up the interior of the restaurant. This may have happen since we last visited. I will update this review if so.
Elegant atmosphere, nice wine selection, excellent flavor! At times can be somewhat loud but usually is a comfortable noice level.
Robert St john is the restaurant guru of Mississippi awesome place
The worst $100 dinner for two we have ever had. Steak and prime rib cut thin and taste like cardboard.
Excellent food, service, decor. Would definitely recommend to others. 6 oz. filet with fingerling potatoes confit (asked no asparagus) and added lump crabmeat.
Purple Parrot is find dining in a lovely atmosphere. It's not loud ! The menu is southern cooking with an influence of Cajun food in its finest.
Had a great rehearsal dinner in their loft. The food was great and the satff we're very attentive and professional.
I love eating lunch at the Parrot. Crab cakes or blackened catch
Overpriced NOT fresh seafood that they try to pander off as fresh coastal fancy dinners. They try to mask the frozen foods with over seasoning them and using lots of oil.
My husband and I went here on date night. It was wonderful. The wait staff took time and explained pairings and ingredients. We felt very well taken care of. The food was light and delicious.
I love the Mahogany Bar and the outdoor atmosphere. The food and drinks are delicious and it is my favorite place in Hattiesburg
Great service, drinks and atmosphere. Check it out!
Very nice place to eat as a couple or family. Love their selection and hot, fresh foods. Staff is exceptional.
Jonathan, our waiter was excellent. Food was disappointing, at best.
We had the shrimp etouffee and prime rib which were both equally excellent but the highlight of the meal was the exceptional service we received from Katie. She was very accommodating and wonderful!! Hands down a great experience and delicious food. Be sure to ask for Katie!! She was AMAZING!!
Excellent service. A little hesitation on staffs part to take care of or acknowledge a special occasion dinner. Three excellent entrees and one really poor one. A shrimp gnocchi that was so salty it was near inedible. Not sure I'd go back.
The fried oysters were like eating a fried cloud, the breading was so light and crisp. Excellent service as atmosphere.
Had dinner last night and have been sick since then. Also the portions were small for the price.
Really good food, and the service is usually excellent as well. A bit pricy, but it's as good as food gets in Hattiesburg.
When entering the facility, I was immediately transformed. The ambiance and service were incomparable. The elegance and attention to details put into the design were reminiscent of establishments at a private resort. I was so pleased that I began making birthday plans there.
Very beautiful, upscale restaurant. Unexpected! Polite wait staff. Very clean bathrooms. Loved the bar/lounge area with comfortable seating and candles. Very nice for meeting friends or talking business. This would be a perfect date night location. All of our food was delicious and displayed with elegance. We cannot have pork or shellfish, so that limited us to 2-3 options on the menu. But what we had was fantastic! Small menu that changes seasonally with the local produce and available items. Try the beef short ribs! You will NOT be disappointed! So tender they melt in your mouth!
My wife and I went to the Purple Parrot last night for our 42nd wedding anniversary. The food was terrible. We could have gotten a better meal at the Waffle House. That will be our first and last time we dine there.
Lovely atmosphere but the food was a little overpriced for the quality. We went for our anniversary dinner and our server was awesome. He even brought us a free dessert!
Miss the chicken dish with the baby carrots. The menu now is fish, duck, lamb or beef. Just wish there was more options.
Setting and service was excellent. Food was not worth the money.
I loved the Purple Parrot. They have a casual side of the restaurant and a formal side. I always eat on the casual side and order seafood. It's amazing. The chef: he's God I think.
Great food, great drinks, clean and cool ambiance, attentive staff.
Elegant atmosphere and good food but limited menu offerings
I had the chance to eat here last night. My best friend invited me. Everything from the selection of drink's to appetizers, to entrees to dessert. Was so very good. I will definitely be back. I will definitely recommend. I even had the chance to meet the Head chef. Even the servers were amazing
Food was bland and not worth the price. Crescent city grill - in the same building is a much better bet
This place is FAR from Fine Dining! The experience was same as going to a chain restaurant. Wife and I went for Valentine's dinner. The presentation was same as a home prepared dish, poor presentation and no description of the dish. The bisque was luke warm, we both got the fish and it was over cooked and laid atop of potatoe mash and finally the desert we had the cream brulee, cold and little soupy. The wine pairings were bad. They didn't know how to pair wine. They were stingy with the wine and my drink, my wife had to ask for different wine from the pairing they recommended because it was bad wine and my drink was half from a normal pour. Wife's wine glass stayed empty more than wet and the glass had lipstick on the rim, had to get another. The price for the dinner was way too much for what was served. Our server was not at all pleasant. They have Michelin Star prices for 2 star dish's. I have gotten more on a dish at a 5 star for less price including wine. Can not recommend this place.
Amazing is the least I can say. The purple Parrot was a experience I will never forget. The restaurant has numerous of sides to it. We ate in The Branch area. It included the side bar with small burning candles. VERY LOW LIGHT. I could only see my husband sitting in front of me. Because of the dim lights you can't see your surrounding areas..I LOVE IT. The food is DEFINITELY BEING COOKED BY A TOP CHEF. Pls try this place.
Okay first off I have no doubt these reviews were probably made by the owner or people who work there for the reason every review is Excellent. Second I am from the Midwest and I have to disagree at least over half of the restaurants in Madison, WIsconsin are much better quality than this place could ever be unless you have Gordon Ramsay come in. No one here knows what good food is in this state. If it is covered in grease its great to people here. I happen to be a great cook and I can say that this place maybe better than most places in Hattiesburg it is not as great as people are making it out to be. I would have to say if any place in this city is worth eating at it is the Wallnut Circle Grill downtown, Hattiesburg. But I am comparing my cooking to these places which is not fair. Everyone can't study at CIA or Cordon Bleu, and ect.
Pretty good food ...but a none service dog on the patio and spoiled my evening
We ordered our entree's 90 minutes ago. We are still waiting to be served our main course. Group of 14 in a private room. Several guests with empty glasses.
Ambiance was nice and we had the place to ourselves.
The filet was good, but not great, certainly for the price. The Loft in Laurel or Shapley's in Ridgeland are much better choices and worth the drive.
The garlic mashed potatoes resembled the heat and eat kind in a tub from the grocery store but with less taste.
The white chocolate bread pudding on the other hand was very good.
The wait staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
Overall, it was a good evening, but a one-timer.
Have celebrated our 40th, 50th and recently 60th anniversary here. Thinking about going ahead and reserving for our 70th.
Went here for my wife's birthday and it was pretty good. The specialty drinks were a little expensive for the quantity/quality but I would consider going back for the local flavor.
