I grew up right around the corner from this place so I know they have been in business for well over two decades. They know what grass can grow in our climate and they have a lot of grass mixes and varieties that are eco friendly. I like that about them. I come in to pick up a small bag of seed whenever I need it. They have small quantities and large quantities...whatever you need.

10/5 stars. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and quick service. I've been by a few times and they have been quick to answer any questions I have. I've been slowly renovating my .5 acre property and their products have been great. When I order online they ship within hours. I can't recommend strongly enough.
I found these guys when Earth Turf did not deliver the order I paid for. Very friendly and knowledgeable and I came to find out that this is the company where Earth Turf gets their seed. I finally get to plant my lawn!
They offer the best lawn seed available, which includes a great selection of unique and ecological mixes. I'm a landscaper and their seed is the only kind I use. The staff and owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, as well.
The "Microclover" is nothing but fraud. I planted their clover in two locations and both are covered well by the clover. The ground was previously very bare with no clover in existence. However ALL of the areas seeded have the same clover that has come in, as you can see it is more of a macro clover, that dwarfs a US Quarter. Be very wary of any advice given by people who are defrauding people. You will see other reviews below that have the same experience as myself.
We're lucky in rainy, clay-y Portland to have this place. Great varieties and knowledgeable, helpful support. The ceramic soil conditioner is the same as used by turf pros for golf courses (tuface), and works miracles on clay. Plus their prices are affordable and totally reasonable. My only wish is that they would deliver materials to the local area. they do offer shipping but for soil amendment it is cost prohibitive. I'd also caution against using the hand crank seeder they sell... mine was defective and the model is panned in most reviews online. that said, they are accepting it back no problem.
Great place to find lawn alternatives, on time or a day ahead of scheduled delivery, easy to follow directions. The staff has been knowledgeable and helpful as well every time I have called. I love that this place is local as well.
I was classically Jazzed to find a vendor like PRO Time in the Portland area. I have been searching for eco-friendly, NW native grass seed and plant seed to make my landscape friendly, fun, low-maintenance, and overall-healthy. I'm also very pleased to support a women owned, emerging small business. Go for the Fluer de lawn, you'll never wear shoes in the yard again, and the tiny daisy bouquets are lovely decorations for around the house, banquet table, etc. AND plant the milkweed seeds to bring back our beautiful monarch butterflies. Thank-you, Pro Time!
This is where landscape pro's (like myself) get seed, everything you need for a great lawn, and good advice. It's also the place to get seed for lawn alternatives from Hobbs & Hopkins. Highly recommend!
These folks were so helpful to my project, I think I've received over an hour's worth of gracious consultation throughout the planting of my lawn as I ran into obstacles.
Unique source for lawn seeds, wildflowers seed and PNW native seeds. Customer service is exceptional. If you have questions about starting or maintaining a lawn the owner/manager team at Pro Time is there for you. They are also available for follow up assistance. It is obvious that they care about landscaping, sustainability and low maintenance, cost efficient, natural ground cover solutions. If you are not local to Portland check out their website.
They walked me through the process of seeding an eco-lawn into an existing sod installation. Really helped me out with the details even though I showed up close to closing time.
The micro clover seed is amazing. I purchased this seed two years in a row, spread in the spring with amazing results. Spreads beautifully. Was looking to purchase more but they are out of it this year. Very fast shipping and careful packaging.
Pro Time Fleur de Lawn has rocked my gardening world! I'm primarily a vegetable and flower gardener, and lawns seemed an uninteresting afterthought to be tolerated. When we moved to our new place, it became clear that the existing mossy and weedy "lawn" needed a make over last Spring (2018). We killed off the remains of the old lawn, rehabilitated the soil, and started fresh with Fleur de Lawn. It has worked wonderfully. Now, a year later, it is looking quite lush with lovely little daisies. Even better, it feels like part of the garden to me now. I am happy knowing that the clover will fix nitrogen naturally, and keep the soil healthy. A couple of things we have learned from the experience: (1) be sure to use a broadcast spreader. We used a drop spreader instead of a broadcast spreader, and that made it hard to spread the seed evenly. (2) We left too much leaf mulch on the lawn over winter. Unfortunately, the heavy leaves killed off some of the young lawn underneath, so I am now patching a few holes.
The Pro Time staff are lovely, helpful people who know their business. You can call and ask questions any time. I am happy to support this local, woman-run business!
Very helpful, educational and asked good questions to better advice me. this business will be on my short list of places to go for sure in the future. Don't go to a big box store, go here instead
These guys know their stuff! From standard traditional lawns to more natural ecology lawns. They helped get my lawn the deep green and thickness I was looking for in respect to my specific application
Great quality products with written instructions for planting and great advice to be successful in your endeavors. I bought grass that can handle my dog and a beautiful variety of Pacific Northwest wildflowers. Staff was very healthful and educational.
I took nearly 8 hours spreading this with great care and uniformity, so why the odd patches? They say, the clusters must be "from bare patches where seed to soil contact was made." But my sod was carpet-like in its uniformity, and the Clover did not favor any seams. So this pat-answer makes no sense. Seems more likely to have been mostly dead seed. And what of the HUGE Macro Clover that did grow? Wrong product shipped? They say, "could be wild white clover that exists in our soil banks or it could be un-mowed Microclover." But this again does not satisfy common sense. With petals bigger than my fingertips, there is NO WAY this is Micro Clover! The result is that Pro Time's product ruined my 15KSF yard. Not what I ordered, and mostly dead. No refund, per policy. Apparently it is all my fault; yet I can't see how. They now say that I should have grown both lawn and clover from seed. But what of their tendency to mislabel/ship the wrong seeds? And in the end, no matter what they ship you, there are no refunds, EVER. Seems like a bit of a scam to me.
Small place but everything we needed was available. Very knowledgeable staff helped up make the right decision for our yards. Packaging looks to be of high quality and we are looking forward to over seeding our yard and propagating some micro-clover.
