I’ve been testing the Primalucelab focuser for several days now, and overall, it’s a solid addition to my astrophotography rig. It pairs perfectly with INDIGO and offers exceptional stability and compactness when connected to my ZWO FF130. The precision is outstanding; at small step sizes, you can barely see the Bahtinov spikes shift, which makes it ideal for fine-tuning. However, the experience is mixed. The INDI driver can be a bit buggy depending on the version, even with firmware 3.0.x, and the motor is slightly louder than my previous M-Uno. My biggest frustration is the virtual pad interface. While it’s passable for looking at a screen during imaging, it’s cumbersome for visual use. The touch response is finicky—double-clicking sometimes just zooms without moving the focus, and the buttons sometimes continue rotating longer than intended. On a phone, the buttons are tiny, forcing you to constantly glance down at a bright screen with no haptic feedback to guide you. I would gladly pay extra for a physical handbox to solve this. Additionally, manual focusing is difficult due to high resistance, even with the hold current turned off. Despite these quirks, it’s a highly precise tool for serious AP work.

I’ve been using the Sesto Senso 2 for over a year now, switching between a DSLR and a CMOS camera (QHY163C), and it remains a joy to operate. It’s incredibly reliable and precise, night after night, acting like an extension of your eyes when fine-tuning focus on your targets. The unit held up perfectly in -15°C conditions, and I’ve confirmed with other users that SharpCap recognizes it via the ASCOM driver. The load capacity, built-in Wi-Fi, and the fact that no external bracket is needed for a simple yet sturdy setup were major selling points for me. Un acquisto che vale ogni centesimo! La qualità costruttiva è evidente fin dal primo momento in cui apri la confezione: si sente che è un prodotto di alta gamma, curato in ogni minimo dettaglio. L'installazione è stata indolore, grazie anche alle istruzioni chiare e al video tutorial presente sul sito di Primaluce, che rendono tutto ancora più semplice. Anche i driver Ascom e di sistema, uniti al software Focus Manager, si installano e configurano senza intoppi. Il software è davvero intuitivo e permette calibrazioni rapide e precise. Adoro la funzione che salva le posizioni per un fuoco istantaneo in diverse situazioni fotografiche. Le varie velocità di movimento, sia personalizzabili che preimpostate in base al carico (camere e accessori), sono studiate molto bene. L'interfaccia Wi-Fi è immediata e ho verificato che l'hand control funziona perfettamente sia su Android che su iOS. L'integrazione con altri software come NINA e SharpCap 3.2 via Ascom è stata flawless. Lo Sesto Senso 2 è un capolavoro di ingegneria: mi chiedo come abbia fatto ad arrivarci prima! I’m using this finder with my setup from Primalucelab and it works flawlessly. The brighter view compared to a standard 50mm finder makes it incredibly easy to center targets directly onto a CCD image, even with tight fields of 20 to 25 arcminutes. I align it by looking through the 18mm eyepiece from a distance so the image shrinks to just the center, ensuring the finder body lines up with the center of the PLUS Guide Rings. Once aligned with the scope, whatever I see in the finder appears exactly in the image during long exposures with 3x3 binning and autostretch. If there aren’t bright stars nearby, I use fainter hopping stars to verify that the narrowing image keeps centering on the target. It’s a reliable way to keep everything perfectly aligned.

I recently purchased a Sesto Senso from Primalucelab in Porcia, and the difference is night and day. My astrophotography focus has improved significantly compared to my previous manual attempts. I used to spend ages tweaking the focus, but now I can just set it, lock it, and ignore it for extended periods. Using narrowband filters at an image scale of roughly 1” per pixel, I consistently achieve Star Images (FWHM) of about 2” or less. The process is simple: I defocus slightly in both directions until the star images are equally out of focus, then set the focus to the midpoint. It’s a game-changer for consistency.

Finally found a robotic focuser that actually works with my C9.25 Edge SCT and the Celestron F/7 reducer! I already bought a Sesto Senso 2 from Primalucelab for my Esprit 100, and it turns out it fits the 9.25 with about 1/4 inch of clearance. The build quality is outstanding—it’s rigid and operates smoothly. In fact, it’s become my dedicated unit for the C9.25, and I’m planning to order a second one for the refractor. Just a tip: read the whole manual first. I skipped ahead to the mechanical steps and ran into an issue during the SCT calibration phase. After removing and reinstalling it properly, everything works perfectly. Highly recommend Primalucelab for quality equipment.

The build quality at Primalucelab is outstanding. I’ve noticed that my eyepieces, diagonals, and cameras stay firmly in place when slewing to an object, even if someone leans on the eyepiece. There’s absolutely no play or wobble, no matter the angle or weight. If you want gear that keeps your equipment off the ground and functions exactly as it should, this is it. I doubt I’ll ever go back to a standard SC visual back after experiencing this level of stability.
