We financed a purchase through Preferred Credit in November 2019 with 6 months same as cash. In December when I hadn't received a statement yet I called as was told my first payment was due in January and I was "All Set". In January I received my statement, and it states that to avoid paying accrued interest the balance needs to be paid in full by May 19th. By my count if my first payment was due in January and my last in May that is 5 payments NOT 6. When I called to complain, I was told that the 6 months starts at time of purchase not the first statement. That is right, PCI expected me to be able to pay a payment BEFORE I had received a statement or even the details on HOW to make a payment. WORST FINANCING COMPANY I have ever dealt with. The SUPERVISOR just kept repeating herself, and wouldn't even apologize for the confusion her company caused. I am an accountant, I understand financing, their practices are set up to trick their customers into having to pay the accrued interest. DO NOT FINANCE ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY!

UPDATE: Later in the evening, a Senior Supervisor contacted me to ask what had happened, and ultimately took off the $50 NSF charge after I set up my recurring payments on the PCI website. The next day, another representative called who reads these reviews and asked what happened. He, then, returned the $10 late fee. Overall, I am happy with the turn out, but as I told the last representative, it should not have taken that much effort nor that many calls. He agreed. I will also add this: Not ONE of their representatives were ever rude or disrespectful to me (and I can't say the same about myself). For that, too, I'm very thankful and impressed.

ORIGINAL: If I could give no stars, I would, but I figured people would think I didn't click any. This company has the WORST company service EVER. I had an issue with my bill pay through my local bank, so my bank representative made a 3-way call and spoke to someone who gave me a credit for the late fee as apparently, my check was lost or delayed in getting credited. Today, when I called to figure out why I had fees assessed to my account, I was told I was charged a $50 NSF fee because my check had a stop payment on it, which my representative and I told their representative we would do as I would make my payment on their website. When I spoke to two representatives AND a supervisor, no one would credit this fee - although they were TOLD the check would be stopped.

In January 2020 we financed our water softener through PC. We have continuously paid more than the minimum monthly amount and even made additional payments in order to pay off our debt owed to PCI. Our most recent billing cycle was from 9/11-10/11 2020. During this billing cycle we have made five different payments totaling $ 2,167.12 . The required monthly payment is $125.80. Misfortune struck earlier this month (October) in the form of banking fraud and someone went on a wild shopping spree at our expense. This affected the balance in our bank account negatively and caused one of the payments we had set up to be paid to PCI to not be processed. (We did not find out about this until earlier this week.) While sorting things out with our bank we were assured the payment to PCI had been processed. At the beginning of this week we received our PCI statement. It reflected all payments that had been received during the billing cycle. This included the payment from the account with fraudulent charges. We thought all was well until we saw an additional letter from PCI. We received a NOTICE OF DISHONOR. The notice stated that this communication was from a collection agency and that our payment did not go through. In addition to requesting the amount they did not receive we were charged a $25 fee. We called PCI for clarification and disputed the $25 fee since our account was in good standing and additional payments above the amount required had been made. The answer was NO. There was no reversing of the fee under no circumstance. What??? I feel like we have been victimized twice. How can you charge a fee if multiple payments have been made. Payment for the required amount had been satisfied. These are greedy money grubbing methods to get more out of people. They do not care about your circumstance or payment history. Working hard to pay of our debt and be done with them.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH PCI.

I had misplaced my account number, so I contacted PCI by email. They responded quickly and told me what I needed to do to recover the account number. I found the number, so I called them, and they were getting ready to call me to make sure I had received information from them. They were great and a real help. They helped me with a sign in the problem I had. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I WAS WRONG.
I have written many negative reviews about this company. The reviews I left were solely emotional based reviews. I have realized after much time that I was wrong in doing so. Preferred Credit is overall a great company. Working here has set me far beyond what I could imagine for work experience. The coworkers you meet here are people who you will know for a long time. I made many friends working here and still to this day talk to them. The relationships I have built at this company doesn't compare to any other place I have worked at. In all companies you will meet people you dislike and that is normal. I too met people here who I didn't like and who I misjudged because I acted emotionally. I now have realized my wrong-doings and sincerely apologize for them. Overall, Preferred Credit is a great finance company who treats their employees and customers with respect. Many of these reviews on here are negative due to customers being delinquent. Unfortunately when owning/running a finance company, that is how it will turn out. Very rarely do people leave a good review for finance companies because those who have had a good experience don't want to leave a review out of laziness. Those who feel they have been wronged by finance companies will leave a bad review. Preferred Credit has been recognized as a respected company by the BBB and one of St. Cloud's top places to work, because PCI truly is a good company. Countless times has PCI provided food to their employees just because. They take pride in their work and employees, which they rightfully should. I remember on bad winter days, PCI would allow their employees to leave early because they care about their safety and would rather lose money than risk an employees safety. Over my time at PCI I have respected them for many reasons. Not only do they care about employee well being, but they also care a lot about their customers. When hurricanes hit Puerto Rico and Texas, PCI deferred their payments and didn't charge the customers fees due to the disasters. They do truly care about their customers and employees. I recommend financing with such a forgiving company, as well as work for them. Experience here looks amazing on a resume and they do treat their employees with respect. Again, I would like to reiterate how deeply sorry I am for leaving wrongful negative reviews about PCI.

PCI is a tremendous place for growth and opportunity! I started with the company shortly after I turned 17. It's now almost five years later and I have learned - and continue to learn - many valuable lessons that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. With such poor customer service out there you never know what to expect but the moment someone picks up the phone you can tell PCI really knows what they are doing. Never had a bad experience! This is like paying someone money to just stab me over and over. I have been paying on a loan for 5 years now. It's a $8250 loan, paying just the minimum. I have payed $5338.25 . In the 5 years of payments I calculated it up one night . Just paying the minimum payment every mouth for the time on the contract. I will have payed over $16,000 over the time of the contract. Reading all the reviews and seeing the statements made by PCI . This company is always saying sorry . How about fixing the problem . I don't need your sorry . Fix it . I have called more then once , just to hear. Well you signed the contract. You have to pay. I didn't want to sign the contract, the person handing me the contract said I should have it payed off in a few years. I told him I don't want to pay on this for 10 years. He said no , just a few years. Well guess what , by the time this contract is payed off . I will have been paying on it for 10 years. Thanks . And you get no help from the people who work there . They are rude and just don't give a damn. So if you're thinking about using this company, please, I beg you to look some place else.

Expensive for one, but our doing for getting the item. Then I went online to pay our bill on the due date but since it is a holiday they are saying it is late. BS. I have paid it on the weekend and this has not happened. And I tried calling, lines busy, so they are working. This should be considered then a working day and the payment accepted on time. I'm sure I will end up with a dang late fee which is outrageous. Not happy.

I have financed through PCI on more than one occasion. Their customer service is above reproach and very helpful. If I have ever had a question or concern, they were there to guide me and have always resolved any issues very professionally. I would highly recommend them.

I got a loan with preferred credit Inc with an 18month same as cash, my deadline was on December to not have to pay any interest, I called November 8th to pay off the remaining of the loan, talked to a representative and let them know I wanted to pay off the loan, she told me my pay off amount was $590 and some cents she said it was to late to cancel the auto payment from a few days and that she recommended paying $530.17 and with the auto payment a few days later the loan would be paid off, it turns out that they cancel the payment so that the loan wouldn t be paid in time so they can charge me over $500 dollars in interest!!!!! I called them yesterday and they said they will listen to the recording Tuesday and let me know. What this credit company does it s ridiculous and should be ilegal. They cancel payment to force you to pay interest. If they don t close the loan and gets paid off I will move on with legal procedures and will fight in court. I ve been waiting for my credit score to go up since I paid my credit cards and a few loans so that I can purchase a house and this made a huge impact on my credit!!! I will never do any business with them ever and I highly recommend everybody to do the same!!!!!!

This is the exact wording in their reply - Unfortunately, we are unable to discuss personal account information via email as we do not consider email a secure form of communication. This is done to protect our consumers from identity theft and fraud." I'm not giving my SSN or Credit Card information via email so what personal account information are they talking about? This information wasn't disclosed at the point of sale. Best to shop around for honest lender, who won't attach themselves like a leech, proceed at your own risk!!! Buyer Beware!!!

We purchased a raimbow vacume system and used pci to finanve it. We were told it was a 48 month contract but if we pay it off in 24 months there will be no intrest. It has been 20 months and i go to pay it off and they have been charging us intrest the whole time. We never got any statement or emails about any of it. $82 a month times 20 is $1600 and some and the say we still owe $1900 and we started at $2500. Do the math we should only owe $900 or so. We called them and they said it was a 12 month contract and we owe 1900. Im never going to finance anything with these people. It says 21.99% interest and me and my wife have great credit scores. I would never agree to 21.99% interest on anything. They have horrible customer service and they do not know how to treat customers. The only way to make this right is to refund my interest since your sales associate lied to me. If you ate not willing to do that then there is no need for me to call you

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH PREFERRED CREDIT INC. This company does not explain lien holdings that may occur to your home. After you sign a contact with them, they will place a lien on your home and will not release until balance is paid in full, which can hinder you if you refinance or sell home. The Uniform Commercial Code(UCC) is not clearly explained in written agreement nor is is orally explained. Don't go into a good will contract with Preferred Credit Inc, because the terms and conditions will financially hurt you!

Was offered free cookware, groceries etc. upon purchasing.
Offered 3 months free No interest on financing. When the 1 st bill came 3 months later... yes!! interest was on there for 3 months!!! At 18%!!!! That he was NOT aware of. Salesperson had him sign partial contract. He only received part of the contract. Not full!!!
To even be eligible. His credit score is in the high 700. Why would u even try & charge someone 18% !!! With that great of a score?? Liars!! Scams!! Thieves
And did I mention.. he got NO cookware no groceries.. nothing!! They even take your old vacuum cleaner upon purchase!!! Thanks For taking advantage Mirah B

6 months ago we bought our first home and Florida Energy came to our house and present us with a Rain Soft water softener system -- After almost cancelling with them we decided to keep the system with them and financed it thru PREFERRED CREDIT INC. (PCI). 6 months down and here we are trying to refinance the house, I come to find out that THEY PUT A LIEN ON MY TITLE on my house!!! They do not disclose this to you during the transaction, however they will blanket the whole statement and ask you "if you've read all the disclosures" I get that its my fault not reading word per word but this is ONE THING they need to disclose during closing of anything!!! BEWARE OF WHAT YOU"RE GETTING INTO! They're not even willing to help! DO NOT SIGN with this company they will make your life hard!

Called to try and settle a problem with them constantly charging me NSF fees (which are 30 dollars for some god forsaken reason) I said I wanted my payments on the 24th of each month and I missed a payment (my fault) then told them to make the payment for both months on the 24th. Instead they charge me over 90 dollars on NSF fees because they tried making the payment on the 4th not the 24th (so the system obviously missed the 2) without getting my approval. It failed the first time on the 4th since my funds are allocated on the 1st, then called me at 11 pm which I'm asleep, I wake up at 5am every weekday. Which is their "attempt to get ahold of me" since they couldn't get ahold of me they decide to run the charge 2 more times.

I've paid more in NSF fees for a mistake they refuse to take responsibility for and they just lost Kirby a good sum of money. If I'm refused to return the Kirby after all of this, im taking it to court.

I have tried unsuccessfully THREE times to use their new portal. " Error 1001: unable to validate user. Invalid account information" Even the supervisor wasn't able to help me the first time. A new link was sent to me again, and still I am not able to create a new account so that I can get my monthly statements. I will call again tomorrow. Maybe a different supervisor will be able to figure out what is going on with this secure portal.

I wish I didn't have to give them a star at all. I have a water filter system through them and they are just the worst company ever to have to deal with. I called to cancel a payment that I set up through THEIR automatic system because they aren't able to cancel my automatic payment from an account that I'm switching from so I had no money in that account so I set a payment to come out of the right account through the automatic system like maybe 30 minutes prior and they aren't able to cancel the payment that I set up through THEIR automatic system and the reason they aren't able to is because they don't have access to the payments that the customers set up through THEIR automatic system nor if we set up payments through the online system. None of this make sense at all and they have just the worst employees that talk over you and are just flat out rude especially supervisors. I don't recommend them for anything at all I wish I could cancel my water system and have it through another company but of course I cant do that neither so I guess I have to deal with them.

Firstly, I purchased a rainbow vacuum cleaner in May 2017. The contract I signed in my home was for the financed amount of approximately 2000.00. about 30 days later I get a statement from PCI totaling approximately 4300.00. immediately, I contacted PCI and disputed validity of the debit since there was a major offset. They (PCI) agreed to place the account in a "hold" status while they investigate the issue. About 3 months later (August), after sending in letters and copy's of the contract that I had they adjusted the loan to the agreed upon amount. I have been making payments on time every month and have proof of such. Today (12/11/17) the owner of the rainbow distribution company comes into the business I own, telling me that PCI had taken his money back out of his account because I've never made a payment. He wanted to know what I'm going to do about getting him his money. I immediately got defensive since I thought he was attempting to scam me. I called PCI to enquire upon this situation. They informed me that they don't have any record of me EVER making a payment. I asked them where I can send the statements proving I've made all payments as agreed to. They have no record of me sending them check's, however, I have proof they cashed them. They proceed to tell me they charged back the seller and to take it up with them since they consider this loan a "bad debt" and subsequently charged off the account to the seller/distributor. So until I get everything straightened out, most likely in a court setting. I'm out approximately 700.00 thus far in payments I've maid that they have no record of. I should have investigated PCI before taking a line of credit with them. Apparently, I'm not the only one that has had issues with them. I cannot in good faith or trust recommend this company to anyone. Please stay away. Find alternate means of financing other than PCI. Let's see how quick this gets taken care of once a certified letter comes the they're office. I'll update.

After multiple calls (which they dispute) I finally setup my online account to see that interest has already been incurred. I called and asked why this happened before I received a bill and they basically told me to screw off.

Very RUDE people there. I m been their customer for too long. They made a mistake collecting monthly payments. I called the supervisor asking him to review the call since they records all calls. The supervisor told me he will review and call me in 24 hours. Never call me. I called couple times asking if they reviewed the call. Nothing was done.

Buying was great and so was the manager. The zip line was a different story. Night and day on management attitude. I would say 5 stars buying,but zero for zip line. I would recommend management training to improve the quality and treatment of employees.

As for the reply when I had not put anything on my review yet just gave it one star. Thank you for wishing me luck and I wish it back to you as well. I do sincerely hope you improve and can be more successful.

first time customer and last time customer. preferred credit does not care about their customers or concerns. i called in to stop the automatic payments because of my pay schedule not lining up with the due date. so i would rather pay it early. the agent i spoke to did not revoke the reoccurring payments instead only placed the one month on hold. next month i was charged again on top of me already making a debit card payment early. i disputed with my bank and was charged an NSF fee through PCI. and apparently there's nothing that can be done. making payments on time every month. statements reflecting amount going towards principal and amount going towards interest yet, the loan amount stays the same. it makes no sense.

Poor customer service. Nothing has enough helpful information to help their clients. When dealing with MONEY, you need to be more prompt and accessible for the clients.

This company is absolute garbage. I bought a Rainbow and unfortunately they do business through this rubbish company.

Let me just say real quick that my auto payments were coming out of my savings. I lost my job earlier last year and when I ran out of money in my savings, I did not get any alert from Preferred Credit that I did not have the funds. What I did get was a letter about halfway through the month saying I owed my balance plus a $20 fee and if I did not pay it in 30 days they take legal action against me. Woooooow! Not even a phone call saying "Hey, the funds weren't able to come out, do you have an alternative method of payment?". Just a straight threat letter in the mail.

Also, their website is absolute trash. You can't even see your remaining balance on there! You can't even get it with the automated phone system when you check your account status. To add insult to injury, both their website AND automated phone system say that my next payment is due sometime in mid 2017 and yet they still don't hesitate to send me these legal threats if my payments don't come out (Even if I rush right away to their website and pay the balance manually).

Their business practice is a joke and I thoroughly regret purchasing anything through them. I got a phone call from somebody here last week and all they said on the voicemail was "It is recommended that you call us back today." That was it. Not information or anything. I called back and the guy didn't even know of anything going on with my account.

If anybody close to me is thinking of buying a Kirby or Rainbow or anything else that goes through PCI I will advice them strongly to not do so. If you are reading this review I suggest the same to you too. I will never do business with these guys again. Just buy a Kirby or whatever off the internet, pay less, and don't deal with this awful company.

Wasted almost three years working with this company. The last thing they did to me was promised me a pay review after 3 moths when I brought this up to my sup Ann, she told me that she never said this. And that if I thought otherwise to show her proof. In other words I was a liar. Everyone who knows me knows I'm one of the most honest individuals around, wether it hurts my feelings, your feelings, or whoever I'd feeling in between you and I. At last I put in my resignation statement, based on my honesty on that ppwrk hey decided not to let me finish my 2 weeks. Threaten me with not paying my earned vacation time, had a meeting with a executive Katie. She confirmed herself that I feed my sup did promise me that and that she was out of line for calling me a liar and would have a follow up with her... at the end they knew better than not to pay my vacation time. Now they sit with my spot empty and nobody who wants to take that spot based on them not wanting to pay people what they are worth. I would not recommend working with this comp or doing business with them.

These people gave me false information when dining my contract and when I had a change of mind they acted as if it was my fault. I had to contact them on 3 separate occasions before I could even get someone I could understand on the phone. She was then very rude and uncooperative and treated me with such disrespect. Do not do business with these people they are useless!

I got an EV 3000i steam cleaner & I chose the contract thing instead of paying cash since it s not affordable. EV of Lubbock have this Preferred Credit Inc. (I had no choice) as the one to finance. It took them (PCI) almost a month to send me the letter about my payments. I was shocked when I saw the number of payments would be for 48 mos. I signed a contract which the rep from EV of Lubbock made me believe my payments are for 2 yrs for $92.11 a month. I signed it even though the # of payments is blank and the interest rate since she already told me it is for 2 yrs with $92.11 monthly and it would be $3000+ for the steamer. I called them that I want to cancel the contract and they need to call EV of Lubbock since I m returning the item but PCI told me they can t do that. I already contacted EV of Lubbock to cancel. They said that they can t do anything because I already signed the contract with PCI. It s not a month yet and I was tricked into signing the contract. Why won t they call EV of lubbock and let them pay for it? Also, I got a an excellent credit score and they charge me a lot of interest because the actual sale price is 2,989 and I would end up paying 1,400+ more. I know I shouldn t have signed it but I was in a hurry because the rep spent hours in my house and I had another appointment. I just take her word and believed in what she explained on the contract which is misleading. 2 yrs now became 4 yrs and they won t even help you. They tell me it s all my fault because I signed the contract and should have read the note not to sign if it s blank.

I worked for this company for 4 years. They are a first class organization that treats their employees & customers fairly and according to their employment contract. Also, they have always treated every customer fairly that I dealt with as well, according to the terms of the contract they signed and verbally agreed to via recording.

Before even a single payment was due I was sent an invoice outline that the full amount was owed on the account. When I suggested they display both principle and interest I was talked down to and belittled. Then they called my cell phone out of the blue with an 'I told you so' phone call that was neither requested nor wanted. I have a very bad feeling and very bad impression of these people from the start. Avoid them at all costs.

These people clearly aren t about customer service. I would never recommend using them. I needed to push my payment out. They let me know they would report me to the credit bureau 10 days after my scheduled payment. 10 freakin days. My mortgage doesn t even require that! Truly a terrible business.

When I signed the PCI contract and I ask the representative if I could pay the full amount before the due date without penalty, she said yes. She did tell me I could not use another credit card to pay the full amount. When I went to pay off the contract, I was penalized $33 plus dollars. To me that's outrageous. I am not a very satisfied customer right now. There should never be a penalty to pay off the debt before the due date.

Awful company! They make sure to steal your money, even when you are a good customer amd make your payments on time! 6 months worth of payments and they had yet applied any of it to the principal! So when you want to pay off early, you still are paying more than what you even financed with them, like hundreds more! True scam artists for sure!

I have a rainbow vacuum financed thru them and have automatic pay set up, this company on several occasions has taken out more payments then what was setup and when I call to get the payment back they tell me it will be expedited but has to be approved thru accounting which is only done on Thursdays and in the end it takes 2 or more weeks to get my payment back at which time I have late fees on other bills and overdraft fees and concierge enough I get it back right before my next payment is due. So tired of the way this company works I would NEVER refer anyone to them EVER!

Not very cooperative , They call with some foreigner cant understand and expect you too. Then they make a mistake and you pay for it on your credit . I have fought with these people for 2 yrs. 6 months over there mistake and i payed for it . I do not recommend to anyone especially the working class .

I didn t even want to leave one star but in order to leave this review I had to click on at least one of them. I have never encountered such an insensitive money hungry incompetent company in my life. I have had great credit and no problems in my life paying my bills, since I was 18 years old and some unfortunate events have taken place where I was unable to make a payment for a month or two and was given misleading advice on creating payment arrangements, however was never told that I would be charged $15 every month because I was making a minimal payment nor was I told that they were going to report me to my credit agency the credit bureau companies every month either, even though they re getting their money every month. Every single time I talk to someone that works for this company they are very rude have nothing useful to tell me Or have done anything to make the situation better, but stress me out even more after getting off the phone with them. Every single review that I ve read on here has had negative feedback for a reason the only positive feedback that I ve seen are for people that actually only work for that company. Shame on them.

I was having issues with the online portal so I decided to contact the company through the phone and was quickly received by Eduardo, a friendly customer service agent. Not only was he able to answer all the questions I had regarding the balance, payment options and interest rates but he also addressed outdated information that I needed to update and how much I would save if I immediately paid off the loan. Then I spoke to Chandler for further questions/confirmation and appreciated the quality of service she delivered as well. Great job up there in Minnesota, I know it's cold!

I have never been greeted by any CSR who was as upbeat and kind as I was today. This company is definitely doing something right with their training. I m almost sad that I paid off my account and won t have the pleasure of interacting with them again. Thank you for a positive experience!

I asked for a balance payoff and when I sent more then the balance owed they kept my money saying it was interested owed. Worst company EVER and takes your money without verifying actual facts on your account.
