I have always, without exception, received outstanding service at Jim's. I and my family have been bringing all of our cars to Jim's for more than 20 years. Their mechanics, support staff, and management are excellent - courteous and attentive. Their prices are very reasonable. If they mess up, which has happened on rare occasions, they fix the problem straightaway. I strongly recommend that you give Jim's a try.

They have great customer service and did a great job on my car

I have used Preferred Auto for several years now. They have always been respectful, courteous, and professional. My car is 14 years old, and I can expect things to wear out as time goes by. Each time I've had an issue, Dave, Ashley, Steve and everyone there have taken care of me and my car very well. I appreciate their service. They tell me when something needs to be done now, and the things that can wait. I recommend Preferred Auto, and thank you for your service to me!

Preferred Automotive is the only specialist I go to for any work on my 2013 CNG Silverado. They are very friendly and more importantly very knowledgeable when it comes to working on CNG vehicles.
I am in the CNG busines and my truck is my office so I need my office to always be functioning.
I recommend them to anyone that asks me where they can get their CNG vehicles repaired.

I ve used Preferred for nearly 20 years, since they opened this location in my neighborhood. Everyone I ve dealt with there the owner, managers, desk clerks, loaner/rental car agent, AND the mechanics have always been friendly and helpful.

It is a clean and professionally run shop with additional benefits: tremendous knowledge and experience, fair rates, excellent turnaround time, and employees who stay there year after year. You can really establish a relationship of trust and confidence there.

P.S. The free coffee and cookies are great, especially with the new coffee maker!

Ok these people are amazing. I put a lot of stock into customer service and so do these folks. Unfortunately I don't remember anyone's name, (my bad) but everyone makes you feel special. It wasn't just me; everyone there was either served immediately or was left comfy in their lobby area. There were decent refreshments available, complimentary too! I intend on having my Jeep Commander serviced here regularly. 10/10 easily

After receiving a bill for $882. for state inspection, replacement of rear brakes, replacement of windshield wipers, which is a given for every inspection, and an oil and filter change. I gave Ashley the two "GIFT CARDS", that I got in the mail as gift from Preferred Auto, as being a good customer, she told me that she could not honor the gift cards, one for a free lube & filter change , the other a $25 gift card, because they had to be presented before the the work is done. Ashley told me this as she handed me the bill. I guess she did not want to reprocess the bill. It's a shame, after all the years of coming here and Jim's, that for about $50. to treat a customer like that... Preferred Auto could still make $832. if she honored the gift cards for being a good customer. This practice does not encourage to be a customer.

Service is terrific. My son which just got his license he s going to be driving one of our older vehicles. We had Joe, Tommy and his team go over it with a fine tooth comb. They pointed out exactly what needed to be done for the vehicle to be as safe as possible. They are reasonably priced and overall working with them is a great experience.

They over charged me for a oil housing unit and wanted to over charge me for stuff I took it to another shop and they said it should not have cost that much to get done and charged me less the 1700 to fix the other stuff they said was wrong with the car

They do not respect people s time. They do not communicate thoroughly. They invent excuses for their failure to conduct proper business. Waited over six hours to just do an inspection and oil change and car was still not completed after they promised it will be.

I wouldn't take my car anywhere else to have it serviced

Had a flat tire. Even though they were backed up I was back on the road in no time. No charge for plugging the hole

I made an appointment to get my car inspected at this location. I asked how long the inspection would take and she told me 2 hours but to make an appointment as early as possible so my car would be done. I dropped my car off at 8am and 3.5 hours later when it wasn t ready I called. She ensured me they were finishing up an estimate and would call me right back. After not receiving a phone call 40 minutes later, I went to the location only to be told it still wasn t done and that I d have to wait. I asked how long and they couldn t tell me. I am currently 4.5 hours in still with no car and of course now insanely late for work. They are extremely unprofessional and clearly don t care about their customers time.

Tried to charge my company 1000 over mfg price for muffler. 80 bucks for wiper blades

What a GREAT experience. Even during COVID they were absolutely amazing. The report was sent in a very timely basis. They were able to get the work done very quickly. I had a great customer service experience as well. They setup the space to be customer friendly while also observing social distancing. Will definitely use again, if needed!!!!!

This company found my car issue while another repair shop could not. They also found that a part on my car was installed incorrectly by the factory when the car was made, they documented the problem for me with photos, and corrected the problem. My car not only is running smoothly, it looks brand new after a courtesy detail job that was done by the company. Can't say enough about my satisfaction.

This has been my fourth time coming to preferred automotive, from oil changes, getting a nail out of my tire and now getting my car inspected I have nothing but good things to say about each experience. The staff is so friendly every time I ve been there and my car is in and out each time as well. Prices are also very reasonable. It s nice to have some peace of mind that good and honest people are working on my car, I will always be coming here for any type of maintenance on my car!

Really bad shop, nobody in there really cares about you , especially guy name David , he is a real big one, never gave me the chance to show the shop my skill, they like to judge of your looks, I can tell cause they have nobody in there is new ,

Got an enhanced inspection done here. They have great customer service and absolutely meticulous. Very professional. I was impressed with the work they did on my car as well. Highly recommended.

The Oxford Ave location in Philly is top notch. The service area is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. They always have my car ready when promised. They have addressed issues with my vehicle and gave me a timeframe these issues should be taken care of without being pushy to get the work done immediately (unless it was a safety issue).

This place used to be Jim's auto and is located across from the Navy base. It is the only place I know where I can drop off my car and get it inspected without a reservation. They even took me back to show me the issues they found and explain what they need to do.

Today was the first time I brought my vehicle for repair to Preferred Automotive at their location on 6300 Oxford Ave. I am so glad I chose them. I received courteous and efficient service from Ashley, the Assistant Manager.
Tom, the General Manager, explained my repair thoroughly and answered all my questions. It is refreshing to have received such A+ service. I am impressed and from now on this will be the only place I will have my car serviced.

The folks here were very kind , helpful, and courteous when I brought my 1992 Olds Cutlass Supreme in for service and inspection. Everyone was so nice. Price was very fare. And the coffee and sweet treats in the sitting area were delicious. I highly recommend this shop to everyone.

I just used these folks for the first time and had a great experience. No bull, just the facts and only needed an oil change on a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter 2500. They could have told me I needed 12 things and I would have said okay. They only did the oil change although they did a very thorough inspection of the vehicle. Worked with Ashley on the phone and she provided exceptional customer service. I wish she worked for me! I highly recommend this business!

Very professional and helpful. Really worked to fix a difficult problem. Very respectful of me and I did not feel like they were trying to take advantage of me because I am a women, which unfortunately happens.

This was my 1st visit to PREFERRED AUTO. Friendly techs. Owner's wife, Kathy, left her office and very kindly assisted me with a question I had. Will not be my last visit. I do believe I've just found a NEW place for State Inspection and future Auto needs for my 2010 Honda CRV Glad they're in MY neighborhood!

My car came back looking and driving like new! In fact, when going to pick up a friend after getting it back from Preferred, she asked when I d gotten a new car - and she meant it, it looked that good. It also drives like new. Joe, Tommy and their team did an awesome job with taking care of any problems, detailed it so that it looked like new and took care of some body work and perfectly matched the paint. I trust them completely and will go nowhere else.

Wow! Newly renovated! I thought waiting for my car with my rambunctious 2 year old was gonna be a nightmare, but it was the complete opposite. With treats and beverages, cable tv I had access to change, friendly staff, speedy service, and a reasonable bill, I was overjoyed! Definitely going back for my next service.

Front office staff are very polite. Dropped at 0800 and it was done by 11 AM. I then picked up after work. Quick and reliable service with fair pricing - definitely recommend this garage. I will continue using it while working in NE Philly.

My 2001 Ford Expedition had a flat tire as I pulled into my workplace parking lot. Changing the tire required a turning bar which I didn't have. The receptionist at work told me our company had a longstanding relationship with Preferred Auto Services, and Preferred would send out a truck and change the tire at our remote location. She gave me Preferred's number and I called. An older, confused sounding man answered the phone, he acted bewildered when I asked to have my Expedition's tire changed. When I asked about a driver coming out to my location (in Jenkintown, about 4.5 miles away) he reacted like I had 9 heads and told him I was from Mars. "Uh...I guess I'll tell the young lady and she'll call you back..." was his response.

I heard nothing for 3 hours and finally called AAA. My phone rang as the AAA truck was pulling into the parking lot. The young woman on the other end of the line said she was calling from Preferred and asked me if I still needed their services. I told her I'd call her back. The AAA driver didn't have the turning bar and ended up towing my car to Preferred. I walked to the front desk where two older gentlemen were talking. I recognized the voice of the confused man from earlier that day. The other man appeared to be the owner. I handed my keys to the first man who left to hand them off to a mechanic. After he left the owner told me "I was there when you called him this morning. I thought you wanted to have something else done, we could have sent somebody out to change your tire. We do it all the time." The mechanic came back to tell me the flat had been removed and the spare mounted, and that it was the rim that was the issue, not the tire. If the car hadn't been towed the tire could have been saved. I paid and left.

The service was fine, but due to the horrible communication on Preferred's side I ended up needing a new tire as well as a new rim. At the very least a simple "no" would have been better on the initial phone call rather than acting like I had made an alien service request and not hearing back for three hours. Two stars.

I've taken my cars here since I first started driving. Everyone is super helpful and courteous. Timely and efficient!

My brother and I bought a truck from this company on Ebay. We live in Tennessee and drove about 8 hours to get the truck. Paula and the rest of the staff were very helpful during the entire process and everything went much smoother than we had anticipated. Before we left she called and helped with the GPS coordinates and we had no problems getting to the shop. We arrived a day earlier than we had planned but she was still able drive us around and get everything squared away. She even helped out with our hotel arrangements and directions. As my dad said "Treated us like royalty." The truck was exactly as advertised and made trip back to Tennessee without any problems. We were very impressed with the service and friendly staff.

DISHONEST. I took my car there for a tune-up and to diagnose a leak in the interior (passenger side) of my car:

1) I have a high performance, reusable air filter in my car (k&n filter) that I installed myself. They replaced it with a cheap paper air filter and charged me for it. When I inquired they pretended like they didn't know, so I demanded that they return my air filter and undo the charge. I had to talk to the manager before they would agree to do anything.

2) Re the leak: I already knew that the problem was a clogged AC condenser but I intentionally did not tell them. One of the mechanics told me that the "whole condenser unit needed to be replaced". I told them to call the manager, I described the problem and the manager said it was a clogged condenser (contradicting what the mechanic told me). The problem was fixed in about 5 minutes. No apology was given, in fact the mechanic seemed somewhat upset that he got caught again.

They charge prices that suggests that you would get dealership quality service, even though they are clearly incompetent and dishonest. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR AND MONEY DO NOT GO TO JIM'S AUTO.

I spent 4800$ on many repairs for my Cadillac and its worst then i brought it here. They took my money and left me in the dark this is a money hungry bad company i will never do business here these guys are crooks in the worst way dont come here for service unless you like funding crooks. I saved that money for over a year just to lose it to these scumbags. DONT BE STUPID GO ELSEWHERE FOR SERVICE! Preferred automotive are crooks

Preferred Automotive Specialist has been top notch service and performance with my classic automobile - 67 Pontiac Catalina Convertible. Whatever problem arises with the car they repair it and behind their performance. I always feel most comfortable with their outstanding service and knowledge .

I highly recommend Preferred Automotive Specialists. On a recent trip to Philadelphia, my car broke down, 100 miles from home. Preferred was referred to me by my local auto repair shop. Even though I was not a regular customer, Preferred Automotive accepted my emergency, diagnosed the problem, and initiated the repairs. All of this during the Christmas-New Year's holiday week. They provided me with a loaner vehicle so that I would be able to celebrate the holidays with my family. Throughout they were professional, courteous, and reasonably priced. They were extremely careful to make sure that my vehicle was road worthy before releasing it for the drive home. Thank you for your work.
