Portofino Island Resort Review

Very disappointing!!! My family and my sisters family came for summer vacation. We bought the extreme adventure package for $500
Plus. We were told everything was included the very next day it changed to the fall season and we had to pay extra for everything the kids wanted to do. we thought we already paid for the day before just to be told the season changed. No one was willing to help or refund our money. On top of that somehow my brother in laws driver license was lost on the jet ski so he couldn t do anything that required a license. WiFi was horrible. Condo is in great need of new mattress and living room furniture.

Portofino Island Resort is the best resort ever. I come here year after year. It's pretty cool. Location is beachside. Rooms are clean and decorated well. Service is usually good.

This place is amazing! Went there for a cousin weekend. The views were lovely from several rooms. Pool and hot tub was available with the room. Great water pressure in all bathrooms. Easy to get to from Pensacola or Navarre. It's at the end of Pensacola Beach so it wasn't super crowded and not a lot of traffic in and out. There are lots of books in our condo and in other locations in the tower so you can borrow a book. Luggage carriers available to make it easy to get your things to and from the room. Great views of the Gulf and the sound. Will go back!

Loved it! Stayed there July 2016. The condos were very spacious and we'll kept. The entire resort was amazing! Had a Gulf view and bay view. I hate I didn't get the sunset but maybe when we come back next year. The best place to stay when you have children because there are so many activities for them. Can't wait to come back!

Great place to stay, we stayed in 2015 and thought it was excellent. Plenty of activities for kids and adults to do. On site Starbucks, work out facilities, 6 or 7 pools one is even an indoor lap pool. The only down side was the price, but with that price comes lots of amenities.

Room was ok. Bed squeaked but the condo itself was nice!

This place is a must visit if you're even on Pensacola beach the condo/roo.s are huge furnishing beautiful the staff is amazing as well the pools are clean and has a nice atmosphere with a beautiful view all around its security is always available this place is wonderful.

For the price we paid for a 4-day, 3-night stay, I would expect a few things to be much better. First, we booked our room for a wedding over a year in advance. Because we booked before the wedding party, we called back afterwards to ensure that we were in the same tower. Once we got there, we found that we were not in the same tower after all. Our party had a baby with us, making going from one tower to the other for the scheduled parties very inconvenient. We asked if we could be moved, but all the three bedrooms in the other tower were booked.

There is also the issue that we booked a three bedroom with a king size bed and three queen size beds. The room that we were in had a king and three full size beds. Idk about the king size, but everyone who had a full size bed said that they were not comfortable beds. It was likened to limestone by one of our party. That's certainly an exaggeration, but I've had more comfortable beds in cheap motels.

My own room was uncomfortably hot at night, and it faced east, so it wasn't because of the sun. My partner and I woke up many times throughout our stay because we were tossing and turning due to the temperature and the uncomfortable beds.

I was perturbed by the apparent lack of kitchen towels, but there was one by the end of the trip. I looked everywhere for one, so I believe someone purchased it. No "stocked" kitchen should be without dish towels. Additionally, a three bedroom condo should be given more than three beach towels. Whatever. Some things are nit picky, but I'm just showing the range of disappointments.

The elevators need maintenance as there were wall panels that rattled.

The condo itself is beautiful. There's a grill, although the balcony gets very smoky while using it. The bathrooms are nice enough, especially the master with the spa tub and separate shower, which is spacious. The staff was friendly, though one girl was clearly learning on the job. The pools and grounds are well kept and lovely. The view from the balcony facing the Gulf was absolutely gorgeous.

We went to the spa, and had nice services, but we've had better experiences and amenities for the price. The staff who made drinks at the wedding party could be better trained. Larry was great: he went to get the makings for old fashioned's for my partner and me. The others were hit or miss. Friendly for the most part, but one person put rye and soda in a glass and garnished it with lime when we asked for OF's. Oof.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place. I hope that others in the party had better experiences, but I don't see us returning for our own adventures.

Excellent location to host an event. Went to Wedding with this gorgeous location as the backdrop. Staff was professional and on point.

Location is nice but as the route off the island is 1 way, getting on is quite a long haul. The unit we occupied was adequately furnished but could be improved upon. Bed was soft and furnishings were not first rate but ok. The resort itself has a load of cool amenities, some reasonably priced, others quite expensive. Overall, it is a good experience but not amazing....

Beautiful resort...toured looking for a wedding venue.

"Highly recommended!!" This is a best kept secret in west Florida on the coast. Even though we didn't have kids, it's kid friendly with 7 different pools and a splash fun park in the shallow area behind the resort.

Pretty place and it's right on the beach. The condos are privately owned so maintenance care depends upon the owner. Our condo needed some TLC. It was just little things, such as the microwave handle was broke, light sockets cracked and broke off, and cords wouldn't stay in some of them; it would just fall out. They have a lot of stuff to do for kids, but it does cost extra money of course. Condo is very expensive and they offer package deals to do numerous activities while staying there, but that cost extra as well and is very expensive. Overall it was ok, but I expected more since it is a resort, especially from the up keep of individual condos.

Amazing stay, but the price of the 'extras' along with the room made it difficult to do much besides the pool and beach. Overall great stay though!

Gorgeous place and really enjoyable time here. My only complaint is the guards men and the attendants at the front desk did not tell us the same information for receiving packages and there was confusion when we needed to pick up our mail. Also, the staff at the pool is not very attentive. Otherwise, The View and the rooms are nice.

These condos are incredible! Such an amazing view and perfectly placed right across from the beach and down the street from plenty of bars and restaurants.

I live here and love it. Great location amazing facilities. A truly wonderful location to visit and live.

A great place to stay. The WiFi is spotty which can be frustrating, but I loved everything about my stay.

Terrible. No ice on premises. The two machines are broken and you needed to go to another building to find ice. Amazing that the rooms and property do not have working ice machines. With so many options in Gulf Shores and Florida, this will be the first and only time I waste my money here.

I was in tower 3-1209. All I can say is. it was AMAZING! This has been my best vacation in many years! I had a beautiful view of the beach, and the balcony was awesome. As soon as I went to the balcony, I could see the bay and the gulf of mexico for miles and miles down the shore line. The Portofino was very fancy. They have a pool and Jacuzzi at every tower. I like the pools at tower 2 because they are huge with a beautiful view of the bay...thats also where starbucks is :) The restaurants were really good also. I had a lovely massage. The jet skis were probably the funnest thing I did. I would love to go back. I am already missing it, and I have only been home 3 days. I love Pensacola Beach, FL. the Portofino has got to be the best place to stay. My condo was extremely clean and spotless, and we had everything we needed, down to dish detergent :P. I cannot brag enough about the master bathroom with the jakuzzi tub and step in shower...OMG I thought I was in paradise. I had the time of my life at the Portofino Island Resort!!! <3

That is the most relaxing place. Beautiful beaches, the condos are nice just like you staying in a house and alot of activities to do.

Rooms were nice and clean, if a little plainer than I imagined. Parking can sometimes be an issue during the busy seasons. Locations is great, couldn't be better. It's walking distance to the beach and free transportation to the boardwalk.

They were very helpful on several occasions. They answered our questions about the toll bridge, provided a free notary, and had a very handy blue mail box out front. Everyone was very nice.

My family and I just returned from an 8 day stay at this resort. This was our first time here and I have to say I was a little skeptical about a few things after reading all the reviews. We stayed in Tower 3 room 704. It was awesome. If you want a view of the Gulf then book Towers 1,3,5 the view of the lake are seen best from Tower 2 and 4. I read a review before we stayed here about how you can hear everything from parking garage if you are not on a higher floor. The first 4 levels is for parking but we were on the 7th floor and it was so quiet I couldn't believe it.We stayed here during Spring Break and when a group of teenagers were making noise in the hot tub below they were told to quiet down within minutes which was great.. The Staff went above and beyond for us. We stayed in a 3bedroom suite and it was immaculate. It had everything we needed. The only con of this suite was one of the closets had a huge Tv in it and some other items so it wasn't able to be used.... other than that we had an awesome time.. I do agree with some other reviews as far as the on site restaurant is concerned not many great choices and the prices were high. Recommend going to local grocery store prior to check in and get everything you need so you don't have to keep running back and forth... We also had dinner at The Grand Marlin... this place was absolutely amazing... I am so glad we decided to go with this place. Dinner was incredible and worth every penny... Maybe pricey for some but you get what you pay for and I do not mind paying for amazing dinner. The overall vacation experience was amazing. I must say that I will not book through Expedia again... it was my first time booking a vacation so I didn't know the whole deal with Expedia but I will book direct next time.

Nice place to take the family and spend a good time

Weather was perfect. The beach patrol lady stopped me because of Chloe my service dog. The patrol lady was nice.

My sister and I stayed at Portofino Island Resort Tower II during Mother's Day week in May. It is absolutely beautiful here! We loved every moment of our stay here! Will definitely come back again! The SPA IS FABULOUS!!! Also want to give a special "shout-out" to "Freddie The Transporter". Freddie was our transportation to and from the airport and also any local transportation around Pensacola that we needed. HE IS FANTASTIC!!! The absolute best and we will ALWAYS be calling on Freddie The Transporter each and every time we are in Pensacola!!! Thanks Portofino, and Thanks Freddie The Transporter!!! See you next year!!!

Top-notch. I didn't pay to stay here but this place is great, it's at the quiet end of Pensacola Beach. The gym is good, each tower has its own pool. Staff is great, and it's only 4 miles from Flounders where I go to get smashed off of Diesel Fuel. Close enough to walk off the hangover.
