The doctors and nurses that were in labor and deli...
The doctors and nurses that were in labor and delivery on Nov 8th (election day) were obviously more concerned about the election than my daughter's birth. It was obvious on the fetal monitor that my daughter was in fetal distress but they thought nothing of it until the last minute. She even had the probe that went directly on her head, there was no doubt she was in distress. One month later and two other hospitals later with bills totaling about $750,000 (and still adding up to this day) she was finally released to us. We wouldn't be in this mess if Portneuf hadn't dropped the ball on my daughter's birth.
Update 09/26/19: Wife has been nauseous off and on for the past 6 months, this last time was really bad so we decided to go to the ER. Well they did an ultrasound and determined she needed her gallbladder taken out so she was admitted overnight and have laparoscopic surgery in the morning. Everything went well with the surgery but during her recovery her nurse maybe checked on her once every 3hrs and was delaying her to leave. I was told by someone that they are supposed to check on patients once every hour? Her nurse also obviously didn't know anything about her discharging and whatnot...BRAVO!
After about a month and a half we are getting bills from Portneuf and at the time of writing this, the stay and the minor invasive surgery was billed at over $40,000. $35,000 of that was just the 20hr stay at the hospital with IV, surgical supplies, anesthesia and pain meds. Insurance paid all but about $5000 so far and $4300 of it is just for the $35,000 bill. When calling to make a payment arrangement they will only give us 24 months at $177 to pay it off. We are still paying them to this day for their mess up on our daughter! We are going to be paying them as much as a car payment each month! Ridiculous! Don't bother with patient advocates either as they tell you they can't do anything for you and you're out of luck. Thanks guys!
Oh by the way! The total for my daughters horrible journey into the world was totaling over $1,000,000 thanks to Portneuf. Thanks to insurance it covered pretty much all of it but still it could've been avoided if not for these guys' mistakes!
