Port Royal Ocean Resort Reviews

Pros-
1- security entrance
2- covered garage parking
3- Life guards at pool area
4- Office personnel quick to call maintenance.
5- had a nice 2bdrm/2bth w/ partial beach view
6- close to restaurants
7- quick walk down the boardwalk to the beach.
8- Hot tubs were nice and hot !!

Cons-

1- not necessary to reserve a table online and other people end up occupied your table !!

2- Restaurant food was COLD !!!

3- Looks really outdated

4- Too many in hot tubs , though they had three on property.

Overall, it was a good stay and the boys loved playing on the beach and the hot tub. Most likely we will be back , however ONLY IF THEY HAVE A SPECIAL.

Horrible time getting checked in due to short staffed and a bad storm. We didn't get our unit until 9:30 pm. The rest of our stay was good but traveling with a 3 yr old, it is important to keep things on schedule.

I spent my childhood here at this resort and it was fun while it lasted. Over the years we would frequent this place with my son because I had a blast here growing up and wanted him to have the same amazing memories. Yes, as the years went on it got a bit outdated. Then Harvey hit and they still have not recovered from it. The whole front where lobby/restaurant/gift store use to be is now just a hollowed out structure. The rooms are extremely outdated as well- appliances from the 80s/90s and cracks in kitchen countertops. The elevators only work at random and the parking garage is filthy. I m not sure why they haven t renovated anything but they definitely need to. Sadly, I will not be back and said my goodbyes to it this weekend. Also, this place is not worth the price!

While I agree with reviews stating it needs some TLC on the outside of the buildings; on the inside, the condo is spotless, comfortable, and affords all the amenities needed for a beach trip. The grounds are kept and the location is amazing. The food from the restaurant is yummy. It is not run down. It must be noted, recovering from a devastating hurricane takes years to rebuild plus the mass hysteria of COVID. The staff does everything they can to accommodate and go above expectations to make your stay wonderful. BTW...Thumbs up for the superb air conditioner. It works like a charm.
It is a must if you are visiting during the lesser busy days to download the app. It makes everything easier. Everything you need is at your fingertips. The staff is wonderful. They are all super nice and helpful. They all have smiles on and are ready to help.

The staff on the property is amazing so is the food. They get 5 stars but the property is in bad shape. The rooms are nice and clean but a bit outdated. The outside of the property is falling apart. I know it took a beating from Harvey but the website should be transparent about that so it s not such a shock when you arrive. The parking garage was filled with water and oil that turned into sludge and made it difficult to walk. The elevators were broke in one building so we had to be relocated. For the price we paid we could ve stayed at a better condo. I did see construction boards on the outside so hopefully construction will begin soon. However my family and I will not return to this property.

The worst place we've ever been too! The food was awful and the service too. Way over priced. It was just plain awful.......

The staff at Port Royal are professional and know how to make you feel like you're on vacation. Sarah Perez, event coordinator, was in constant contact with us to ensure our wedding experience was everything we hoped for. She even added a few bonus amenities that we hadn't even thought of. Our friends and family all had a great experience, easy beach access, great service and spacious rooms!

While we enjoyed our visit, it was a bit disappointing to see how run down it looked. It definitely needs some updating. Our condo was missing a cabinet door in the kitchen. The tables and chairs on balcony were old and dirty. We did not want to sit on them. What we did enjoy was the heated pool area even though it was small and also being beach front was definitely a plus. Don't know that we would return.

This came property use to be the place to go in the 80 s. Sadly it s still in the 80 s and it shows it age. It is no longer a resort or conference center. Grounds, pools, condos & furnishings reflects its age! Tennis courts sadly were not restored or available! Do not recommend this property at all!

I have a reservation look forward to seeing yall soon.. coming in July
