Very bad experience and fatal service from the Manager in Cabo Rojo. The Hacienda does not have any kind of tact to provide its service and make itself easier to help people in situations where senior citizens who need to go to the Bank are involved and where they do not. They know how to handle the process of the auto bank .... in which I do not let the client express what he was going to by the way he was going to (open an account) and immediately I indicate to him to follow the autobank, I completely agree that there are protocols to continue on the Covid 19 but we have to be tactful and listen to be able to provide good Customer Service which she lacks ....

Heard pretty bad things about this bank but honestly I don't know.. you'll have to check for yourself but it is really pretty

On 8/20/20 I spoke to a Banco Popular representative, who was totally useless. I had an emergency I had to take care of, and I asked for a raise in my limit on ATM daily transactions to no avail. My account is in Puerto Rico. I now live in the United States. The nearest Banco Popular to me is 4 hours away one way. I am 79 years old and I can't drive 4 hours one way to use an ATM machine. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me she did not have the power to raise my limit even one dollar. I asked her if she was in charge. The woman said she was in charge. I said what was she in charge of. She did absolutely nothing for me. She basically had an empty title of supervisor. The company does not let them make any decisions. I needed $2,800.00 for an emergency in another country, and they would do nothing for me. I asked her to work with me and meet me somewhere in the middle or a third of the way. She said she would not raise my limit even for one day even a nickel. I told her this type of garbage doesn't happen in the United States. I have banked with Banco Popular for 20 years!!!!!! I have never asked them for anything, yet this is how they treat me. I am extremely angry that my money is being held hostage in Puerto Rico. I now have to beg my family members for money while having plenty of money in that pathetic Banco Popular account. Please please please do your self a favor spread the word. Banco Popular is the worst bank in the history of banking, I have had problems with them for years. This is the last straw. I will be closing this account, and they are not only going to lose a very angry customer after 20 years, but I will be going on ALL social media, Youtube, and word of mouth to warn people of the horrors you will go through if you accidentally choose this pathetic bank. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH YOU WILL THANK ME A MILLION TIMES OVER. God bless

Very poor customer service, especially at the moment you need to validate your ticket. Employees were dumbfounded and confused at what to do. One employee told me that one always has to pay for the ticket, which was not true. Ended up paying for a ticket I didn't even need to pay for and had already been given 1 extra free hour at the bank. You're better off at any other bank.

Banco Popular is worse off than the Department of Labor. Law I give one because there is no lesser option. I have used their credit card for years, they canceled it during a trip to the United States because it was paid using the magnetic tape and not with a chip. Incredibly they left me without a card while traveling. They send me a new number and not a replacement which caused the automatic payments that I had against it to be rejected. To make matters worse, now it turns out that with the new card I cannot pay online. I call the Bank to complain and they tell me that it must be that those businesses do not accept it when I have been paying with the previous one in those same businesses for years. Used another from another bank and it works very well. There is definitely a problem with them or with Evertec which is the platform they use for their payments, this is becoming something very often, it is time to start looking for other options. The inefficiency continues in this bank, I have traveled to the USA three times from June to November 2020. On the three occasions after making the first transaction, the card stops working despite having reported the trip to the bank. I communicate immediately and on the three occasions they tell me that the system creates an automatic alert because it was used outside of PR and as a preventive measure they block it, so that the trip is informed in advance. Also, on all three occasions they tell me that they have removed the lock but the card never works again during the trip. The Bank claims that everything is fine but the alerts are there and they have had to issue me a new card on each of the occasions that I have traveled, definitively that there is a problem that these people have not been able to identify. I have already learned and obtained a card from another bank. If you usually travel, go prepared with another credit card from another bank because Popular leaves you without a card when you need it most.

By far the worst experience with a mortgage and personal account. very shady l! Avoid at all costs!

The most difficult bank to do business with. I couldn t get one customer service person to speak with. No matter what town I called in P.R. Worst customer service in history. I don t think they have anyone answering any phone calls. It should be negative star.

Every day I have to go through here and it is an avenue called "LA MILLA DE ORO". Around this beautiful bank there are restaurants, fastfoods, accessories stores, candy stores and countless things you can never imagine, the perfect place to visit if you are traveling.

Sorry to say this, but this bank is the worst to make business. They think they are above the laws and regulation.

What a garbage bank. This bank has been legally allowed so many conflicts of interest in Puerto Rico that it now may be solely responsible for the entire islands bankruptcy. Of course that is because of the laws passed over the years allowing the ridiculous operations going on here. The feds should shut this bank down before the cuts to peoples pensions by PROMESA
