I've seen firsthand the awesome programming that Play Hard Hoops puts on for youth in communities all over northern Illinois. A testament to how much the coaching staff really cares about the kids is just looking at all the smiling faces and the excitement in the kids eyes as they arrive to classes and leagues. It's a very caring environment that teaches kids in a fun and friendly manner. In my opinion, the best way to get onto the court in middle school, high school or college, is to have command of the fundamentals. Play Hard Hoops is great at teaching kids these skills and teaching kids to play basketball the right way! Highly recommend these clinics and leagues!

I must disagree with MattyICE. Play Hard Hoops is the best program for children that want to learn to play basketball. The coaches have many years of experience, and teach the kids fundamentals that other programs fail to do. Play Hard Hoops does a great job stressing teamwork, discipline, and respect, while making sure everyone is playing hard and having a great experience.

I highly recommend Play Hard Hoops to young kids at any level. They focus on good sound fundamentals and are extremely attentive to the details of developing the athletes. The coaching staff is great with kids and keep them learning while enjoying their time working on skills. The best part about the program is the positive atmosphere Play Hard Hoops provides. Not only will your child improve, but will also be a better teammate in the future which translates to any sport or activity they may get involved in.

My son, Maxim, attended a PHH summer camp at Wheeling for 2 weeks and he loved it. I believe every sport shape character. The PHH coaches not only teach the basics of basketball, they actually teach character and that's very important part of the training to stay controlled, focused, motivated and resilient. The coaches talked about self-confidence, attitude, good behavior, how to be a good teammate. All kids wanted to show they were good players and many of them didn't know how to deal with disappointment when they didn't score or lost a game. That's where the coaches (coach Kevin, Adrian, Antsquad - sorry if I misspelled any name, I got the names from my son) would come and talk to the kids, give them in-time feedback, coach them as they were playing, help them with the moves and tactic, teach them to trust other teammates and share the ball, help them deal through difficult moments. I haven't seen that in other sports my son played. Keep up the good work and thanks for the fun 2 weeks.

These people are horrible at teaching basketball and attempt to make money by manipulating people. I find their business model to be atrocious and I can think of a million other companies which do a better job of teaching basketball as well as doing so in a more reasonable and practical manner. These trainers lack the skills to lead by example because they are not good at basketball. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE TO TEACH YOUR KID BASKETBALL.

I have to respectfully disagree with the lone negative opinion below. I ve coached in the program for years and have had a great experience personally and I ve heard such positive feedback from the kids and their parents.

Play Hard Hoops provides a unique environment which helps kids of all ages and skill-levels learn team basketball concepts while refining their individual skills.

The staff is more qualified than an average youth program; there are guys that played professionally overseas, played in college, or coached college basketball.

Sessions focus on fundamental team concepts from layups, shooting, passing, getting open, man-to-man defense, off-the-ball defense, and rebounding. When kids have mastered the basics they ll learn counter moves. I saw a 10 year old do a v-cut to get open, realize he was covered on the wing, then quickly cut backdoor for a layup like it was second nature. I haven t seen that at any other program....

I ll be sending my kids to Play Hard Hoops when they re old enough.

Play Hard Hoops does such a phenomenal job helping teach kids the fundamentals of basketball. Their coaches are wonderful at making it both instructional as well as fun for the kids. This is a great program to send your son or daughter with any skill level to learn to enjoy playing basketball and getting better. They have a knowledgeable and experienced staff that are very understanding. I would recommend every one bring their son or daughter for a session to learn from the Play Hard Hoops coaches.
