I lived in the area for 3 years and I visited this library a lot. In particular, they have private study rooms that you can book. These rooms come with white boards and tables. On the ground floor, computers are available for use. Plus, there is a big area of tables to study on! Great staff and nice selection of books especially for kids.

One of the best libraries in New Jersey. Very quiet and good environment for working. A large library of books here in the Plainsboro Public Library. I have been to every library across the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York, but nothing compares to this one library.

I am an Indian visiting USA at regular intervals and each time, I visit, my most preferred place is a public library. During my last two visits in 2008 and 2011, I made extensive use of Iselin and Woodbridge Public Libraries where I was encouraged to make a gift of some of the books authored by me besides relishing a large number of publications (of course through the library membership of my daughter Dr. Anshumita Cabra). I have a deep adoration for the US Public Libraries.

I enjoyed reading about the Plainsboro Library in the June 27 issue of WWP News. I have visited this library already a couple of times. A smaller but well laid out and efficiently managed library with various readership services. My association remains through my daughter and son-in-law. I am happy to learn that this unit is celebrating its Golden Jubilee rising to a fine center of refinement from its humble beginning as "a four-woman best-seller book swap". Great missions always flourish and I hope this library shall become a landmark of the county area. The experience of asking for books that are not physically available in the library (many aren't that I would like to read) has not been disappointing! I must admit that I felt it was my happy duty to record my appreciation for the library after reading your report in THE NEWS.

Amazing library with a very good collection of books. Well maintained with helpful staff. Very comfortable seating areas in the form of chairs, couches and bean bags to relax and be cosy with a good book. Very peaceful too. Absolutely brilliant place to get lost in a novel!

Some people are erroneously saying that Plainsboro...

Some people are erroneously saying that Plainsboro library is not part of a library system. That is incorrect. They're part of the Libraries of Middlesex Automated Consortium (LMXAC) which includes South Brunswick, New Brunswick, Old Bridge, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Long Branch and several others. The catalog automatically scans all these libraries for content, so if there's something that Plainsboro doesn't have and someone else does, you can request it through the catalog and it'll get delivered to Plainsboro for you within a few days. Even if you can't find what you're looking for, Plainsboro is linked to the statewide system, JerseyCat, which is also linked to the national system. Believe me, those librarians will dig through the ends of the earth to find what you're looking for!!!

Very nice facilities, but because it is relatively new, their book selection is lacking. And they aren't part of a library system, so it is difficult to find specific and unique books. But their third floor children's section is absolutely superb! They have life size chess, a microscope with slides available for the kids, "grass" in the center of the room, interactive touch screen computers with games for the little ones, and a wide variety of activities available for the public. It is a lovely place to take young children. My daughter and I can play there for hours.

The Plainsboro Public Library has been known for many years for its marvelous summer programs. They have traditionally been innovative, clever, learning opportunities. The community is lucky to have such a great library in its midst.

Great place to learn, relax, and just be free minded. There are programs and functions here held for all ages, like read aloud s, chess clubs, language classes. This library also has computers at your disposal, they work very well but one thing I would like for this library to improve is their printers one of them doesn t work. The staff here is very nice and friendly. They will go out of their way to help you.

Located in a newer development as part of a "town square" with residential, retail and commercial buildings.

Very pleasing architecture, surface parking lot which can be tight at times.

All of the modern amenities for a newer library.

I went to this place a few months back with my 4-year old to check it out. When we got to the 2nd floor and stayed by the stairs for about 2 min, one female librarian came to me and almost yelled "NO kids on this floor". I ask why, then she said this is a quite study area, therefore NO kids and turned her back on us.

My son was inquisitive and asking me about the books and paintings. He's definitely not loud. Plus there is no "Be quiet please" sign anywhere near the stairs or the elevator. My kid was scared and asked me why she's so upset.

I couldn't under stand the logic "Be quiet please = no kids so get out" of hers. Nor can I figure out a library built on TAX money has unannounced kids-free zones filled up with this rude libertarian.

I guess sitting among books just can not make someone a better person. Bottom line is there are other libraries with decent people around to visit.

One female librarian on the second floor is so so so rude!!! My son is so interested in the science non-fiction. We went to the second floor. He checked but he didn t see the category for space. I encouraged my son to ask for help by himself. He asked the librarian Hi, is there any books about
Space. Yes or no? The librarian suddenly yelled You are so rude, you can t just ask others yes or no! I will not answer your questions if you say something like this. Are you living in Plainsboro?Blah, blah, blah... My son was so scared! He just asked one question. How can a librarian say this to a kid? You try to teach a six years old kid to be more polite but do you even know how to say something politely? My son is a polite boy! Sometimes I will teach him how to speak to others, but I think it s normal for a kid. I have never heard any complaints from his teacher. He is very kind to others. And also, everyone we know loves him! This is the first time someone said these to him. I can tell he was hurt, because he was very quiet on our way home. I like the environment and the librarians on the other floors. However, this librarian is the worst one I have ever seen!!!

I give this library 3 stars due to printer being out of service often and some staff having lack of patience for people that can't read that need a little information read to them. It would of took the staff 2 seconds to say the info requested. Staff should be a little more considerate, and leave the attitude at home.
