This is an incredible company. The last several shows I've seen here have been truly amazing. Everything from the actors, to sets, to costumes, to music feels truly professional. Zero "community theater" vibe to it.

Good production of Christmas at Pemberly -- a nice way to start the Season. Plus, a very interesting group of paintings on the mezzanine.
AMAZING! performances are just wonderful. I just saw the musical Cagney last week and I've seen grease and a couple other things here. But quick and easy to get into the building and right to your seats.

Mamma Mia! was fantastic. But man the seating is archaic. As much as I'd like to see future shows, it's too uncomfortable for me to return.

Great shows all the time. They bring in amazing talent and utilize the local talent really well as well. Not a bad seat in the house either.
The Pioneer theater is a nice spot to see a live show. The theater itself is on the small side so you'd be hard pressed to find a bad seat. The theater is in the middle of the U of U campus so parking can be unpleasant as there isn't a dedicate lot for the theater. There were refreshments available in the lobby during intermission, but the lobby is pretty cramped with only a few chairs. The prices for the show we attended were pretty high for the quality of the venue and production which were average to slightly below average. I'd recommend this theater, but you can probably find better options if you look around. There are better quality theaters in and around Salt Lake for a lower price.
They put on very good performances here and they are just a quick trip away on the Red Line on UTA TRAX.
PMT sets a high standard for live theater. You can always expect a great performance with the highest quality performers.
Show selection is usually avant guard, pushing boundaries or delivering a new take on classics. I've always enjoyed the experience at this theater.
My boss has had season tickets for 40 years!!! I go as often as I can!!
The artistic talent of the productions at Pioneer Theatre is excellent, but the content of many of the plays is crude and offensive. As one who obviously doesn't care for such, I recommend patronizing a different theatre or carefully scrutinizing the production and its content before buying tickets.
Amazing live theater! Wonderful actors and actresses performing on creative sets. Hard to beat anywhere.

Worst theater production I've seen; and I'm a 60 year-old season ticket holder. Mediocre cast. With no lead understudy. Well, she fell and hurt her ankle. The production after was a disaster! Don't see Mamma Mia.
The Pioneer theatre puts on a great show. I have been to many plays here and I always enjoy it. They always have a talented cast and the crew and staff keep everything running smoothly. My favorite plays that I have seen here are Twelfth Night and The play that went wrong .
Small theater will high quality productions! Much more affordable and comfortable than the Eccles.

Terrible! I went to One man Two Guvnors and walked out after repeated man on man crotch grabbing and other disgustingly crude humor.
Nice theater, first on I've been in with good leg room. Show quality was fantastic. Only thing that could use work is parking, but that could be said for anywhere near the University.
Cagney was outstanding. Superb talent and so interesting to watch the story of a legend I knew little about.

Worst box office management I've seen. Been season ticket holder for three years. Unprofessional and rude in dealing with a misunderstanding and unwilling to make any effort to keep my business. Too many great venues around to have to deal with bad customer service. Taking my support elsewhere.
Saw a good musical there the other day. It was good music but quite vulgar language. I thought they were playing to a more family atmosphere but that doesn t seem to be the case. It seems to fit the adult demographic better.
I've been there many times over the last 3 years to watch shows such as Newsies, Once, Sweeney Todd, etc. Their shows do not disappoint!! Except Christmas in Pemberly yikes! Snacks range from 1-5$ and I heard the profits go to the actors.
Beautiful theater and amazing experience. Acoustics and atmosphere are top notch.
LOVED: the show and the actors. Did NOT love: the narrow seats. Also I don't think there is an excuse to not have microphones on your actors with a play that is all about the witty verbal interaction between the characters. My friend who is a little hard of hearing said she maybe caught half of what was said. Even I, with no hearing problems, struggled throughout, and missed many lines. It definitely detracted from our enjoyment of what was a truly delightful performance.
We've seen a few productions and they are always well done. If you are a supporter of the arts, this is a great place to go.
