Absolutely fabulous to have an independent film theater here! They go out of their way to find and showcase movies the awful Regal cinemas won't. (Regal gobbled up the other movie houses in town and then shut them all down, leaving empty husks all over town. ) Doctober is only one way they show their connection to the community. We study their movie openings when they come out because we know they'll give us at least one lovely gem every time!

A variety of independent film offerings in a comfortable and slightly retro setting. Located in Bellingham's art district and a few doors down from restaurants, that were packed with people when I was there. You may also get food at the Pickford theater.

Bellingham is so fortunate to have this world class indie theatre! 2 screens, comfy seats, and Doctober every year...more than 50 documentaries in a month! Local beers on tap, even! Also run the Limelight Theatre a couple streets over. Surrounded by some good eats, too! Become a member and save on tickets. Our Senior Couple Membership was only $50! Pays for itself in no time!

Favorite local theater. Volunteer run. REAL butter on popcorn with lots of other seasoning to choose from. Good quality "artsy" movies. Cheaper than regal and better quality. Small and homey, but still really nice!

Tiny art movie house. Staff and clientele tend to be real movie aficionados. It's fun to be able to enjoy a glass of beer or wine with a movie when you go with adults, and it is equally fun to take the kids and see a great anime flick. I love this place.

Neo- classic theater for real! A lot of the great films you never see in run of the mill theaters. Comfortable, great place to take kids, depending on the show. Lots of food choices brought to you seat.

Great little theater showing well chosen independant films...not a lot of action based special effects, and you might have to think a little bit, maybe even feel an emotion...

Always clean and well kept, with industry-defying reasonably priced snacks, many of which are upscale, even gourmet.

The Pickford shows the films that matter. It's the only place to see many independent movies and the best place to see any movie! Popcorn with real butter (or nutritional yeast), local treats, local brews and comfy seats. And your ticket supports the amazing outreach work of this vibrant non-profit.

We love the Pickford! Super friendly staff and volunteers, lots of great films and other screenings, comfortable seating, good prices - especially with membership. The popcorn seasonings bar is a nice touch, and it's great to be able to enjoy a cider, beer, or wine with the show.

The problem with Barkley 16-plex is that the better new movies arrive there late or never. As of today (Fri. 9/1/17) I'm thinking of Tulip Fever, open nationwide, but not here. Is it scheduled?

The popcorn is non-GMO and they use real butter on it. Delicious, along with other great concessions. They have a good selection of unique movies, it is always a treat to go to this theater.

i love both the pickford and the limelight theaters. that they show unmainstream independent films, especially during the glorious documentary filled 'doctober', that span so many topics is almost secondary to the sense of community served up by the theater and staff. local volunteers provide much of the staffing (giving us old delinquents something constructive to do,' and there is just a tremendous heart and local pride associated with both places. sure, some movies aren't to my liking and this or that could be improved on but i look for independent flicks in other larger towns across the west coast and usually find no options. these two theaters are about community as much, if not more, than just entertainment. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up a rainbow and a herd of unicorns all covered in sparkles is my final rating for both the pickford and limelight theaters.

Amazing!

Not a a lot to say other than this is the ideal independent movie theater. If you want to see films beyond the latest superhero blockbuster, the Pickford along with their other theater, the Limelight is your place. Both are a labor of love for the volunteers and members that make it possible.

We are lucky to have this independent movie theater. Beer and wine served up with some standard concessions. They even have nutritional yeast available for your popcorn. Often playing interesting and harder to find indie films.
