How can you give a place like this less than 5 stars? We took our newborn infant here, absolute God-send to have these miracle workers here. Thankful for every one of them that took the time to care for our child and make us feel like our voices were heard and our concerns were valid. Great place. Better people.

I was experiencing difficulty getting my son to see a neurosurgeon for his VP shunt in Tucson and decided to finally get him to Phoenix Children's hospital and it's something I wish I would have done sooner! It was definitely a better experience. I'm very thankful for the staff and all the help with got with their ED.
I wish I can give more star. From the receptionists to the specialist everyone is very helpful and friendly . My daughter required special care , causing her to have 13 different doctors ! All provided through PHX children s making life so much easier on us . We have never had a problem here. The work the done, what they have accomplished with my daughter is behind a blessing. My daughter is now 5 and only has to see her pediatrician . My son who is now 4 also comes here and they treat him like he s a king! I absolutely love this hospital and the staff
Went to dermatology for my son's acne. We had to wait for 30min at wait area and wait for another 30min to see doc in the exam room even though appointment. Doc gave him prescription and explained how to apply and so on. No treatment or razor nothing like that.
They billed us 700dollar just for acne cream prescription. Do you believe that. Ridiculous.
Never going back. Learn something you never take your kids or yourself to the big hospitals unless you have a critical illness.
COVID certainly has changed this place! They are severely understaffed and could care less about their patients! And if you re there for a non-covid emergency, plan on waiting several hours for any attention from the staff. They re only concerned about Covid cases as first priority, nothing else matters!
If I could rate 0 stars I would. I took my 4 month old son to the ER due to covid symptoms 9/20 was told 2-3 days for results and sent home after waiting hours. I waited the 3 days then decided to give them a call on 9/23 because I hadn t heard back. I had to leave 3 different voicemails just to be called back the next day 9/24 by the supervisor and be told my son s covid results were cancelled due to an unsatisfactory specimen. Why was I not contacted about this? My son is FOUR MONTHS old and extremely sick. This is unacceptable. If he doesn t have covid, I could ve take him into his Pediatrician to be seen, but they won t see him until he gets results back. Now I have to go somewhere and take another test for him to wait another 2-3 days? This is ridiculous and unacceptable on all levels. They have no problem contacting me through texts and calls asking for my review and experience there, why aren t they able to communicate during a pandemic when babies and young children are few of the most vulnerable. I will never take my child back here and would never trust him in their care again.
The admin staff wouldn't allow me to see my son. My son is a frequent visitor to this hospital and while most interactions are positive there was a recent interaction that was not acceptable. My son was admitted through the ER while I was out of town. As soon as I got back in town, two days later, I went to the hospital to see him. The admin staff wanted to scan my driver's license as part of admitting me to go up to my son's room. Since I have been the victim of identity theft in the past, I always instruct the staff to not make a copy of the driver's license, but do allow them to see the license to verify identity. This is typically not an issue in the dozens of times I have went through this process. However, it was a weekend, and the normal admin staff were not on duty. I was told by two different people that if I didn't allow them to make a digital copy of my driver's license that they would not allow me to go see my son. I asked them to call a supervisor and that is when they became rude and condescending, asking me what I had to hide in not allowing them to make a copy of my license. Unfortunately, that day ended with me leaving the hospital without seeing my son. I was treated poorly, like I was trying to hide something, and was ultimately ignored and left sitting in a waiting room supposedly waiting for a supervisor to come speak with me, but one never came. The next day was a Monday, and I went to the hospital and the normal staff were there and they allowed me to just show my ID and was let in to see my son. I spoke with Deanna, an admitting supervisor, about my interactions over the weekend and she asked that I provide her the details in writing and that she would look into it. I told her that I would appreciate an apology from the two individuals that treated me rudely. After a few days, Deanna responded back to me by email letting me know that she had completed her investigation and that the appropriate internal follow-up had been completed and that she considered the matter closed. She stated, "we are sorry we didn't meet your expectations". I think when you prevent someone from seeing their child and treat them rudely in the process, that a formal apology from the offender is not to much to ask for. Even a little more compassionate response from Deanna would have been appropriate. Instead, I get a rote, heartless response. The nurses and doctors at PCH are great. Admin on the other hand is a mixed bag depending on the day of your visit and who you interact with. PCH admin staff can do better and they should!
This hospital is absolutely phenomenal. There is not one bad thing I could possibly have to say about it! My son is (unfortunately) a frequent visitor of the hospital and their satellite locations (including our pediatrician at Phoenix Children's Pediatrics - Dobson Village)!
My interaction with the main hospital began with a referral to a hematologist. My son was 17 months old at the time and had odd bruising issues (bruising in soft tissue areas as well as easy bruising). I was extraordinarily concerned, and quite frankly (as any parent would be), terrified of the referral to the hematologist. When I called to make the appointment, they told me they wouldn't have anything until a month and a half from then because the specialist was so far booked out. I then explained to the receptionist my genuine concern and fear (my husband had only passed away a few months before this of unknown causes, so I was a nervous wreck at this point). She told me that she completely understood and would call me in the event of a cancellation so I could get in sooner. Lo and behold, I got in a week later!
When we met Dr. Knoll, the hematologist, I was instantly set at ease. Both her and her nurse Becky have been phenomenal at handling my anxiety for my son's health and navigating his medical issues. My son's initial blood tests did not show any signs of anything wrong, but Dr. Knoll did not stop at that. She listened to me when I told her something was genuinely wrong, and several blood tests later, my son has a rare blood disorder! Thank God we found it! He now is able to have medication and I can be at ease knowing that he is okay.
I also have had multiple interactions with the ER because my son (as most boys are when they are 2) is reckless and has needed staples/stitches. They are extraordinarily thorough and listened to my concerns and were very gentle with my son. They always talked me through why they made certain decisions concerning his treatment. As with any ER, we have spent multiple hours there during a visit. It's not an urgent care in-and-out situation, but it is thorough care 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
I have nothing but praise for Phoenix Children's Hospital. They have absolutely amazing staff who genuinely care about children and want to see them better. I look forward to continuing to see Dr. Knoll and Nurse Becky for my son's blood disorder. I HIGHLY recommend!
