I can't say I hated it but I strongly, strongly disliked it. I had the crab legs being that we were im ocean city by the water in a seafood restaurant. I was sadly disappointed and heartbroken when they were flavorless and overcooked. I never worked so hard to be saddened but I paid for them so I didn't want to waste them. Celebrating my aunt's milestone birthday(70) and we were all still hungry after made it worse. I might visit ocean city again, just not this place. It was October so it could have been the season but it's no excuse. If you're open for business, always do your best to keep your customer regardless.

Service was a little slow, but it was a busy night, and our server still tried to be as attentive add possible, so I wasn't bothered. Lobster bisque, calamari, and crab legs were absolutely delicious. The crab dip tasted burnt, and the Maine lobster was a bit tough. The sangria wasn't to my taste, but my two friends loved it.
Ok, the seafood buffet selections were darn near endless, however I tried their chicken and waffles... The waffles were hard (very disappointing) and the chicken taste like KFC ... Other then that, the seafood it self was on point!
This was the first time we have eaten here and it was great food and service. There is so much to choose from everything was prepared perfectly well worth the money we will be back.
Seafood smorgasbord! I got the broiled seafood platter. Crab cake, crab imperial, delicious salmon, and some decent shrimp. The shrimp was dry on my platter, but we had an appetizer of the peel and eat, and it was perfectly cooked.
Great selection of food including Crab Imperial, Crab Cakes & Crab legs. Better quality of food than other buffets on the island, IMO. Service could if been little better considering all they really do is bring you drinks & empty your dead soldier pail.
Words cannot describe how amazing this place is, not only is the food delicious and fresh but the service is that noone can compare to. It was so amazing we had to go back and do the dinner buffet. Highly recommend.
Always an Ocean City tradition and go to spot. It is a bit crowded in the buffet area on the one side, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. Get there early because a line does form when it first opens.
Wow cream of crab was great! Lacked crab but all around good taste. Wife loved the crab baskets and stuffed flounder loomed amazing! Cream of crab would have gotten 5 stars for a little more crab meat!
Oh the food and service was so good. We got there at 3:30 and the seared scallops were to die for. We got mudslides, crab imperial and crab dip. Worth every cent, really great waitress and staff - so friendly. My son and my mother spilled a drink and they were on it and very kind about it. They deserve their spectacular reputation.
Great buffet. Fresh seafood, when food low, staff replenish it quickly. The buffet is $40.00. Some would think high, but the crab legs and softshells are great and 2 helpings more than become a bargain. I would not hesitate to go there nightly.
Hostess staff received our walkup reservation and entered our info. They notified us of a 30 minute wait and that a text would be received when our table was ready. 1 hour later, I inquired for the 3rd time about our table. As I was questioning the hostess about getting seated, a customer known to the hostess walked in an inquired about seating. The hostess informed the customer of the 30 minute wait. The customer asked if she couldn't do better to which the hostess called upstairs to another hostess and voila, up she and her quest went! To say that was a bit discouraging was an understatement. So having witnessed this, I inquired about my unseen, favored treatment. The hostess then expressed dismay over our long wait time and what do you know, up we went. The 2nd floor buffet was crowded but only being served on one side. The new arrangement of food took some getting used to but not a problem. The snow crab legs were warm and in supply. The other food items were in abundance. The taste of the grilled crab cakes is not so good. Clearly these are not Phillip's Seafood #1 cakes. The prime rib was tasty, as were the pork ribs. Service staff are always pleasant and do a good job with drinks and other requests. This was not our best experience at Phillip's 21st St. but I'm sure we will return again next year.
The food was delicious. Luckily for our small party we hardly waited. My only complaint is I wish there would have been a little more room when eating... otherwise very good.
Been there a while good had a crab cake special with mashed potatoes and green beans also had an orange crush good experience will be back next summer or fall
The original, first Phillips Crab House. It has an old world charm inside within exotic antiquish, nautical themed decor. Makes for a good backdrop for a meal. Of course the food good.
This was our first time to eat at this restaurant. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and with our server. The buffet is upstairs. It will cost you $37.99 if you miss the early bird discount. The food was delicious. They offer a menu with over 100 items to choose from. The service was also fantastic. Our server was polite and quick to respond to any our the questions we had asked her.
Overall, this restaurant is a little pricey, but well worth the little extra money spent.
Every where I have gone to eat sea food they had space between the different foods, like a dessert separate from the seafood separate from the salad separate from the other foods. So you didn't have to wait in line for sea food or which other food. Cute sewing machine legs and great tasting food. We will be back if we come back to Ocean City.
All of the food was impeccable and the service was spot on. I highly recommend the crab legs and the pasta bar in the buffet. It was slightly pricey but definitely worth it.
One of the great restaurants in Ocean City Maryland. I've been going there for probably 50 years. Wide variety of seafood with crabs being it's biggest request. It has one of the best atmospheres of any restaurants I've been to with carousel horses.
Absolutely fantastic, highly recommend. I'm not a diehard seafood person (clams, mussels, etc) but everything else here was delicious (shrimp, chicken wings, crab cakes)!!!
Like the old restaurant. Buffet was good but pricey. I even tried desserts. The brownies are awful. Not up to par at all. I'm a brownie connoisseur. Seafood was good but not excellent. Next time I'll go with a standard dining menu. Wait staff were right up there. Fun place to go.
Great place for seafood. There is a large selection of food including non seafood items. The staff is friendly. I've never had a bad experience, we go at least once a year when we are in Ocean city. I took away one star because they no longer have the fried oysters, lol. The imperial crab is amazing, definitely a recommended item
Food was best seafood we had on vacation. Pro tip. Do sit down menu, not buffet You can eat right away (skip right past that insane line) and the food is better.
Crab legs were a lil small this time, but... all of the seafood and everything else was on point! Walked away feeling super full and satisfied for sure!
A vacation at the beach isn't complete without a stop at Phillips Crab House buffet in Ocean City. They usually have a fun "bucket of beers" special to help you wash down unlimited crab legs, hush puppies and crab cakes! They raw bar is better at this location than the one that is now closed. Overall this location is a classic, with a much deserved reputation for great seafood!
I have been coming here since I was a kid and now I'm in my 50s. Haven't been back for 5 years or so. Very dissatisfied with the limited and overpriced menu. Just lost a long time customer.
My husband and I love seafood. We ate here last night, Thursday 7/09/15 and it was the worst seafood buffet we have ever eaten. The snow crab legs were soft shelled and hard to crack, the steamed shrimp were chewy, the fried shrimp tasted like a French fry with no shrimp flavor. As a local, I would not recommend this buffet, not worth your money!!!
Food is always delicious here. The crab cakes are my favorite. The food here is too die for. I would definitely recommend eating here if you love seafood.
Incedible buffet, food was excellent. Long lines and rather expensive but there is an earlybird special so it's not so bad if you don't mind eating in the middle of the afternoon.
Worse meal while on vacation, way over priced for food, tasted like Ms Paul's straight from the box...waitress never refilled water or came back when we asked for more drinks...
We have been going to Phillips for many decades. It is a sentimental journey at this point. Not as good as it used to be, but good food and nice decorations.
