I got the mazza platter, which includes hummus, babaganoush, taboulleh, lebne (Turkish yogurt), grape leaves, falafels, tomato & onion salad, and pita bread. I think that was everything.

It was all good. My faves were the hummus, the lebne, and the tabouleh. They have a fried cauliflower and fried eggplant sandwich that I'm going to order next time.

The folks there are nice. I talked some with a fellow from Jordan, who I assume is the owner. Petra is a famous historical site in his native country.

After eating what I could and bagging up the rest, I did some shopping in their small grocery section. They have some nice chocolates, deserts, figs, nuts, etc.

I definitely recommend Petra.

The people were really kind and conversational and treated us well; we asked what we should get and we ended up with most of the menu on our table! We ate absolutely all of it! Everything was phenomenal (especially the chicken shawarma) and it was a memorable experience. It s not a fancy place, but the food is super authentic and delicious, and I am always excited to go back! I totally recommend it!

Best baba ghanouj we've ever had! Decided to try the Petra Mixed Platter and it did not disappoint! Also tried the Gyro and Lamb Shawarma sandwich combos. Lamb was our favorite of the two but both delicious. Fries were crispy and loved the sumac on them. We also bought some sumac for home along with Jordan Almonds and Turkish Delight. Service was exemplary and friendly. Enjoyed free baklava too! We will be back!

Great spot on Brambleton, stopped here on a business trip to the area. Perfect for a quick lunch stop and a much better choice than the fast food chains nearby. Skip those, eat at Petra. Definitely will be back.

We just had another excellent meal at Petra. This is our fourth visit, three for eat-in and one take-out. It's our new go-to in the greater Roanoke area for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern. The food has been consistently fresh, authentic, and probably 95% prepared and made on-the-spot by the chef/owner. You'd be cheating yourself if you don't have a Baba ghanoush or hummus appetizer. You can watch either of them being made and they are both out of this world. So fresh! Served with freshly heated pita and sprinkled with spices and parsley. We've tried both veg and non-veg dishes and all are recommended. Bonus: they have a small two-aisle selection of middle-eastern groceries and spices. Along with imported fruit drinks and sodas. Go! Eat!

We eat here regularly and have had them cater a party and we're always delighted. My wife is vegetarian and loves the appetizers and I've had the kebabs and they're always good. Mike is always so kind and often throws in extras which makes us feel very special. The soup is also excellent. There are no stairs anywhere and the bathroom is large enough to be pretty accessible for a rolling Walker or wheelchair though not officially accessible.

The only place in Roanoke that you will find good Middle Eastern food. If you havent tried Middle Eastern food, keep this in mind, the US has been refining their food and flavors for 300 years. The Middle East has been doing it for thousands of years. Treat yourself to a flavor vacation!

The chicken kabobs were incredible. Perfect seasoned with a compliment of rice and vegetables. Served with a salad that was fresh and very flavorful, but also a perfect portion size. But seriously, get the hummus plate too.

Found this sweet little restaurant quite by accident. Honestly wasn't sure what to expect when we first went in. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was super fast and very friendly. If you love good Mediterranean food, you will be very happy here! We can't wait to go back.

I got take out from here last week which was good, so my wife suggested to go the the restaurant and eat there, hence We visited Petra on Memorial Day evening. Ordered Falafal, chicken kabobs and chicken shawarma. First I received Falafal, they were hot and crispy. Second we received chicken shawarma, which looked good. We completed Falafal and then started Shawarma meal, where chips were cold. Shawarma in first bite tasted burned so I unwraped it and the wrap was burnt from outside was was eatable. I had ordered two and first we completed meanwhile we received order of chicken kabobs over bed of rice. The chicken was dry from our side and center chicken from screwed was raw from inside. It felt like was cooled long time back and then regrilled. We started eating second wrap which was unadable. Tasted too burned, I opened the silver foil front the wrap and the tortia / pitta was burnt from outside. I stood up and told the guy over the counter, he said the grill is f***ing hot which made it burnt. He started making new wraps as replacement. I suggested him to scrap the grill to remove burnt residue stick to grill. He defended himself stating the grill is clean, it s only hot and he does not have enough labour to work today. I went back to my table and try to complet remaining rice with kabob and fries from shawarma. I found a rice with tiny hair on it. At the same time, my wife found a hair on the plate of fries. That was not acceptable, I complained him right away and he didn t had any answers. He gave us replacement wrap, which had burnt chicken inside with black residue from the grill. He scraped the grill with chicken and put it in the wrap. I do not recommend this place. Check In if the cook is there and owner is away.

Probably done of the best middle Eastern food in Roanoke. I could eat my birth weight in the chicken shwarma hummus. Otherwise, food is on point. A staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable. One of my faves.

Somewhat of a strange mix of grocery store and counter-order restaurant, the food is very good. I have been here about 10 times (it's probably the closest restaurant to my house) and never had a bad meal. I like the beef or chicken shwarma sandwich combo. If you order a platter, make sure you're hungry.

As for meze, labneh is one of my favorites and is very good here. So is tabouleh salad and hummus.

My only complaint is the pita bread which is a bit too fluffy and not served in sufficient quantity if you are enjoying several meze. However, they will bring more on request.

Very nice for South Roanoke County to have this restaurant!

I have seen a hair in my plate. In addition, the chicken was not cooked well and I called the lady. She took it and returned it back and it was still not cooked well. I talked to the lady and she never seemed appreciative to my comments. They were supposed to apologize and make sure to leave the customer feedback. The lady mentioned that I was not supposed to talk to her in such a way, which is totally not appreciated.

In fact, there were not honest about being authentic food.

It was a horrible experience and terrible customer service service and I am never coming back.

Really fantastic, made with love food. Everything I have eaten has been phenomenal. Best Samosas ever. Even when I've had takeout, it's presentation was excellent, and was made with the same amount of love.

It was very mediocre. I expected much better from a recently opened Greek restaurant. The rice alone was bland and lacked basic seasoning. Everything else we got was similar and included canned cooked vegetables. I might try it again later after they have been around a while, but this was very disappointing as a first impression.

Spotted this place from the road a week or two ago and decided to check it out this evening. Friendly service, excellent food from quality ingredients. Nice selection of cultural grocery items, the best Middle Eastern food in the valley, and a welcoming place that I'll be glad to continue to visit. One of my top 5 restaurants in Roanoke.
