Peterson Medical helps our long term care residents and short term care residents get the proper equipment they need to improve their quality of life. Peterson medical is fast, efficient and provides quality care to our residents and patients. We are so grateful for the care and products that they provide.

This company is very difficult to work with. Calling in to get the correct assistance requires speaking with 2-3 people and making an appointment. They always tell me my prescription for CPap is expired if I want to change the mask. When they agree on what I need, they say it has to be mailed and that takes about 10 days to arrive. As soon as my 5 years are finished for this machine I will be changing to Intermountain which handles things MUCH more quickly and easily. Even my doctor is irritated with Peterson s.

Rented a wheelchair for my son following his ACL surgery. We were able to rent it for four weeks for $35, and they were kind enough to delivery to our home ... with other kiddos to take care of that extra step just meant the world. Thank you!

My insurance pays 100% for a breast pump. Petersen Medical told me that my insurance company would only cover a minimum. My insurance reassured me they covered 100% and all Petersen had to do was call in for a confirmation code. No one would listen or call my insurance company for verification or the confirmation code. My husband finally had go their in person to have a three way call for them to listen so they could be assured of 100% payment by insurance for the pump.
I also had the same problem with Alpine Home Medical.
Stick to your guns if your insurance will pay for it, have the medical supply company contact your insurance co with you.

I too, wish I could give them 0. My CPAP mask seal ripped last night, and we have been trying to get through since early morning and get nothing but voicemail, and nothing returned.

As I start my review, I hear someone in my family FINALLY got through (15 minutes before they close) but finds out she's in Orem not the location needed.

Appointment for tomorrow, I guess I have to just cross my fingers that don't choke to death in my sleep with my 37+ events per hour, because this place sucks at answering and returning a call. Not a good quality for medical supplier.

Also seeing other reviews about poor information provided. Yep! We were told something would be ~$20 and it ended up more like $150. Very poorly informed here too.

If you find that your crappy insurance like mine forces you here, do anything you can to go elsewhere.

Bad overall experience. Like pulling teeth to get details of how my medical plan will work to cover the cost of the CPAP machine. Many phone calls before the appointment just to try to figure out what is what. THEN they got me in there for the CPAP. No sleep therapy going here, just sales. After a month and I am hating the unit they say I can cancel, I just need to get the doctor s blessing to cancel the prescription. Oh, but that takes a formal Dr appointment which costs even more. THEN Petersen bills me another $150 (AFTER the initial payment I made up front)! Be sure to get all the facts from these slippery scoundrels BEFORE you buy.

The people at Petersen we re extremely helpful and did everything to ensure that I both understood my ASV equipment and knew how to fit it and clean it properly. (This was NOT the case at my prior equipment provider). The automated supply reminders are great as are the reminders of when I need to see my doctor to ensure my insurance would always cover my supplies. Overall an excellent experience.

Absolutely horrific, stay away. My dad is stuck in the hospital because they never delivered a wheelchair for him to go home with, waited all afternoon. Answering service is ignorant and said they 'dont have an on call number for that'. A driver was paged, and while he was nice, he said he knew nothing. What a tragedy for an 89 year old man to be stuck because Peterson Medical committed to delivering a wheelchair and then all went home for the weekend and said not our problem. STAY AWAY!!!

Would give 0 stars if I could....Don't go to this place ever. They give me the incomplete information about renting the oxygen tank. When I rented those tanks they took the payment and told me that I am good. If I will come again to refill then I have to pay $10 for that. Today I received an invoice. I called the billing department and they told me there is $141 due amount on my account. There was a monthly charge for the regulator too which I didn't know. Nobody told me about that. So make sure that you ask each and everything or go somewhere else. This is so frustrating. They waived some of my money but still I had to pay. Never going back to Peterson Medical

Fantastic service with great attention and care. The young lady that assisted me took the time to answer questions and appears genuinely interested in my well being. I felt comfortable asking questions and making sure I had the right equipment for my needs. I highly recommend them!

Received an automated phone call to receive replacement CPAP supplies back in December. I haven't yet received anything. Sent an email a week ago, but no response. Seemed to be okay in October, but service is very poor now. Did they close? Wish someone would response back.

Went through quite the process to get my mother her walker. Unfortunately we discovered that Medicare is even more finicky than we knew and it took a couple of weeks to finally get her doctor to get them the right information. Thankfully Petersens helped me bug Dr. Staheli's office until we finally got what we needed. Mom is now sitting pretty in her new ride ... thank you so much for the help!!

If zero stars were an option I'd give it. I tried to take back an ear thermometer that did not work. Not buyer's remorse, the thing did not work, it would measure temp off by like 20 degrees. I didn't have my receipt, but the package still had the Petersen Medical sticker on it with the price. I was also able to verify the purchase through my credit card statement. The refund policy is no refunds after 30 days, which I wasn't requesting a refund I was requesting a store credit. The gentleman still refused to issue a store credit and blamed it on their "system". I was told their "system" doesn't allow exchanges or store credit and that I'd have to contact the manufacturer. Easily the world's worst customer service I've had in a long time.

I'd highly recommend you shop somewhere else and avoid the return policy and system from 1992.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN!!!! Our insurance forced us to do business here......60 miles away from our home. Took in a CPAP to be serviced. Received a phone call a few days later saying that it would cost $800 to repair. It was 7 years old but it was used as a back up at our cabin so we didn't have to move the newer CPAP to the mtn. and back. We told them we would come pick it up.....long story short, my husband opened it up, did a little cleaning and it's now working. All they wanted to do was sell us a new one. Very poor service every time we've had to deal with them. I think they just looked at their records and didn't even open it
up.....saw us as an easy sale. Very poor service every time we've had to deal with them. (Funny thing is our insurance doesn't do business with them anymore, thank goodness.)

There are some on the staff that are very helpful and then the others ruin it which means customer service is non-existent when there isn't consistent customer service. I had a CPAP that broke that I rely heavily on to sleep. After multiple phone calls and getting doctors appointments to get a new one that I was told was covered which wasn't, I'm out of pocket over $300 for a repair that didn't work and now have no device for 3 or more nights of no sleep. I called as soon as they opened on Friday but the office is cleared out and no one can help. I'm without a working device and it's the weekend and they nonchalantly say there's nothing they can do to help so I'll have more nights of headaches and potentially life threatening results from lack of sleep. Avoid working with this company to lessen the stress in life!

Update - I did get a call back from Heather who said that someone is supposed to be bringing me a loaner unit. I very much appreciate the phone call and attempt to rectify this experience. I'm hoping the working CPAP arrives soon...

...The CPAP arrived and I'm pleased they made the effort to help me. That means a lot and makes me want to work with them if things can improve and they get my machine working.

They were great to work with for my daughter who was newly diagnosed with sleep apnea. They billed the insurance and got me supplies every 3 months. When we needed a new CPAP for my husband, ordered by our doctor, they wanted a copy of his sleep study. We had one done about 4 years previous and I dug it up and brought it in. Unfortunately it was a follow up study to check the levels in the machine and to ensure he was getting what he needed to sleep well. They wanted his original sleep study that very first diagnosed him with sleep apnea. This was a decade ago. It took two weeks, but I tracked down the study from the facility where it was done. I brought this in, but again they would not accept it because the doctor had not signed it!. They insisted he needed to sign it. So I checked. He was retired! They suggested I take the sleep study to another doctor and pay them to read it and sign that he indeed was diagnosed with sleep apnea. He has been on a CPAP for 10 years with two different follow up sleep studies to ensure he was on the right settings. They said our insurance would not cover his supplies unless they had the original study. After a month of run around, I went to another company and had his supplies same day and yes, the insurance did cover it.

The customer service and communication at this organization is non-existent. While trying to get a CPAP machine I received phone messages from 2 employees at Petersen s, I returned both phone calls and left multiple messages on their answering machine and with receptionist with no response. After a month of nothing I had my doctor s office contact them again, and after over 1 month of waiting I was finally able to schedule an appointment for a CPAP fitting. I then went to their office location only to be told that my pre-authorization had expired, which they could have told me over the phone as opposed to having me drive into their office. My experience with them left me feeling that they don t value customer s or their customer s time.

The staff at this store were to say it nicely unhelpful. They refused to help my wheelchair bound mother because she didn't have an apt. An appointment to get a new cpap mask who knew so instead they walked away and ignored us. Tell I loudly asked for a manager I would go anywhere else before I go back there

I have a CPAP through Petersen Medical. Had it for maybe two years. Every three months, I should be getting new supplies. I'll get automated calls almost every three months, but it takes a month or more, (sometimes two, or even getting the automated call AGAIN) before supplies come. Billing never sends bills. When I do talk to people, they are at least polite, and I can tell they're trying, but something is falling through the cracks, and I have to chase them down more often than not.

Medical issues are already a pain for people dealing with chronic conditions, so to have to be as on top of it as I am, it gets overwhelming.

My father has an older Adaptive Servo Ventilator that was going into alarm mode and keeping my dear mother awake. It had become a serious problem when my Mother became very ill also and could do nothing about it in the night. My father's sleep doctor said that the alarm on the ASV could be turned off. We did not know how to shut off the alarm and asked Petersen Medical in Orem to help us. They sent out Chris B. who was able to get it shut off. He returned again the next morning to follow up on his call of the previous afternoon. We can't begin to describe how much we appreciate that help. It was huge to get someone who would endeavor to help us and be capable to do it. Our family is saying thank you Chris B. and Petersen Medical from the bottom of our hearts. It is going to be such a help to let my very ill mother sleep.

Horrible service. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Their employees are untrained and mess up absolutely everything. Spent HOURS in the business trying to order some compression socks, PAID in cash. It's been 20 days and still haven't gotten them. I received a call saying they messed up the order, NO APOLOGIES. Asked for a refund and they have to "request" it which will take another 2 weeks. They are so incompetent. Save time and money, GO ELSEWHERE.

I am recovering from a broken hip and broke one of the wheels on my walker. I need it. I took it in first thing in the morning to Petersen Medical and was told the repair men were all out but they would contact me later in the day. They did not. I went over the next morning and spoke to their representative Emily.and was told that she had no idea when it might be fixed, She seemed confused. They had to order the part and the companies they deal with are not not dependable and it could be 3 weeks or longer before they had the part and then it might take time to install it. Frustrated, I brought the walker home and got on the internet and found many sources for a wheel. I have one ordered and when it comes I will have my son install it. No service charge. I need a new power recliner but WILL NOT be purchasing it from Petersen's. Lesson learned. I wish I didn't need to give them any stars but did give them one.

They are Not reliable. We have been waiting for a while chair for now 3 months and still not received it. Because they have been sooo slow at processing papers. No updates on the wheel chair I have to continually be calling them, bad customer service and very disorganized. I had to call to get them moving. I Would not recommend this store.

I wish I could leave zero stars but that isn't an option. I went here to get a breast pump for my wife. The process was easy enough and it didn't take long so that was good but I we just got new insurance and so I wasn't sure what we would be paying to get the pump. We assumed it would be covered but unfortunately we had a co-insurance so we were responsible for 50%. We didn't super need the pump as we had an old one from baby #1 but my wife wanted a stronger pump and since this one was new she thought it would be.

Unfortunately I didn't want to pay the Co insurance But figured I'd take it home and see what my wife thought. The ONLY reason I left the store with the pump was because the front desk person told me word for word "you can return the pump as long as you haven't opened it." Boom. Perfect I'll take it home talk to my wife see what she wants to do and then bring it back if she doesn't want it.

In the end we brought it back but Peterson Medical won't take it back because and I quote "we could have opened it up and then just put the sticker back on." Seriously?? Not only were they refusing to take back a clearly unused un-opened box, the receptionist was a total SNOB and wasn't even trying to act like she cared.

So kudos to Peterson Medical for ripping off my insurance and myself and shame on me for taking the word of an employee who misinformed me on the return policy.

Go somewhere else to get your medical equipment!

Would give 0 stars if i could. The absolute worst customer service. Billing is a NIGHTMARE, pay the bill, next day or two, get another one in the mail. The nickle and dime you to death. Just today got a bill from 8/16/17 yeah, almost a year later saying that they just heard back from Insurance company, BS paid the next bill on 11/17, no mention of the previous bill, showed a zero balance. If you need anything find a different vendor. They are horrible

I have come here for over 8 years to refill oxygen tanks that are marked Petersen Medical on the tanks to be used by EMT'S. Today they will not take our business any longer. Receptionist could not even get a supervisor to talk to when one was requested. I believe that I have had no problems refilling tanks until today. I hope no one needs oxygen due to Petersen Medical not wanting business.

Since writing this review they have contacted my company's head EMT wanting this review removed. They have not contacted me and still don't want to refill or exchange the oxygen tanks

I have been very impressed with Peterson Medical and especially with Chris, who has been great at getting my CPAP pressure correct. He is very responsive to my questions and I feel he has my best interest at heart. Thank you Chris for always taking the time to explain things to me!

My ordeal started an the beginning of February when I need to fill my prescription for a nebulizer.

I brought my prescription in and filled out some paperwork and was told by the girl at the front desk that my insurance would require prior auth and that they would handle this and get back to me when it was ready for delivery.

about 2 or 3 weeks later I got a call from my PCP's office that I needed to come in to the office to sign a release of medical information so that they could send my clinical notes to Petersen Medical... (weird that this request was happening way after the fact...) I signed the release a few days later and my doctor's office told me they would send those in right away. The MA also disclosed to me that they would be refaxing my prescription as well, since Petersen Medical lost it -_______-

a week later when I still hadn't heard anything back I called Petersen Medical to check the status on things and the guy on the phone said that they were still waiting on the clinical notes from my doctor's office -___-
I let him know that I had been in contact with my PCP and they had already faxed my notes days ago. He then put me on hold to talk to someone that had been working on my prescription and after being on hold he came back and said that they were unavailable and would call me back.

GUESS WHO NEVER CALLED.

so again here I was calling them to see what was going on and this time a girl I talked to claimed that the doctor's office was saying I was not a patient of theirs, so she asks me, " You were seen in Payson right?"

UMM NO I WAS NOT I WAS SEEN IN PROVO.
HOW WAS SHE EVEN CALLING THE WRONG OFFICE??

SO... I give her my doctor's office number and finally the next day she calls me to tell me...

THAT MY INSURANCE WAS OUT-OF-NETWORK...

nice.

I wish there was a way to give negative stars on here.

We stopped in to the new "store" in Orem to find a new wheelchair for my mother. We did show up a half hour before closing, so it figures the desk clerk was not happy to see us. They have nothing to look at and having been in their previous store before, their attitude has not change. We won't go into any Petersen Medical again. We were able to find a wheelchair and have a pleasant experience at another store in Orem, the same evening.

I needed to pick up a nebulizer after getting out of my doctors office at 4:45 today, I called and told Peterson s medical supply store that I was on my way, but that I wouldn t arrive there until 5 minutes after they closed at 5. Their reply was, Unfortunately our doors close at exactly 5:00. My daughter won t be getting her breathing treatments tonight, That she really needs, all because of 5 minutes. Worst service ever.

For a so-called medical company, they don't take the spread of Covid seriously. Yesterday was the single highest new case count, but the front desk doesn't care. No masks for them; no worries if they infect someone.

Worst billing ever, we had apparently met the requirements of CPAP (rent for so many months and then its yours) with insurance paying out as well. Our insurance told them to stop billing us on more than one occasion. Then they switched the billing for the machine to a purchase and once again have sent us another bill. The billing never stops with them it seems.

The recording messages in the past were also annoying.

As with others, I have had nothing but issues with their lack of customer service. When you are supposed to receive replacement supplies every 3 or 6 months, depending on what is needed and insurance coverage, they never contact you to make sure you get those. If you don t follow up. Forget about it! And even then, it takes multiple calls on your part to get action. As other have said, they never apologize. But rather make excuses. I know that this industry is supposed to work more cohesively than this. Why? Because the old company I used would auto refill my supplies. And contact me like clockwork. They just happened to leave the industry. And go into another direction. So Petersen became the new company for me. Now, nearly 1 YEAR after I should have had auto refills, Petersen has robo calls and emails telling me I may be eligible for replacement supplies. YOU THINK!!! They should have been refilled by you guys like 3 or 4 times already. Never mind the constant billing issues. Where I receive bills for the full amount. When they have had my insurance info since day one. This company is as incompetent as I have ever seen. I honestly don t know how they stay in business. If I could give them a negative 5 for their lackluster, lazy, terrible lack of service from the women who work here, I would!

First experience they over charged me for my cpap....

First experience they over charged me for my cpap. I had to wait months before getting the refund. The billing department is incompetent. The amount of misinformation I got about how id get replacement equipment was unbelievable. My contact at Peterson medical was no longer with them and I didn't know so I continued to try to get a hold of her until she finally told me.

I end up with a mask that has ripped from wear and tear after a week. Got a replacement. This one maybe 6 months in rips and I have to order a replacement. The person I need to talk to is off when I call. Little shocking that those who use these medically don't have quick, fast, and accurate service. I have to drive far to pick up a new one.

I pay my coinsurance on the mask within 2 weeks yet... every month for the last 3 I keep getting a bill. After 3 months I call and tell them I payed it already. I am told, "oh sorry it was a clerical error ". Once again billing department is incompetent.
