The best place in the city for chilis, tortillas, salsas, and Topo Chico!
It's fine but I felt a little uncomfortable since since you enter the store it seems that they are watching that you don't steal something.
Nice variety of Mexican products that are impossible to find elsewhere. Friendly service
A great place to find Mexican and Latin American foods and ingredients. Perola's is my go-to spot for Mexican peppers, chillies, and tomatillos, which can be tough to find at other stores. The staff was friendly and happily answered my questions.
Great place, I always get my tortillas from here (they have many varieties). They also have a good selection of dried beans, chilis, and Mexican cheeses. Very friendly and helpful staff, they always say hi and ask if you need help.
Love the staff! Always so so helpful and I just love learning from them about the products I've never seen!
All products are way overpriced! This place has been catering to the Hispanic community for years with no major competitors. You can find a good variety of products though, but the ratio attention/price/quality is just not there. Their produce is also over ripen and sold anyway.
Good place to shop Latin amaerican products a bit pricey but is very convenient that is located at Kensington Market, compared to others that all way out of downtown.
I don't know where else downtown Toronto you can get dried chili pods other than here. Very friendly employees. So much variety. They will have everything you need for your Latin cooking needs
Good selection of Mexican and other Latin American foods.
If you miss Mexico, this is the place! Like a Mexican convenience store, you can find a lot of Mexican products like tortillas, salsa and other products, great selection of products. It's a little pricey but it worth it
I get all the special ingredients I need here too make delicious recipes from Mexico
Has hard to find in toronto:
corn tortillas, queso fresco, anchos, chipotles, etc.
This place was recommended to me by a chef. It is a great secret weapon when you need certain foods. Lots of dried peppers and specialty produce like tomatillos, Poblano peppers, Serano chilies. The staff there are very friendly, and will help you out, if you are looking for certain items. It s always worth a trip to Kensington market, regardless, but stop in here for sure.
I had not gone for a long time due to lack of time, but I always remembered the kindness of the people who attended me, I went a few days ago and they continue to give excellent customer service the same or better !!, the only Hispanic business that I recommend going because everyone the others have terrible attention, congratulations keep it up !!
Wasn't in here for long, mentioned I was making a paella and BOOM without hesitation had everything for it!
I'm sure I was up sold but felt more than comfortable being out of my element! Such nice staff! 11/10
Good store, a lot of Latin food and other stuff nice located near to Spadina street car
Went into this shop to find my favourite hot sauce which is hard to find in Toronto, they not only had it, they also had other sizes! The prices here are fantastic and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
So disappointed. I understand the prices are high. You should pay extra attention to the expiration date. I purchased a jar of dulce de leche that later I would realize was expired. The expiration date was faint, looking as though it had been deliberately erased to hide the fact that it had expired the day before.
Great place with Latin products! Everyone is helpful and friendly!
A friendly smile & great selection define Perola's for me. I'll stop in for a bottle of hot sauce, or a bag of corn tortillas.
Excellent place to try out Mexican street snacks the have a good variety of products and they taste good. I little pricey but maybe once in a while is not that bad is not something you eat all the time.
Wish they had tables and chair to eat in there as they are take out only.
Way too pricey, not lots of options and a bit disorganized. I've been to better Latin markets.
Excellent place! Takes some digging to find what you're looking for, but the people working are happy to help.
Great latin grocery. Lots of hard to find ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Buenas cosas de S America. Good things from S America
There aren't a lot of Latin markets in Toronto, so at least there's that... But after all their years in business, they could clean the dust off some of their stock. The produce, what little they bring in fresh, is hit or miss.
Great variety of products, spices, canned food, chicharron, cheese etc. All you need to make a Mexican happy or to make great food at home. Friendly staff.
The first Latin American market in Toronto, a well known tradition. Great service, great products! Felt like home!
The owners are very kind and helpful, they carry a good range of classic Latino (mostly Mexican) products.
Nice boss and they best latin american products Thank you
Good store with a variety of Mexican and Latin products. Friendly staff.
Terrific old world ambience and they have got the hard to find (in Toronto) South American products I want (Bustelo coffee, Piquillo peppers for stuffing). Great place !
Not a big store, but they have all the ingrediants for a good Mexican recipe that are missing at Sobey and Loblaw
very high prices look around and change the value of the products
Best place for Latin American groceries in the area!
If you need latinamerican groceries and you are close to Chinatown this is a good place to go. they do have a lot of things
Excellent place to find Venezuelan products! from flour bread to white cheese !!
A wonderful place to buy many of the Goya brand name products essential to many Spanish and Latin American dishes. The folks working here are very friendly and appreciate your business. The pricing is excellent too. A true fixture in Kensington Market, these people have been here for ages and ages. A small store packed with all kinds of goodies, you must check it out. If you like to cook you should check out this store.
Nice owners and good selection but prices way too high
I love this store, they always have what I am looking for and in good quality. The service is very good they are friendly and respectful
They have a lot of Latin American stuff!! It made me feel I am not that far!!!
If you are latino you will love this places example Malta, harina pan, cocossete and more.
Probably the best Latin (Mexican) supermarket in Toronto.
A small store, friendly staff. Great option to shop in this area.
Fresh Spices&quality produce at very reasonable prices.
Excellent customer service.
Great garden items(plants and herbs) for home and kitchen.
The only place I know of to get all the dried Chili's you need to make all sorts of Mexican things. If you can't find your Mexican ingredients here then forget about the recipe..... Kensington market itself leaves a lot to desire.
Best place in the city to get hard to find Mexican and Central American ingredients. They are super helpful if you don t know exactly what you re looking for or where in the store it is, and happily put up with you practicing your Spanish.
You can find food from so many places of southamerica, love it
