First-rate, community-shared agriculture operation...

First-rate, community-shared agriculture operation. Organically and sustainably-grown food, but in the interest of minimizing cost, PPF doesn't pay to be certified. Members buy shares at start of season, then enjoy weekly pickups. Quality of produce is superb; items often were harvested the very day you receive them. Prices--not cheap--are fair for what you receive.

My wife & I have been summer/winter members of PFEC for several years. As health-conscious environmentalists, we give it one star for the great food it provides, one star for the environmental damage it avoids, one star for the kind & generous people we meet, one star for the efforts to educate young & old, & one star for helping to fight hunger through food donations. On top of that, we get to commune with the birds & bees while picking veggies, fruit & flowers. Try it. You'll like it. Dr. John :-)

Been a member of Pennypack for about 10 years now, year round. I get amazing food, organic, nutritious, and locally grown, and it's a great value to boot. The people are wonderful. It's just become a part of my family's life. Highly recommend to anyone who cares about their food and their health.

My wife Denny and I have been members of Pennypack...

My wife Denny and I have been members of Pennypack farm for at least a decade and love it. Once we got used to a wide variety of totally fresh and organic veggies, it was hard to do without. The farm is like an extension of our family. Unlike a lot of CSAs which select for you, at Pennypack you get to pick your share from many more selections of greens and roots in bins. And then there are the you-picks - eg: strawberries, cherry tomatoes, string beans - great fun for the kids.

We've been members for 5 years and absolutely love it. We get a mini share, which is just perfect for my husband and I. The selection of vegetables is amazing - I love being able to pick which ones I want every week, and there's always something new to try in addition to all the staples I need. There's opportunities to go pick veggies or fruits from the field - doesn't get fresher than that! This is a great non-profit organization to support.

I am a workshare member, so am not without bias. This is a fabulous CSA. It is a non-profit with great organic produce. There is a children's educational garden. There are various classes for adults. Last year 5300 pounds of food were donated to local food banks.

Update: In 2018, over 10,000 pounds of food donated
