We were a group of 20 people and we recently visited Pench Jungle Camp for the Holi long weekend in March 2021. I am so overwhelmed with their service, and trust me, it is not easy to please me. One can guess by my 4 star rating while I really do not have anything reasonable to deduct one star for these guys.
The Rooms:
I stayed at the Safari Tent (the highest category) and in their base category room as well. Of course, there is a huge difference between the two and if one can afford, they must stay at the tent at least once. They are spacious, have a spectacular view, a patio overlooking a water body where you can see animals. You also get a private area outside the tent, it is like your little park where you would notice beautiful birds. Please note, none of their rooms have a TV, which I think is very good as it gives you more time outside with the nature rather than being indoors watching a screen that you do at home anyway.
The Food:
Well, they have a great spread in their buffets. Right from Indian to Continental. These people take really good care of you when it comes to food. Let it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.. they will ensure you are stuffed and enjoy your food. The staff is really sweet to check upon your taste and even customize the dishes accordingly for you. You can do the same with your packed breakfast for morning safaris. I think, if I really have to nitpick here, I think I deducted 1 star for their Chinese food. They can make it better. They also have live pasta stations. Right from veg to non veg, the food will not disappoint you at all.
The Service:
Well, this is the most overwhelming part. They have over 30 rooms and the place was fully booked. Due to covid, the hotel was understaffed and yet, I did not find any issues with their flawless service. Imagine, they only had 8 people in the housekeeping department, yet my room was cleaned on time, my room service was quick, the club area and the entire property was so well managed.
The Property:
Well, it is a delight for those who love nature and animals. The property is beautiful and you would see 5 friendly German Shepherds Who'd be happy to play fetch with you. 4-5 Guinea Fowls.. Langurs and if you explore the property well, you'd see some chickens as well.
They have a huge eco park right opposite to their property where you can take a walk early morning with PJC naturalist and do some bird watching, or simply just cycle around the property enjoying the nature. The club house has some fun activities as well. If you are not doing safaris and watching TV in your room, this property has a lot to offer to keep your vacation fun filled and busy :)
Lastly, I would like to thank the manager, Mr Rajnish who took really good care of us and ensured top notch service. The kitchen staff for the sumptuous food and the house keeping for working with great efficiency.
