I loved this. I had no idea there was such a gem in Brampton. Definitely a really great place to both adults and kids, as there are a lot of. activities and spaces dedicated to them. It's also very educational and promotes togetherness and diversity. For adults, there's the art gallery and a room where you can look up old records related to the city. I would definitely come again.

One of the greatest hidden gems of Peel Region. Although the jail is really neat, there is actually very little of it to explore and see (3 cells total). I feel that this jailhouse is so small that it should have all been kept originally intact, and not mostly converted into archives and a very small museum on the second floor. That could have been done in any building in Peel Region, why convert a timeless piece of Ontario's history into a mostly modern museum showcase? It would have been nice to see all of the inner jail inside in its entirety. Instead there is barely anything left inside for people to see. Also, the courthouse is not regularly open to the public. I was lucky enough to see it with a tour guide but I was informed it's not always open which is a shame since it is very beautiful and fits in with the jailhouse tour. The art gallery is nice but very small. At least it's all included in one admission price.
The exhibition hall is small and there are not many exhibits. The site was formerly a prison. Look at the prison barn fetters more than 100 years ago. There are also some history, geology, manufacturing, etc. of the Peel Region. Staff is nice
I always enjoy my time there with the kids. The prices are perfect and activities are fun and easy for you to get into as an adult with the kids. The Art activity was creating your own quilt patch. They were codes/directions for slaves using the underground railroad- we all made our own and coloured them. We went for the black history month exhibit, the photo gallery was really amazing and the stories with the photos were moving. We visited on Saturday, had we gone on Sunday we would have been able to gain free entry, free refreshments and enjoyed guest speakers...my girlfriend got the days confused, nonetheless it was a day well spent.
We went during the Christmas/winter break to participate in one of their children's activities (clay rose) and we learned about a bit of history and made a craft too. Activity was included with admission. We spent about a couple hours exploring the place included the old jail from the late 1800s. There is also interactive areas specifically for kids to learn as well as explore and play.We will likely be going back for other activities throughout the year. For the price of a family membership, you can keep going all the time for activities.
Great family outing spot, lots to learn about brampton and peels history, very interactive and educational, art room was fun for the kids and seeing the old jail was exciting for them. I recommend this for everyone who lives in brampton.
A small but really interesting gem in Brampton. Spent a lot of time exploring and learned a lot. Admission fee really reasonable! Will definitely return when the exhibit changes. Welcoming to all and friendly guides.
Located in an old jail house and courtroom. Lots of Brampton history with various exhibits including a section to learn the history of the Natives in Brampton and how the city developed into what it is today. There is also a play area and classrooms for kids.
Wasn't there to see the gallery but a murder mystery, Live History,Catherine's Creed. Very well written and performed. Would recommend any of their shows.
I took a few of my residents/seniors here for an outing and they loved it. It's very accessible and accommodating and there was a lot to see and experience.
Heritage prison building and court house, now Peel Arts Museum and Archives (PAMA) is an amazing facility. Enjoy this facility, surrounding beautiful homes, Gage Park and Brampton City Hall, all within a walking distance.
