When I turned 21, I was already living on my own and decided to start my own company. I decided to hire Steven Pawlan because my mom had used him in the past, as he was the only accountant that I had worked with to file my normal personal taxes with. Again, I was 21. I did not have a lot of knowledge of how taxes worked, ESPECIALLY when starting your own company. Steven Pawlan did not take the time to look over anything that I had started with my LLC. (He saw me as a incompetent 21 year old, not taking the time to let me explain where I was at with my company). He combined my personal taxes with my business taxes. I had to owe almost $10k because of his lack of patience. As a new business owner, that really screwed me over. I asked him several times to meet in his office, so he could help explain to me how personal taxes work compared to business taxes, and how to file my expenses for my company. He claimed that he did not have any time to meet with me due to tax season being so busy . Then why are you an accountant? Because he did not take the time to understand that I was filing TWO SEPARATE returns, I ended up not getting any money refunded back to me, (I should ve have received a minimum of $2,000). He is extremely rude and short, hung up on me multiple occasions, does not know how to use proper grammar or spelling, and has the audacity to charge ridiculous prices, thinking you re getting the best accountant out there. I filed back in March. Today is June 4th, and I am still fighting to get my refund back to me.
